    For a 6k turnaround you have so many options that isn’t utilizing cast parts in the tonearm. Good on mofi for utilizing a delrin platter but at the end of the day - this isn’t a 6k table

    Beautiful piece, absolutely gorgeous. Just checked your website, and am wondering why you neglect to tell us the performance specs. Yes, it's fine to give us the weight, dimensions, arm length, power consumption, number of speeds,etc. How about wow & flutter, rumble, speed accuracy? Is it because those numbers are inferior to dozens of older Technics, Sony, Pioneer units, and you'd prefer we don't need to know that? Yes, I know, those specs don't tell us how good the sound is, but they do.

    • @richardelliott8352
      @richardelliott8352 Před 5 měsíci +1

      You are overlooking that the performance specs are not given under oath, and that some manufacturers, with Japanese brands getting a lot of press for not meeting specs, are historically known to publish erroneous specs.

    I'd like to see a company design a high end automatic turntable. Is it possible? I'm asking because people are only getting older and their hands are getting more and more shaky. I think a good high end automatic turntable would do well on the market.

I'm guessing You're thinking multi thousands of $$$ ? to me, I'm 74 and have had T'tables for a while going back to an original ( new ) AR. and yes I learned quick that for me full auto was the way to go. machine obviously handled the critical needle / soft vinyl LP contact better than my hands. especially if 'enhancements were in use. plus of course Ya can push the button & have a bit of time to sit down - or just relax after play. but I near always play DVD's I like concert videos be it D.Krall Paris , A.Netrebko. LaTraviatta or G.Dead movie ( 2 nd disc )

      The worst thing about the turntable world is this religious devotion to non-auto TT. Audiophiles are often elitist, never figuring they might not have ten fully functioning fingers forever. I use linear trackers that blow away most of these new gen tinker turntables.

    This is all very good but can unfortunately be ruined by a simple $30 belt. This is the case on my Ultradeck + Mastertracker. The spot where the belt is 'welded' causes a 'boom' as it passes through the pulley, causing me to turn off my subwoofers (2 x REL S510). You should also focus on the design and manufacturing of the belt which is ultimately a fundamental component.

    But you can have the Best of Both Worlds you can have the cables fitted in the head shell just by having a sliding block dovetail and a tightening With a nylon Bolt, the block can be removed and just a new headshell put in with the cartridge already connected, and just plug in the Block and tightened. I don't know why I've never seen it done like this?? if you make one make sure I get a couple and 15% of any sales as well royalty on the headshell. All rights received patent designed owned by me p.p
    I've got a complete new motor design need it put in production nothing has ever used this type of motor design before not going to leave comments about it but if you're interested we can talk

    This is surely a really nice und well designed turntable. The MoFi TTs come along with a cool style. But the Masterdeck costs as much as three Ultradecks. Here in Germany it is offered for 8.000 Euro. At that pricepoint you find only in Germany a handful of great manufacturers with excellent turntables which have a perfect finish (Acoustic Signature, Transrotor, TW Acustics, Clearaudio etc.). I'm sure the Masterdeck tonearm is well engineered but it doen't look high class. It's the same with the VPIs. It seems american manufacturers don't care much about finish. I can imagine the Masterdeck sounds great but for that price I would expect more.
    And in a promo-video such dusty vinyl??! Really? Funfact: MoFi sells dust brushes. They should use them.

    So basically you re-created a really nice record deck probably 100 times the price that is no better van a really good record deck from the 1970s/early 80s those bearings you mentioned on the tone arm. They don’t even do one revolution, the tone arm on the moose by certain amount of degrees, not even one full rotation and direct drive turntables from the 1970s/early 80s used to keep 100% speed accurate and I’m a admit, a drive belt on the outside of the platter. Stupid idea gets contaminated by , dust and moisture in the air drive belt should be at least underneath the platter if you’re going to have a drive belt

Is this table worth $6K? That’s up to the buyer but 99.9% of most people couldn’t hear the difference between 33.33 rpm and 33.22 rpm etc. my 50 yr old AR still spins at 33.37 rpm lol with an oiled platter bushing.
