Okay...looking good!
The weather looks nice, it's been cloudy here lately on my area
We had a lot of rain the past week which was needed! But the past few days have been amazing!
This was a good video, brotha. Thank you.
I appreciate it! 👊 thanks for watching!
Aren’t you the HOA guy ? Love that stuff lol
I am not. I believe the HOA guy is @rootedlawnco. But I agree his stuff is awesome!
Can I ask which part of Utah? I'm a bit south of the city with lots of Cougars.
My yard needs a lot of work. I've been looking at dethatching, but I also really need to level the lawn (up to a few inches in some places) and fix some dead spots. Is there an order of operations you'd recommend?
Thank you so much for doing these videos!
Yeah I’m just out of Salt Lake County, in North Utah County. Too many Cougars 😂.
But yeah I would recommend dethatching then leveling. You can overseed if your lawn is really patchy, but if it’s just a few spots then just seed those bare spots.
Hope that helps.
Awesome. That's exactly the advice I needed. Thanks for the quick response!
@@kulangflowthank you for watching and for the support!
Use iron and match the dark color.
How fast will it take for the rhizomes of the Kentucky bluegrass to fix those spots u showed?
I’m not sure exactly as I didn’t track it, but probably about 2 months or so.
Looks an awful lot like bentgrass to me, especially that area you show around 3:30.
What Kentucky blue grass seed do you recommend to use?
I used some seed from a local source with my KBG that isn’t available online. But I’ve seen really good results with Barenbrug seed that some friends and family have used.
@@HomegrownHowTothanks so much for the reply!
@@robertflores279 i appreciate you watching! 👊
Utah. What did you pay for your house? 1 million?
I live in Centerville. New subdivision going up close to me and the cheapest house is 1 million. WTH?
Insane! I bought before the market surge. Houses are selling for 1.2Milli just down the street.
@@HomegrownHowTo Yikes. Your grass looks great!
@@BradKwfc appreciate it! 👊
When overseeding hiw much grass should you use, so you dont have too much grass?
That definitely depends. When you buy a bag of seed it will have rates for seeding (completely bare dirt) and rates for Overseeding.
I do 4lbs per 1000 sqft
Measure your area and do LxW and that’s your sqft number
@@lordad30 What type of grass seed though? Kentucky is much smaller than fescue seeds for example.
@@raczyk get a mix it Usually comes with Kentucky blue grass, fescue and a rye grass
You can use google earth to measure your lawn also and get sq.ft
Please tell me you composted that grass instead of adding to the landfill ....
Unless you spray your lawn with chemicals
I have a green waste bin that goes to the city to be composted in to organic compost 👍
Need to come do a follow up vid on the reseed.
I do!
Looks like an Ivory homes community... I'm in Murray Cove, you?
You’re right. We’re in Utah county
Did you use the rake like dethatcher or the scarifer tool on the bottom in this video?
This time it was the dethatcher attachment
@HomegrownHowTo Your Lawn looks amazing. I bought a sunjoe two years ago. I haven't had to use it due to my thatch not being bad. This year after aereating and looking at the cores, I have a little more than usual. I'm going to give it a shot, and if it's too thin after I'll throw down some seed on top. Thank you!
@@paulmaestas8709 thank you! 👊 I hit my lawn with the sunjoe every spring and occasionally in the fall. It’s amazing at how much material it pulls up.
@HomegrownHowTo you have Kentucky Bluegrass? That is what I have. Just trying to find the best KBG seed to use.
@@paulmaestas8709 mines a PRG and KBG mix. I love KBG but Barenbug now has a Regenerative PRG that spreads similar to KBG. I love that stuff. I’ll be seeding with that this fall. Did my bros house last fall and his lawn is poppin’ off.
Wait a minute. How did you get princess peach to help out? Does Mario know you found her??
😂
@@HomegrownHowTo my daughter likes to be Princess Daisy. Also, good tip to have your daughter help out is to buy her a squirt gun to water flowers. It just gives them something to do while being out with you. I did that for my daughter when she was younger and she now helps me outside. It’s a fun way of being productive.
@@randyiron2 I love it! I’m going to do that! She loves to help water and rake. Just got her her own shovel and now she helps dig.
Is that your daughter? pink little princess
She’s the best! Loves helping dad in the yard.
dude get a longer selfie stick, I don't need to see your nose hairs.
