I own both of these products and find them to be very, very efficient. I live alone in a very small apartment and really enjoy doing laundry in this way. It's actually rather therapeutic and satisfying to be in the privacy of my own apartment doing laundry and not having to schlep down to the dark and lonely basement. LOL. You can hand wash, that's a valid option. Actually, the Wonderwash was invented for 2 main reasons: 1. To be gentler on the hands than hand washing (for people in South Africa with large families, who washed by hand); 2. To save water. It uses less water than even hand washing, a big consideration in places where they have to lug water long distances.
Where I'm from, we have a lot of people who live "off-grid" (Amish and otherwise). Some use the washer because it's easier and faster than hand washing, then, they use an old-fashioned mop bucket with a wringer to get most of the water out before hanging the clothes to dry. (No electric)
I used a wonder wash a few years ago when I moved into a small place with no room for a washing machine, and I can confirm it works really well. You could use a bucket of course, but it would be messier and take longer. I was surprised how well the wonder wash cleaned the clothes, and how much you can get in there - I'd do a whole week's washing in 2 loads. Obviously it's more labour-intensive than throwing them in a proper machine, but it really isn't much of a chore. I paid about £20, a fair bit less than the $51 in the link, so they've gone up in price, but I'd still say it's worth the money. I'd happily recommend them.
@@waynestephas3036 You can probably squeeze 2 pairs of jeans in but no more.its a small machine but a wash only takes 5 minutes, so while it's labour intensive it won't take you all day to do a full load. I think I used to spend around an hour on Saturday mornings to do a full week' clothes.
This is CRAZY good for cloth diapers. My wife washes her luna pads in it, and she likes using this better than a conventional washer/dryer. It definitely doesn't fit as much as a conventional unit, but it's quicker (besides waiting for things to hang dry) than waiting for a washing machine to finish a 1-hour cycle, so in the end, you feel like you're spending less time with the laundry.
I used to have one of those washers... The only problem I had with it, was that the handle stripped off... It broke off. Other than that, it worked great. Had to spin it around like a basketball, but it still worked. The manufacturer suggested that you spin it for at least 5 minutes for it to build pressure. They also said to put the nozzle onto the bottom first, before you opened the top (they didn't want the thing to explode on you... it does build that much pressure after 5 minutes of washing!). The water, after 5 minutes, was nasty looking, meaning that the clothes got clean. You couldn't wash more than a pair of jeans inside it, which is why the handle torqued off...
Oh, one thing I forgot to mention, was that the one I had, was made in the late '90s, which meant that all the parts were plastic, and couldn't handle the torque from turning the handle... Nice to see they improved it a great deal!!!

I'm considering one of these since they close my apartment's laundry room at night (I work nights, so now I have no time to do laundry anymore). I've read a lot of reviews about how flimsy they are, but those complaints are usually pre-2010
Wonder Wash is one of my favorite items I bought myself back in the "starving years" of my life! So many loads that saved money, got my clothes clean and had me off to work or class!
I found one in UK second hand when my machine broke down. My water and electricity bill have really reduced but I need one to travel with now but don't want to ruin the planet by getting from USA. I can't imagine why no-one makes them here. Its a no brainer.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Facing apartment living for first time since college, forgot what a drag using community facility could be. Didn't mind expense so much, but time spent and wait for enough laundry to make trip worth it... well just really puts a damper on things. Little washing machine is awesome. Neat idea, I purchased the Wonder Wash a while back. The stand broke cranking it, note how the stand wobbles when he is just draining it. It leaked in the middle and then the crank broke - I did use it a lot. When it totally fell apart I did an alternative. Found an old plastic cooler, a plunger and that method has lasted forever.

I have the washer, but when I ran out of the detergent that came with the washer, I put it away because I thought regular detergent would foam out, or something. So, I can now take it off the shelf as you have demonstrated a tbl of regular detergent works, as well. thanks! Spinner is interesting- I'll have to look into that device

They account for 6-10% of the total household energy usage, and can easily cost $100 and up per year to run depending on factors like family size. I live in Texas too, it's a real shame to see so many people use clothes dryers when it's a dry 100 degrees and up outside and the clothes would dry almost instantly.

I'm so excited! My wonder-wash and Ninja came in today! Wanting to live in hip areas in NYC on a budget doesn't always get you a washer and dryer (and laundromats have germs, sore backs, and harsh industrial washers). I was already using The Laundress Detergent Wool and Cashmere, to Hand wash my clothing. Hands get tired quickly, plus it takes days to dry looking a mess in your living room. I've had my eye on that little washing machine for a while and came across it a Salvation Army store. It was in perfect condition, still in it's original box and packaging with instructions. We paid 10 dollars (CDN) for it. We gave it a try and it worked like a charm. It was easy, the clothes came out perfectly clean and smelling fresh. Fastest load of laundry I've ever done by far. @Simplyredefined Toootally do it. If you're washing clothes every day already, you might as well get a little workout to go with it! I think I read that your dryer is either the first or second biggest user of energy in your house. Slash that usage and you'll be saving TONS. If you save $150 per month, these will pay for themselves in no time. However, it has been SUPER hot in Texas lately, so your electric bill may be largely due to the A/C...

Ok, first two words - love mine! I can soak the items as long as I want and the tumble effect is better than the laundromat, because I control it. About 3 min steady back and forth spins does get clothes clean and I can rinse as much as I like, also. We bought ours for a camp where we have our own hot and cold water tub/shower, so, it's worked out great!
I have the Wonder Wash but a larger spin dryer. The washer is so easy to use and does a great job. However, I can't imagine using this for a family; it would take forever. It is wonderful for delicates and panty hose. I still take all sheets, blankets, and bath towels to the laundry. Your wash water was too clear for those clothes you washed to have actually been dirty. I usually rinse twice or until the water is completely clear. Also, I have to wash our Levi's twice to get them completely clean. While it is a handy little little gadget that uses very little water, you are still going to have to use a regular washing machine for all large and bulky items.
@Matt It is better for parents to work WITH their kids. Many hands make easy work! Not to mention cleaning up is what makes us human. We don't get paid to keep our caves clean.

a butt load of money? that wonder wash is like $50. and that spin dryer is $60. You can get a 5 gallon bucket and a plunger for under $15 and some clothes line for $5 and under. Now that saves you a butt load of money

In addition, the method you mentioned requires more time and energy, while wonderwash makes it easier and perhaps less time consuming. Having said all that, I do think you are a nice woman for choosing the hard way to clean your clothes, not many women are willing to do so much housework nowadays.
Nicole Dozier besides that, he is washing just a small load and using a lot of water (specially if you consider the water going down the drain waiting for the hot one to come), a lot of detergent (yes, it looks like a small amount but you ar also washing just a small amount of clothes) and he is drying a minimal amount of clothes at a time so he is almost probably using more detergent, more water and more electricity than if he just but a proper washer and a rope to let the clothes dry or something or as you said, if he washed it by hand. Furthermore I bet that dryer won't last and he will be doing an awful lot of was when he replaces it. He is probably ruining the planet, not saving it.

Casey, thank you for leaning off the fence to buy one, my roommate broke the washer. I have 2 catch barrels, and after running or working out I use a propane shower, now with wonder wash, I can take off my nasty assed running clothes, and hang while i'm still outside. thanx again, very informative.
@@amberstar203 There is one "milky" laundry detergent--Persil for sensitive skin. Anywho, that being said, this did not look like a bottle or Persil, but did look more like fabric softner. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt and thought there were no suds because he used too little detergent.
Thanks for this helpful review of the Mini Spinner. We already have the Wonder Wash and when I was very young, we often used o roll up clean clothes in clean towels to squeeze the extra water out. That was pretty labor intensive. I much prefer the Mini Spinner, thanks.
hey man used one for years, worked great. but ill share a trick i learned with that, water and air is very important with that because its a pressure washer to much water no air no pressure. push drain in before opening top helps as well, same with rinsing.

Thanks Casey I viewed your video a few weeks ago. I liked your video, the way you described it and demonstrated it. I purchased both the washer and spinner and love it. I have done two loads so far each load were able to hold 2 pairs of jeans and 2 blouses and several undergarments. I love it.

When my husband and I lived on an RV, we STRONGLY considered this setup for our laundry! We were pregnant and cloth diapers were the ONLY option for us (I would NEVER buy "trash" (aka disposable diapers); the daily trips to the laundromat were not possible and we were 100% on board with this washer/spinner combo! There's a sucker born every day. Buy a five-gallon bucket at the Home Depot for the exact same result at a cost of 3-4 dollars. Or do it in the sink/tub for free. The spinner looked nifty, but it's NOT a dryer, it's not NEARLY as powerful as the centrifuge in a full size washer, quality is questionable and if it lasts more than a couple of weeks it's only good for REALLY small loads.
I point is this is a lot less labor intensive than using a bucket or washing by hand & not everyone has a bunch of clothes so this would be ideal in certain situations but obviously not for everyone. I personally wouldn't get it but I works for some
Except that a 5 gallon bucket will not give you the same result at all. You can do it in a sink/tub for free, hand washing does work even better than washing machines if done correctly, but you'll have to spend a lot more time.
I have one. Really need more soap then that. Great for emergency also. It does wash good. I spin it back and forth few second on one turn the turn the other way.
I've washed 3 of my 16 yr old son's heavy hoodies at a time, but only spin one at a time in the dryer. To get them balanced, I hold the hoodie at the waist and let the sleeves fall toward the hood. If I keep the sleeves with the hood as I put them in the dryer, it seems to distribute the weight more evenly..
I'm thinking use the bucket method for washing, since it's simple and inexpensive, but I'm really thinking that the spin dryer might be worth the investment. It's easy to damage clothes by wringing them, and spinning instead seems much wiser.
Someone needs to invent a portable, pedal powered device which both washes and spins clothes, then can be folded into something the size of a suitcase or not much bigger. That would be impressive.

That is Impressive I must say. But what would be super impressive, is something like that which could be folded into something smaller for easy storage. Now, off course, to design anything that holds any volume of water would need to be resistant to leaking. therefore, to design such a device to be foldable and remain resistant to leaking, would be no easy task. Which would make such an invention all the more impressive.

For 100 bux, you can find excellent used full-size washer dryer combos. I mean, this rotating jug and salad spinner wound't even hold a single pair of JEANS! Sears had the right idea for a REAL portable washer 75 years ago. A miniature wringer-washer. Hold 5 gallons of water. Has a hand wringer for squeezing out the water. I just missed out on a PERFECTLY running 50 year-old one for 40 bux locally. Fit on a counter top.This is just environmental stupidity!

I've been reading through user comments on amazon and looking through youtube reviews for 2-3 hand-wash products out there (these 2 in particular), and your video was both informative and thankfully succinct! So many of the others were 15+ minutes long and yet less helpful. My intended purposes for the products are similar to your example: Need quick turn-around washing for my very limited inventory of workout clothes (which I sweat like a pig in) and my poor-quality daily work clothes which just get butchered in the traditional washer-dryer and really only need touch-up washing every so often. I also like to go swimming often, and have been considering getting a small centrifuge for wringing out my suit without having to trash it in a regular dryer. The laundry struggle is real, man. In some parts of the world, where they normally hang dry clothes, the spin dryers are used on a seasonal basis. People use them during the rainy season, when the humidity is too high for the clothes to line dry without acquiring odors.
I want one.. This could never take the place of a full size washer but, for the in between loads of small kids clothes this is perfect. I live in an apt with no washer,, I hate the laundry mat. But this will def. help me cut back on washing huge loads of clothes

Don't beat down on yourself so much about you sweating allot and your clothes stinking. all humans sweat and smell to a greater or lesser degree. pretty sure you're within normal parameters! looking forward to other vids from you. think p90x will work for someone who needs to loose more than a couple pounds and who is middle aged?
P90X will probably work for almost anyone, but it is really intense, so I would suggest starting by doing stretches and running/jogging for a couple weeks in advance to get yourself ready for it.
Since you can only wash a tiny amount of clothes at a time, how is this saving me money? If I need to wash something that bad, I will just use the sink and roll it up in a towel to blot the water before hanging it up to dry. Look at all the money I saved by not having to buy this little washer and dryer!
Hi from Auz, Best vid I've seen on the washer if you connect the drain this releases the pressure .some science use only HOT water 70 to 85 degrees Celsius NOT cold WATER. Washes under pressure as the rotating HOT water expands the trapped cloths fabric weave allowing easier dirt removal also the air expands as well building even more pressure hence the special lid. So try to get A even ratio of clothes, air and water for best results. Low suds soap best i.e. top loader. SAFTEY first never use boiling or scolding hot water
Considering I'm washing using a bucket & plunger & drying off a ceiling fan this may be worth it. For the price the washer will cost to get fixed I can buy 2 of each of these.
I was thinking the same thing. I pay $3 for a load at the mat, bring it home, hang it up on the line, wait till it dries, and then fold it as I take it down. Easy peazy.
Well on the back of the model he was showing, it did in fact have a cable that would plug into a outlet.. there may be models out there that give the option of running it with batteries, however, using a battery to power a motor that spins a decent amount of weight would drain it really quickly.
christ.. you either have no sense of smell, or have never swam.in a lake day after day. I actually bought this wash machine soley to take csmping. day after day of swimming in a lake, hanging your swim stuff on the line.. in about 3 days- your stuff REEKS!!! Not anymore. every two days we throw our bathing suits in this thing.. works like a charm!
I think that these machines are great for people who don't have large familys. I also think that they are quite expensive. It would be cheaper to use two 5 gallon buckets with one bucket having holes around it and on the bottom for draining your clothing. I also use a camp laundry handheld plunger that I bought from Amazon to mix my laundry. I have a large family so those machines would not work for me. But they look really nice as long as they do not break. I really like seeing how other people wash their clothing.

Put your hanger through the bottom of your shirt instead of through the neck area. It will stretch that way you're doing

I'm so excited! My wonder-wash and Ninja came in today! Wanting to live in hip areas in NYC on a budget doesn't always get you a washer and dryer (and laundromats have germs, sore backs, and harsh industrial washers). I was already using The Laundress Detergent Wool and Cashmere, to Hand wash my clothing. Hands get tired quickly, plus it takes days to dry looking a mess in your living room. I've had my eye on that little washing machine for a while and came across it a Salvation Army store. It was in perfect condition, still in it's original box and packaging with instructions. We paid 10 dollars (CDN) for it. We gave it a try and it worked like a charm. It was easy, the clothes came out perfectly clean and smelling fresh. Fastest load of laundry I've ever done by far. Now...if I can just get at good deal on that spin dryer...

I think I read that your dryer is either the first or second biggest user of energy in your house. Slash that usage and you'll be saving TONS. If you save $150 per month, these will pay for themselves in no time.

@Sally I've been washing my clothes since a teen learned the difference between detergent and softener the hard way. Ruined some old school football jerseys with screen printed numbers.
Ok, first two words - love mine! I can soak the items as long as I want and the tumble effect is better than the laundromat, because I control it. About 3 min steady back and forth spins does get clothes clean and I can rinse as much as I like, also. We bought ours for a camp where we have our own hot and cold water tub/shower, so, it's worked out great!

I have the Wonder Wash but a larger spin dryer. The washer is so easy to use and does a great job. However, I can't imagine using this for a family; it would take forever. It is wonderful for delicates and panty hose. I still take all sheets, blankets, and bath towels to the laundry. Your wash water was too clear for those clothes you washed to have actually been dirty. I usually rinse twice or until the water is completely clear. Also, I have to wash our Levi's twice to get them completely clean. While it is a handy little little gadget that uses very little water, you are still going to have to use a regular washing machine for all large and bulky items.
It's not meant to be used for a family, that would be too much work for most people. Some families can use it to wash delicates etc.

Thank you, this video is HUGELY helpful. Seeing the spin dryer made the decision for me -- didn't want to hand-wring the laundry. I can wait to wash jeans and big items at the laundromat, but for keeping up with shorts, t-shirts, socks and underwear, this is the ticket.

a butt load of money? that wonder wash is like $50. and that spin dryer is $60. You can get a 5 gallon bucket and a plunger for under $15 and some clothes line for $5 and under. Now that saves you a butt load of money

Having said all that, I do think you are a nice woman for choosing the hard way to clean your clothes, not many women are willing to do so much housework nowadays.

Nicole Dozier besides that, he is washing just a small load and using a lot of water (specially if you consider the water going down the drain waiting for the hot one to come), a lot of detergent (yes, it looks like a small amount but you ar also washing just a small amount of clothes) and he is drying a minimal amount of clothes at a time so he is almost probably using more detergent, more water and more electricity than if he just but a proper washer and a rope to let the clothes dry or something or as you said, if he washed it by hand.
Furthermore I bet that dryer won't last and he will be doing an awful lot of was when he replaces it.
He is probably ruining the planet, not saving it.
You don't need like in your fucking sentence stupid habit right in the long run it saves money it's ok your a woman you wasn't thinking before you typed this.

thank you for leaning off the fence to buy one, my roommate broke the washer. I have 2 catch barrels, and after running or working out I use a propane shower, now with wonder wash, I can take off my nasty assed running clothes, and hang while i'm still outside. thanx again, very informative.

@Elle I've never known any laundry detergent to be milky or white in color...also there was not any bubbles when he drain the the clothing.
@@amberstar203 There is one "milky" laundry detergent--Persil for sensitive skin. Anywho, that being said, this did not look like a bottle or Persil, but did look more like fabric softner. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt and thought there were no suds because he used too little detergent.
Thanks for this helpful review of the Mini Spinner. We already have the Wonder Wash and when I was very young, we often used o roll up clean clothes in clean towels to squeeze the extra water out. That was pretty labor intensive. I much prefer the Mini Spinner, thanks.

hey man used one for years, worked great. but ill share a trick i learned with that, water and air is very important with that because its a pressure washer to much water no air no pressure. push drain in before opening top helps as well, same with rinsing.

Thanks Casey I viewed your video a few weeks ago. I liked your video, the way you described it and demonstrated it. I purchased both the washer and spinner and love it. I have done two loads so far each load were able to hold 2 pairs of jeans and 2 blouses and several undergarments. I love it.

I just bought a small compact washing machine that i can put on my kitchen table because i have back problems so i don't have to bend over all the time to my normal wasmachine and dryer. If you feel inclined to add something to produce agitation, ping pong balls may be a safer alternative.
When my husband and I lived on an RV, we STRONGLY considered this setup for our laundry! We were pregnant and cloth diapers were the ONLY option for us (I would NEVER buy "trash" (aka disposable diapers); the daily trips to the laundromat were not possible and we were 100% on board with this washer/spinner combo! Great video!
There's a sucker born every day. Buy a five-gallon bucket at the Home Depot for the exact same result at a cost of 3-4 dollars. Or do it in the sink/tub for free. The spinner looked nifty, but it's NOT a dryer, it's not NEARLY as powerful as the centrifuge in a full size washer, quality is questionable and if it lasts more than a couple of weeks it's only good for REALLY small loads.
I point is this is a lot less labor intensive than using a bucket or washing by hand & not everyone has a bunch of clothes so this would be ideal in certain situations but obviously not for everyone. I personally wouldn't get it but I works for some

Except that a 5 gallon bucket will not give you the same result at all. You can do it in a sink/tub for free, hand washing does work even better than washing machines if done correctly, but you'll have to spend a lot more time.
I have one. Really need more soap then that. Great for emergency also. It does wash good. I spin it back and forth few second on one turn the turn the other way.

I've washed 3 of my 16 yr old son's heavy hoodies at a time, but only spin one at a time in the dryer. To get them balanced, I hold the hoodie at the waist and let the sleeves fall toward the hood. If I keep the sleeves with the hood as I put them in the dryer, it seems to distribute the weight more evenly..

I'm thinking use the bucket method for washing, since it's simple and inexpensive, but I'm really thinking that the spin dryer might be worth the investment. It's easy to damage clothes by wringing them, and spinning instead seems much wiser.

That is Impressive I must say. But what would be super impressive, is something like that which could be folded into something smaller for easy storage. Now, off course, to design anything that holds any volume of water would need to be resistant to leaking. therefore, to design such a device to be foldable and remain resistant to leaking, would be no easy task. Which would make such an invention all the more impressive.

For 100 bux, you can find excellent used full-size washer dryer combos. I mean, this rotating jug and salad spinner wound't even hold a single pair of JEANS! Sears had the right idea for a REAL portable washer 75 years ago. A miniature wringer-washer. Hold 5 gallons of water. Has a hand wringer for squeezing out the water. I just missed out on a PERFECTLY running 50 year-old one for 40 bux locally. Fit on a counter top.This is just environmental stupidity!

I've been reading through user comments on amazon and looking through youtube reviews for 2-3 hand-wash products out there (these 2 in particular), and your video was both informative and thankfully succinct! So many of the others were 15+ minutes long and yet less helpful.
My intended purposes for the products are similar to your example: Need quick turn-around washing for my very limited inventory of workout clothes (which I sweat like a pig in) and my poor-quality daily work clothes which just get butchered in the traditional washer-dryer and really only need touch-up washing every so often. I also like to go swimming often, and have been considering getting a small centrifuge for wringing out my suit without having to trash it in a regular dryer.
The laundry struggle is real, man. Cheers from another small apartment-confined consumer! :)

In some parts of the world, where they normally hang dry clothes, the spin dryers are used on a seasonal basis. People use them during the rainy season, when the humidity is too high for the clothes to line dry without acquiring odors.
The dryer runs off of electricity.

I want one.. This could never take the place of a full size washer but, for the in between loads of small kids clothes this is perfect. I live in an apt with no washer,, I hate the laundry mat. But this will def. help me cut back on washing huge loads of clothes

Don't beat down on yourself so much about you sweating allot and your clothes stinking. all humans sweat and smell to a greater or lesser degree. pretty sure you're within normal parameters! looking forward to other vids from you. think p90x will work for someone who needs to loose more than a couple pounds and who is middle aged?
P90X will probably work for almost anyone, but it is really intense, so I would suggest starting by doing stretches and running/jogging for a couple weeks in advance to get yourself ready for it.

Since you can only wash a tiny amount of clothes at a time, how is this saving me money? If I need to wash something that bad, I will just use the sink and roll it up in a towel to blot the water before hanging it up to dry. Look at all the money I saved by not having to buy this little washer and dryer!
Hi from Auz, Best vid I've seen on the washer if you connect the drain this releases the pressure .some science use only HOT water 70 to 85 degrees Celsius NOT cold WATER. Washes under pressure as the rotating HOT water expands the trapped cloths fabric weave allowing easier dirt removal also the air expands as well building even more pressure hence the special lid. So try to get A even ratio of clothes, air and water for best results. Low suds soap best i.e. top loader. SAFTEY first never use boiling or scolding hot water

Considering I'm washing using a bucket & plunger & drying off a ceiling fan this may be worth it. For the price the washer will cost to get fixed I can buy 2 of each of these.

I was thinking the same thing. I pay $3 for a load at the mat, bring it home, hang it up on the line, wait till it dries, and then fold it as I take it down. Easy peazy.
Well on the back of the model he was showing, it did in fact have a cable that would plug into a outlet.. there may be models out there that give the option of running it with batteries, however, using a battery to power a motor that spins a decent amount of weight would drain it really quickly.
Throw your clothes in the lake and take them out again. Bam.

I actually bought this wash machine soley to take csmping. day after day of swimming in a lake, hanging your swim stuff on the line.. in about 3 days- your stuff REEKS!!! Not anymore. every two days we throw our bathing suits in this thing.. works like a charm!

I think that these machines are great for people who don't have large familys.
I also think that they are quite expensive.
It would be cheaper to use two 5 gallon buckets with one bucket having holes around it and on the bottom for draining your clothing.
I also use a camp laundry handheld plunger that I bought from Amazon to mix my laundry.
I have a large family so those machines would not work for me.
But they look really nice as long as they do not break.
I really like seeing how other people wash their clothing.
