Does a single phase servo motor work without a capacitor and without future problems??

What if you get a overcurrent alarm in normally say (y) axis but the alarm jumps to every axis the machine has including the tool changer motor? Siemens drives and motors. 1998 Cincinnati milicron magnum 800. And the axis sounds like it grinds then alarms out. Then hit reset, and it turns back on with no issues and works fine? This happens twice a day..... everything checks fine? I'm confused. 😆

      Hi Onkar,
Thank you for stopping by our channel!
We have a video specific to checking the resistance on AC motors, which can be found here - czcams.com/video/cB2JymoOpSE/video.html. In our experience, we have found that insulation tests will fail if the windings have endured any catastrophic failure. The tolerance that the windings must be within is difficult to be checked accurately on-site with standard meters as well, so a milliohm meter would be required to get a truly accurate reading.
      We hope this helps!
Please let us know if you have any other questions!
      Thank you!

Well now I know how to tear a perfectly good motor with nothing wrong with it. I’d think if you really wanted someone to learn something you’d just us the demonstration on a motor that needs replaced or repaired, but with that being said it almost leads me to believe that your motors are so reliable they never go bad or you don’t know how to properly troubleshoot a damaged motor. Either way horrible demonstration
