This was by far the most rewarding Augmented Reality project I've ever built. I think it strikes the perfect balance of exciting, crazy but also deeply meaningful. This also probably marks a pause in my AR projects - doing them has been really fun but they haven't been getting many views. But maybe this video does well. Who knows! Share it! And thanks for spending these 15 minutes with me, I really appreciate it.
Speaking of which, I wanted to highlight some inaccuracies that exist in this video - starting with my Granular Synthesis explanation. It works within the context of the video, but I think it's greatly oversimplified and leans to being technically wrong. It's not that bad, but you should definitely look up some better 10 minute explanations that exist out there instead of sticking with my 10 second summary!
Also, in the epic looking scene where I am playing two of my cube instruments at the same time, audio techies will be quick to notice that the sound wasn't generated via granular synthesis! I actually have 3 different versions of the instrument: one that works through granular (which is what you see in the first and the final demo), one that has a built in arpeggiator and one that can play pre-recorded audio. That's what I used in that scene!

I read you're having trouble with the algorithm. I wanted to give you a little advice on that (not that I'm doing so good myself but my content is quite bad compared to yours). You should try making some little tutorials on the tools you us for your project, they are not the most fun videos, but they help to bring new people who are interested in this kind of tech. Especially if the title is something people would google like: "how to make your first AR project".

The stickers were necessary since there are no good body tracking solutions for the HoloLens 2. But if I had done this with a phone then yes, it probably would have sufficed :)
