The fact that two judges had the fight even in the eighth and final round is astonishing. No wonder Azumah, before this fight, said he would go to Australia with his own judges, being his fists. Robbery was on the cards for Jeff Fenech with all the knockdowns he suffered.

I was glad he looked so good. I think Fenech thought all the excuses were bs too. Nelson did what he had to do to back up his Vegas performance. AND he did it in Fenech’s country. Ouch!
Yes, Nelson like most boxers had the excuses if he didn't win, 40 years later he still complains over the Sanchez fight and later the Whittaker fight. I'm a bit over hearing them from him and his fans, and same also with Fenech crying about the first fight 'I was never the same after that decision boo hoo'. They are both as bad as each other.
I remember when in the 90's my father would wake me and my little brother Williams Annak now a solider up in midnight just to watch the boxing professor and he never disappointed us
Who is still watching this fight in 2023? Azumah was a classic fighter and a clinician. Undoubtedly one of the great sportsman to have come from the continent.
The commentor got it right in round 8 by stating that Azumah was setting up a trap for Jeff Fenech in the corner. How predicted excellently at that moment seemed to have lost out on everyone watching the clip. Congrats! Mr Commentator.
Exactly! He futher said that the right side of Fenech's was exposed. To the dangerous left hooks of Zoom Zoom. And lo did he knock the Aussie out with that left. Remember it was the left that dazed Fenech before he followed up with the Coup de gras right
Azumah's adaptations: In the first fight the cross was his only defence but in this fight he is holding both hands up. Fenech likes to throw multiple shots so Azumah has to hold both hands up. That way Jeff will try to jab and aim his punches one at a time. On the ropes, Azumah now leans his left shoulder into Jeff's chest instead of facing him like he did in the first fight. This allows his right arm more swinging room. Azumah isn't dancing much in this fight because he is looking for gaps and mistakes so he can attack. He is hiding behind the guard and using range for further defence. The 8th knockdown- Staying in the corner was all part of the plan. He was hitting Jeff's body lightly then left hook to his chin. He did that for a while and Jeff dropped his guard everytime. The knockdown was inevitable!
@CZcams Only did you watch the first fight? Fenech did have some good ending but he was not the winner. There are 12 rounds in boxing for a reason. If you win the last 6 rounds and your opponent took the first 6 rounds it's called a draw. You were fooled by the noise and the fact that Jeff was by far a busy fighter but Azumah had the cleaner punches
I think the big change was that he went out there to hurt Fenech as much as he could right from the opening bell, to make a statement. And he succeeded.
Why, was Fenech not liked in Oz or something, I remember him being ok but I've never seen this Fight and the dirty Kneeing he tried to give Nelson if the Ref saw that he should have Disqualified him?✌️

I think Jeff and his team didn't analyse the 1st fight well. Judge 3 scored 114 (Jeff) vs 114 (Azumah) Jeff took the Professor's lesson very well and understood Azumah after this 2nd fight. A Professor is always a Professor! Prof. Zoom Zoom.....Just like the way the "Zoom" app has displaced "Skype"
Dr Pacheco said it well. He spoke about how Jeff's right side of his face was open to a left hook and out of nowhere, Nelson unloaded a solid left hand that ended the fight not long afterwards! Nelson was one of the best at fighting off of the ropes! More fighters of today should take notes and learn from The Professor!
Azumah Nelson was a beast, didn't know much about him. Is it me or Australians just can't fight at all?!!! This Jeff reminds me of Jeff Horn, Azumah clipped this weirdo twice and beat him up until he wanted to knee him lol, Big up from South Africa!!!
@@STORMTROOPEROFDEATH71 Maybe, but I follow Boxing, always loved the sport. I think it's really making a comeback!!! Not saying they were no good fighter in the late 90's though, but for me the standard was low!!!
Azumah took his own referees with him by knocking out Jeff. As one commentator said how can you score the fight even when Azumah floored Jeff 3 times. No wonder. Ike Quartey felt aggrieved with his losses especially one against Vernon Forrest.

Definite bad feeling coming through from the Aussie crowd. Fenech proved to be a one dimensional fighter. He fought with his head straight up and no head movement. Nelson truly was one of the greats.

Summary 227 (Jeff) vs 229 (Azumah): so, what made them think that Jeff won the 1st fight?
Judge 3 scored 114 (Jeff) vs 114 (Azumah)
Jeff took the Professor's lesson very well and understood Azumah after this 2nd fight.
A Professor is always a Professor!
Prof. Zoom Zoom.....Just like the way the "Zoom" app has displaced "Skype"
Azumah may not have neat Sanchez, but he was a gladiator of that caliber nonetheless! What a great boxer he was!
He was a late sub with 13 fights.
Dr Pacheco said it well. He spoke about how Jeff's right side of his face was open to a left hook and out of nowhere, Nelson unloaded a solid left hand that ended the fight not long afterwards! Nelson was one of the best at fighting off of the ropes! More fighters of today should take notes and learn from The Professor!
yes and he said several times that Azumah is setting a trap which was also true
Seeing the silent Aussies when Azumah battered Fenech was too hilarious lmao
Azumah Nelson is a world class champion all around.
Boxing just went slow and very boring in the late 90's and early 2000's, there was just a low-level fighters, especially the Heavyweight division!!! I jumped back to Boxing in 2014. I think it's really making a comeback!!! Not saying they were no good fighter in the late 90's though, but for me the standard was low!!!
Azumah the professional fighter. I love this fight
Azumah took his own referees with him by knocking out Jeff. As one commentator said how can you score the fight even when Azumah floored Jeff 3 times. No wonder. Ike Quartey felt aggrieved with his losses especially one against Vernon Forrest.
Boxing is a sport, talents, skills, techniques, stamina endurance, makes great boxers, judges must not be bias 😂😂regardless of colour race's, it's a sport that's many people enjoy, regardless of the dangers that's any boxers can encounter,a wonderful gladiators sport of boxing will be with us for along time !!!!!
I loved AZs reaction to the cornerman at the end.
The humility and dignity of Prof. AZUMAH NELSON was and is 2nd to none. This is a character whose greatness though achieved, was also bestowed on him by his deeds. forever loved, forever cherished, and forever the Greatest
I remember that slim fighter, Marcos Vilasana who gave the Prof very tough time inn the ring 😅😅😅😅
Iam still enjoying about the fights of the Ghanaian warrior in the nineties.
This fight was a great fight by all standards
At the end of the third round Fenech showed his frustration throwing a knee that should had been a point deduction.
Azumah was a beast 🔥 🔥
Definite bad feeling coming through from the Aussie crowd. Fenech proved to be a one dimensional fighter. He fought with his head straight up and no head movement. Nelson truly was one of the greats.
That's how champions are made..put your fighter with a champion and hope he will dethrone the present Cham. Look back at the classic fight with Hagler and Vito Antuofermo. 1979.
The commentator is very predictive,, he said everything 😂
When you fight the peoples champ in his home town you got to put him out to get your respect. This is what happened here. Great fight 👍
I saw the original broadcast and the racial tension in the build up and during the fight was tremendous and Nelson went in their and destroyed Fenech. And the Australian people were not happy at all. All students must learn from the ‘ Professor ‘ Azumah Nelson
