So love this movie
0:24 that steam engine is actually Atlantic coast line #426, a 4-6-2 pacific. It was unfortunately scrapped with all other members of its class. But #1504 a different class of pacific, specifically a p5a usra light pacific was preserved
Does anybody know what happened to the model locomotives and cars that were used in filming the train wreck scene? Were they put on display in a museum or thrown away in the trash? I’d really like to know! Those trains and that layout look so real! Also, the steam locomotives appear to me modeled after the famous New York Central 4-6-4 Hudson steam locomotives!
Good question! Hopefully someone knows!
Does anybody know the scale of the trains in the movie?
I think this website helps answer that question! ibls.org/mediawiki/index.php?title=One_Inch_Steam_Locomotive_Goes_Hollywood
They just don't make 'em like this anymore.
