    Your brakes feels spongy because you have floating rotors which tend to wiggle the pads away from the rotor during acceleration minimising unwanted friction thus allowing you to accelerate faster. Now the down side is you must pump the brakes slightly to “fix” the rotor and get the pads to move closer then the next brake pump should provide a solid feel 👍

    Few of us in UK have these with the updated rear brackets,
    Agreed the supplied bolts are garbage, I also used stock bracket bolts,
    The nipples leaked very bad, the nipple seats were not true so it didn't matter if you used oem nipples, or tightened them down hard, still leaked, so we had to use seat repair kits ,
    The standard black pads are absolute garbage too, we were supplied with some red higher temp pads which are much much better, and the initial bite is much better, you're right the black pads bite is terrible.
    The only real problem I've ran into is the pads have started to click about when going from reverse to forward, there's a bit of movement and it's not a nice sound / feel in the pedal, yet to figure out what that's started to happen.
    All in all, to me these brakes were better value still than sourcing a rusty old set of 380s from an M, touch wood.

    Why am I getting the vibe that you think that they did pretty good for how much they cost? I mean you’re still running them. That said I am 100% against them putting Brembo on the caliper. But it seems like Dicase is a good alternative to $4000 brakes!! At least that’s what I see a full front and back big brake kit costing. Question is, if they used better materials could they make a quality brake kit for a lot less than some of these companies that are charging prices that you would need to be either sponsored or rich to buy? I’m never going to spend $4k on a big brake kit for my VW Gti. If I had it like that then I wouldn’t be driving a Gti.

  • @Mr16bit

    Sounds like they are using cheaper tool steel for the hardware with low or no chromium content. Also some china stainless isnt stainless because the chemical composition can be a bit all over the place and not have enough chromium compared to say German or Australian steel. Also stainless is really expensive compared to high carbon tool or blade steel like 1060, 1070 or 1080 series steels. Thats where a lot of the cost on genuine stuff goes. Materials that can be 3 or more times the cost and be much more sensitive to heat treatment processes.

    These are not for racing purposes. What's the reason to write a bad review about this product if it didn't meet
    your expectations for the purpose you bought them?
    Front brakes are 900 to 1200 delivered to your door. Why didn't you purchase original Bremb... equipment paying 4k or 5k per wheel for front brakes?
    You were expecting the same quality product 10 times cheaper than the high-end brake kit?

      The quality was the main issue, but peoples attitudes to getting the copies is why, i legit lost interest in talking about them. However, every week even now the original video series still gets multiple comments and questions. So figured i would do a vid while the car was on the hoist and i was finally fitting the new rear brake lines. My take last year, was ordering these is pretty easy, you need to know what you need in the kit, you need to know rotor and caliper specs and it shouldn't be too hard to work that out and make sure who ever you order from will provide the right stuff. If you struggle with that, you absolutely shouldn't be fitting brakes at all and will need help through the entire process. Something i can't do for everyone.

      @@ZeroTo60Tube I understand what you are saying regarding "if you don't understand simple specs? Leave well alone" but that's a part of your channel isn't it? Specing cars out, modifying, learning as you go?

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  Před 3 lety

      @@DG-ox6bg Personally i think you absolutely should not learn as you go with brakes. Brakes and even certain parts of suspension work (if a bolt comes loose) can kill someone. It's very different to playing with power mods or fixing oil leaks. At least if a power mod fails, you get misfires or break down or in a bad case maybe a fire. Brakes is something you must understand to be looking at. With unknown braking components you need to be able to look at something and know if its going to work and be certain every time you touch the brake pedal it's going to work. If i was confident that every set coming out of china was the same it would make it an easier path, but so many things need to be checked in the supply chain. Its really a bit of a mess and the reality was i got the feeling no one cared in that supply chain. It inevitably comes down to the installer to know things are right.

They did after all change their name to "DicfAce" to clear up any confusion or rude ideas about their name.....lol. If they would just not try to use a very popular brands name after all is said and done a lot of us could have been quite happy knowing they were just a much cheaper version of a big brake kit IMHO. They actually do sell many versions of big brake kits under new names for very cheap so anyone wanting them is able at any time to buy and use etc at their leisure.

    Why would give oxygen to a product that was an illegal copy?

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  Před 3 lety +2

      2 main reasons. Firstly people think for some strange reason Brembo actually make these brakes in China. Meaning people think the cheap fakes are real. Secondly too many people are buying these from China and then selling them locally to unsuspecting victims. Also in case you didn't realise, early every aftermarket standard replacement part is a direct copy of an OEM part. You can buy aftermarket discs, pads, steering joints, wheel bearings, brake lines, tail lights, head lights and so on that all look exactly the same as the OEM ones. The only thing that actually makes these illegal is people saying they are made by Brembo (and putting that sticker on them). I think people need to be aware these exist and keep it in mind when buying brakes not through proper channels, like second hand or even dodgy shops.

  • @viperidaenz1

    I'm pleased you haven't promoted counterfeit products, that would just be extra fuel for the fire against the right to repair movement and the car industry push to make people think non-genuine products are all dangerous and fake.

      @@ZeroTo60Tube Yes I watched it, I acknowledge your sincerity to say there are copies with trademark usurpation. But in some countries it is illegal to buy copies with trademark usurpation and even more you are aware about it. My point you should not make video about it mainly because these products never passed any certification proving they meet standards of safety. Some people would buy this product after watching your video just considering the low price.

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  Před 3 lety +1

      Would you be fine with it, if the logo wasn't on them? Because i think that sticker is the only thing customs would or even could have anything to say about, but Brembo being an Italian company they probably wouldn't care, just like when people get back from bali with the fake LV bags rolling through customs. However, I do get where you are coming from. Maybe take in to consideration the people that have been sold these fakes by actual crooks on facebook marketplace. There are way too many getting sold these as genuine and most people still don't know the copies exist. I feel it's more important to make people aware instead of letting people get conned. Makes you wonder how many shops are out there selling these as genuine........
