The rarer 12" disco version is just under 9 minutes. The album version isn't long enough. But this AWFUL AM Radio version is pathetic. There are several long studio disco versions.Mick was cheating on Bianca during the making of this song. sneaking around NYC with Jerry Hall. An ultra long 12 minute version was played at Studio 54 around the time of the marriage breakup. The best live performance is the 1978 Ft Worth version---and incredible rendition of the 12" Disco version with Keith, Ronny and Mick's guitars and vocals in rare form

This song always reminds me of my dad. He had a film developing lab in mid-town Manhattan. When fashion week rolled around he’d do almost 24hr shifts keeping the lab open for the photographers to get their film developed and ready to sell to fashion magazines. I’d go and help in those late night shifts and we’d have the radio going. I remember this one night after a few of the biggest shows brought their film in, this song came on and my dad started doing the Mic Jagger dance all around the lab. Then we all got up and started dancing. On the way home that night we stopped at Grays papaya for some early morning hot dogs and pineapple juice. My dad was a vet and in 2013 after being wait listed he passed away. I miss him everyday and this song brings back a fun memory. Thanks. Have a great one.

My Favorite Rolling Stones Song. The interesting thing about Miss You is how many versions their are. The Album Version 4:50
    Single Version 3:30
    8 Track Tape Version 5:50
    12 inch Disco Version 8:45
2003 CD Version 7:45 (Edit of Disco Version)
My opinion the disco version is best . Billy Preston came up with the groove but I guess they don't give songwriter credit for that.

Yeah, the disco version is the best. Even better more pronounced bass line, and Bobby Keys laying down some of his best sax licks. I have heard that about Billy Preston influencing the groove before, in connection with the bass line. Well, he's not the only one who didn't get credits ...

One of Bill Wyman's best bass lines. All those little zingers he throws in make me laugh. I think he says somewhere that Billy Preston gave him the bones of it (BW wasn't exactly into disco, after all), but then BW took off with it and made it his own.
