Christopher Tin - Mado Kara Mieru (Lyric Video) feat. Lia, Aoi Tada, Kaori Omura

- Mado Kara Mieru, from Christopher Tin's two-time Grammy-winning album 'Calling All Dawns'. Sung in Japanese, the song is a setting of five haiku about the seasons: spring, summer, autumn, winter and spring. Each verse is sung by a different singer in a different stage of their life: a child, a young woman, an older woman, a chorus of old men, and a child. The song represents the cycle of life: youth, old age, death, and then rebirth again.

Christopher Tin needs more recognition
This comment needs more recognition
Well, he is going to be in Civ 6, so that's a bit more. Firaxis loves him.
no, we need more music :D
P.S. subbed ,)
He should get a contract for a movie already!
Thedutchjelle But nobody knows who he is!!!
Mado Kara Mieru - Culture Victory
Songo Di Volare - Scientific Victory
Baba Yetu - Religious Victory
Edit: also, can anyone else choreograph an entire Olympic opening ceremony to Christopher Tin’s music?
That would be so epic
You say that because Japan already get the Culture Victory xd, i just can't stop seing anime everywhere
You know a music track is a masterpiece when, no matter how many times you hear it, it sends you chills down your spine.
E V E R Y time!!! Chills and tears , and I always lose it at minute 2:20 , it’s too beautiful!!
And/or brings tears to your eyes. The whole purpose of music (and art in general) is to communicate and express not just an idea or a thought but an emotion or experience in a way that goes beyond words so that other people don't merely understand it intellectually but resonate with it almost viscerally. When a work of art inspires an emotional or even a physical reaction in someone (ideally, a reaction other than contempt!), it's done what it was designed to do -- and this piece has definitely done its job in terms of communicating the passage of time not only in terms of seasons but in terms of life as well as the apprehension which lurks beneath the awe we feel when we take time to consider the breadth of our individual experience.
It always reminds me of my mother telling me Japanese myths and fables when I was a child. The older I get, the more those memories seem to grow in vibrancy.
who needs anime openings when you have this masterpiece
I just realized that Baba Yetu contains a part of Mado Kara Mieru.
Really ? Where ?
@@keffkeff160 using a timestap based on the version on Chistopher Tin's channel I think they're referring to the instrumental bit around 2:10?
Yep its called a Leitmotif
He used that motiv in at least one other piece as well. You can hear it in Hayom Kadosh at 1:13
if you listen to the whole album, they are connected and circling.
for me you are the best musican to our generation
I'm honored!
:)
@@christophertin Your work is so great that you really deserve this Appreciation.
Christopher Tin gets nowhere near the appreciation that he deserves.
Nunya Bidness YESSSSSSS I KNOWWWW, he deserves way more
Well, he did win a Grammy. You may have heard of it.
Actually he's been one of the most celebrated video game composers. And the only one to receive Grammy. So it's not that he's underappreciated. Well deserved I might say - in my book he's among the best. Few other composers can make me cry with just their music
@@HristoKolevMayvena I agree, there's only one composer alive I can think of that creates the same kind of feeling, and that's Karl Jenkins. (He wrote Adiemus, if you've not heard it, definitely worth a listen)
His works are true art, unlike popular mainstream songs nowadays.
I haven't heard this in YEARS since i was a kid so the fact that my brain suddenly remembered it really shows how music sticks with you
See kids, THIS is art.

Sogno di Volare from Civilization Vi brought me here. I'm glad it did!
Mine was Baba Yetu.
Realism invictus mod brought me here
I’m in awe. Selecting haiku poems of the four seasons and enabling the listeners to view those scenes from a window frame is just a genius idea. The fact that you started from spring lyrics and finished in spring lyrics makes me think about the circulation of life and gives me a sense of Buddhism. You also inserted some words by a poet who eventually died from tuberculosis, wondering how many days are left for him, and it makes the peak of the song so powerful.
You’re a person who appreciates poetry! Wonderful.
病に臥せった人が窓から見える四季をもとに記憶や想いを巡らせる、素敵な歌
最後にまた春を迎えているから、一番辛そうにしている冬の山場を乗り越えたのだろう
Japanese is such a beautiful language.
Daniel Bartleson I think so, I think all of languages are some sort of art. I think...
Um... German?
German is for the art of science. It's very flexible yet structured at the same time.
Every song with a kid voice is freakin awesome, zero doubt about that.
weeb
I love this song🇯🇵
Christopher Tin has understood “Fuuryu(風流)”👍
So
the youth=Summer
Autumn= old age
Winter= death
Spring= rebirth.
What a beautiful song.
Christopher Tin is so under rated he literally is so talented like the music just takes you to a different world. It’s so amazing
I already heard it like 20+ times and still tears in my eyes every time I listen to it. Insanely touching.
Its such a powerful song, managing to capture all of the various states of life in a single verse.
Epic song of course, but tears?
just feel it
Yes, tears....not everybody is sooo hard like you..hero
why you cry if you do not understand it
It has that feeling of inevitability and finality to it. Sounds like something that would play before a battle that decides the fate of the world.
The autumn and winter haikus do.
But by the end, the finality is gone. The cycle of life has begun again...
After listening to this song, I simply stood there in awe for a minute or two.
.....then I instantly scrolled down into the comments section- *_BUT STILL._*
this is some 10/10 90s OVA/early 2010's visual novel aesthetic right here
It was partially inspired by anime!
@@christophertin any in particular?
@@christophertin It actually made me go back and listen to some songs from the Gundam Seed OST!
i dont know why but i cried at the end of the song
Me too, multiple times.
Because it's beautiful, simply.
Christopher Tin, you sir are what makes the gaming industry thrive. You deserve way more recognition and acknowledgement for the way you make people live through games or a story sung in words. Respect and keep that gift you have going!
The wonderful oboe leitmotiv shared with Baba Yetu - I'm crying
11 years ago? And I find this masterpiece only now?? Can’t stop listening ❤
Probably my favorite track from Calling All Dawns... and that's some tough competition.
I have no words to Express my admiration for christopher tin, but I wanted it stated nontheless
Sogno di Volare brought me to this channel, and it was one of the best things that could ever happen.
One day, when the world is united, Christopher Tin will compose the anthem of humanity!
Even after 8 years, this song still gives me satisfaction in my heart. The whole album is a masterpiece!
12 years 2024
The part of winter... Such a solemn sound. Every season in this song, really makes you feel. You could close your eyes and feel the melody, you'd visualize the scenery of this masterpiece. The japanese haikus spanning across time, such a marvelous harmony.
True God of Music,
Orchestra and Harmony,
He's Christopher Tin.
This masterpiece is best suited to be played when mankind start colonising Mars, Solar System, Milky Way Galaxy, and beyond.
It looks so cool that shade of the pause button is slightly off-centered & makes it look like an imperfect eclipse!
I hadn't heard of Christopher Tin until just now, despite hearing his work in the past. But boarding the Civ 6 hype train caused me to do some searching for the music, and Here I am. Best musical discovery in a long time.
i don't think i will ever stop coming back here once in a while to listen to this masterpiece. this is pure art.

it's been years since i last heard this, and it's just as fantastic. you know a song's good when you remember it despite not hearing it for such a long time
I lost a friend about a year ago. She passed suddenly and in her sleep...
This song reminds me of her so much that i am crying.
and I don't care if you guys know.
+Angelus Nielson My condolences to your friend.
+Jimmy Yang Thanks, man. I cope. What else can I do?
there is no cause of death? it just happened??
Her heart just stopped in the middle of the night. Scarily enough I learned since that's how most Americans discover they have heart disease. No warnings, no symptoms, just going to bed and never waking up again.
+Angelus Nielson sorry to here that..my prayers will be with her..just think, she will carry on dreaming forever
At least for me, there is an incredible amount of depth and significance in this piece. It speaks not just of the cycle of the seasons but of the cycle of life and the vital importance of appreciating whatever moments of beauty we can find in it however fleeting -- because as the lyrics point out, our lives in the scheme of things are all too short and none of us know for certain how much time we might have left.
After everything goes to sleep during winter when it wakes up and blossoms again, the music is so beautiful
Man, all of your music is so evocative of the human spirit. Especially this album. Thank you, Mr. Tin.
The way this song is composed and put together is absolute genius. The fact that it can convey the themes of the song to people who don't even understand the language is a testament to the universal power of music.
i’m Japanese. I'm so glad to have met beautiful music. Traditional and very wonderful words. thank you.
Why do I feel a sense of nostalgia, even though it's my first time listening
This is one of the very few songs that were able to bring tears to my eyes.
Hello Christopher,
I´ve heared your music (calling all dawns) first time here in germany:
You´ve such a big musical synphonical backround in your compositions - wow - it was so amazing hearing your compositions.
Great job .- it was a big pleasure to listen to that fantastic music and to your great work!!
Martin Falk
This is actually amazing
Holy crap I get instant chills as soon as the vocal kicks in... and the chills doesn't let up until the end of the video.
Kudos, man. Now I know you make beautiful stuff--though, I wish I knew you sooner!
always coming back to your work, no matter how many years it's been
Man, ive looked for this song for about a decade now, couldnt remember the lyrics right and couldnt remember where i heard it
When someone asks me about the most beautiful song I have ever heard, this is what comes to my mind.
This music on another level fr
Every now and then, I always come back to this beautiful piece and listen to its poetic verses.
Thank you, Mr. Tin. Art really does make living worth the while.
this is why japan has one of the highest respected cultures in the world.
lovguru23 But, sadly, too many idiots berate people who like it.
I keep listening this song although i have for past 10 years
Gorgeous piece of music honestly gives you goosebumps. I hear a very strong Thomas Newman influence in the music, it's lovely the way it's used.
same. I wonder if the tone was the 3rd one?
Christopher Tin, you make music that truly breaks the language barrier and reaches a person's soul. Your music makes my skin crawl every time, awesome!
The motif which this song was based on was so good... this is definitely my top favorite song on the entire cycle!
The most chilling is when everyone's singing together and the voices spreads out loud.
I've been a fan of yours for years and I was appalled to stumble upon this very song as Japanese Poetry is one of my greatest interests and I had never heard of this song until this week. The choice of poems and singers and how they are set as well as the pacing and subtle use of traditional instruments (if I am right) makes me wonder this might be my favorite composition of yours. Please, continue to gift us with the wonders of your creation.
The melody feels like some old European folk tune. Interesting contrast with the lyrics. I definitely start to notice a theme with maxing out epicness in the orchestration of your music.
I don't understand this having only 1.1 million views after all this time.
Mr Tin, this is brilliant.
I remember listening to this as a kid. My sister showed it to me and I fell in love with it. It is such an amazing piece from beginning to end. Back in 2015 this song is what inspired me to learn Japanese in High School. Though much I forgot. Still, this is an amazing song every time I listen I always feel goosebumps. Especially at the part at 1:56 AMAZING
Arigato gozaimasu!
Behold, this majestic masterpiece...
어이구 한국분아니신가!
This music and singing is meaningful, creative and needs to go big time.
Dude, this was featured in one rap video. I've been looking for it ever since.

Skyler Temporal
nah man, some deutsch-rap video
link plz I'd love to hear it!

Waynewayne Wayne
Some German gangsta rap song.
Christopher? I cant find anything by Kaori Omura besides "Mado Kara Mieru". Im pretty sure sure she is the senior voice in this ensemble. Her voice struck me as drenched with liquor and for all my efforts i cannot find ANYTHING else by her.
That song is such an exemple of perfection...
I honestly can’t stop listening to this song. I’ve got the Spotify stats to prove it.
How does this man always make such powerful compassionate and bone thrilling music. Baba Yetu and Mado Kara Mieru are my absolute favorites!
Amo o trabalho e a sensibilidade do Christopher Tin.❤
I couldn't help but sing along to this. 😍
I just foundd out the woman from the summer verse is the same one who sang the opening to Clannad After Story :')
ARE YOU..OMG I FUCKIG LOVER HER VOICE!I KNEW IT SOUNDED FAMILIAR
Also, two of those women (at least one of which also did Clannad After Story) also did several themes in Angel Beats.
Yeah, and the other one also did "Wo Qui Non Coin" from Cowboy Bebop.
Love it
Love it.
I love this.
Love it👏👏👏
One of the few songs that has brought tears to my eyes in the first listening. What a masterpiece.
Gorgeous. Una sinfonía a las estaciones del año, una meditación hermosa llena de paz, melancolía y paisajes que se dibujan en la mente. Bravo por este señor, un auténtico genio de nuestros tiempos.
sometimes you wish you could like something twice....or trice
yeah, or rice
thrice
then Founce.
then Fice?
Just Beautiful !
Beautiful!
I didn't know what a "tyga" was. I searched. Now I weep for humanity. How could someone absolutely mangle such a beautiful music?
Absolutely beautiful.
Shivers all over, like with so many of his songs
I´ve just few at most a hand full of idols, and one of them is Christopher Tin. Just wanna give you my deepest appreciation to your work.
Amazing album
