It’s always refreshing to benefit from the wisdom and insight, from a constitutionalist like Larry. The fact that he’s willing to share his expertise and interpretation of the law with the less learned, is admirable. I’m guessing that scribes take down every word Larry speaks, so future generations of legal scholars may benefit. I travel from this airport frequently and this certainly enhances my confidence in Nashville TSA. At least someone with an IQ above that of a spit cup came up and acted reasonably. Great video !

Yeah, that’s the thing that gets me. I’ve seen audits like this where even some citizens, such as you or I, get all irate when an auditor walks in with the camera. Here I’m thinkin’ … look up dude, you got 14 cameras watching every move you make and listening to every sound you utter and you’re alright with that, but you don’t want somebody such as yourself or I (a free citizen) to have one?! What happened to the days when people got all excited (in a good way) when they found out they’re gonna be on TV? I swear, if I ever get to witness an audit in person I’m gonna be jumpin’ up and down, laughing and carrying on, saying: “HEY, LOOK EVERYBODY, I’M ON TV … HI MOM!”

@VBcan I'd beg to differ, and even state that I see no difference at all. The purpose of personal cameras being used in this manner is to ensure the safety and security of both our Constitutional liberties and our personal (individual) security. To think that those "security cameras", as you call them, are in place to keep us, as individuals, safe and secure, over that of the institution is, simply put, naive. It's both our rights and our responsibilities to ensure our own safety and security, and not delegate this responsibility to somebody else, especially to someone to whom we don't even know ... and have, first and foremost, their best interests in mind, at our expense.

Why do cops ask for a physical form of ID when no cops in America can legally demand a citizen provide one? If you are driving or fishing, you may be required to provide a license, and it happens to have your identity on it, but that is then being able to demand a license, NOT an ID. You might also start suggesting that officers find and watch the CZcams video of the training video the Colorado Springs Police had to produce regarding this issue. Oh, they also had to give an auditor $41,000 for doing stupid shit.

The published TSA policy on public photography of its checkpoints reads as follows:
"TSA does not prohibit photographing, videotaping or filming at security checkpoints, as long as the screening process is not interfered with or sensitive information is not revealed.
"Interference with screening includes but is not limited to holding a recording device up to the face of a TSA officer so that the officer is unable to see or move, refusing to assume the proper stance during screening, blocking the movement of others through the checkpoint or refusing to submit a recording device for screening.
"Additionally, you may not film or take pictures of equipment monitors that are shielded from public view."
The CUN auditor was not violating any of the restrictions noted in the policy. The three TSA officers all approached the auditor and invaded his personal space, not the other way around, and at no time was the auditor standing within the TSA inspection (screening) area and therefore not interfering with the inspection process, was not blocking the movement of anyone at the checkpoint, and was not in any area shielded from public view. Therefore he was perfectly free to exercise his First Amendment right to audio and video record the TSA activities without interference from either the TSA or LEOs. There is no expectation of privacy in public places and additionally multiple US Circuit Courts have held that the audio and video recording of public officials engaged in their official duties in public is absolutely protected by the free speech and free press clauses of the First Amendment irrespective of any state or local "wiretap" laws.

The anti-American sentiment was oozing from those cops. When they ask what are your plans next, that's when you go ahead and interrupt that line of bullsht by saying "name and badge number.....NOW." After they give you their name and badge number, you tell them they are dismissed. The way you wrapped it up, you left the cops with the feeling that they ran you out.
