  • There's more than corn in Indiana! In this adventure, Quenten, Amanda, Burke and I stop at Indiana Beach on the way home from our Missouri Road Trip! This boardwalk amusement park has a very classic vibe, featuring several roller coasters, amusement rides, games, and other unique attractions.
Highlights of our visit include rides on coasters like Steel Hawk, Tig'rr, Cyclone, and Cornball Express; braving the spooky corridors of Dr. Frankenstein's Haunted Castle, the park's haunted walkthrough attraction; blasting pirates on the Den of Lost Thieves dark ride; taking a boat tour around Lake Shafer aboard the Shafer Queen; screaming and soaring on the Indiana Beach Sky Coaster; and hanging out at the beach/waterpark. Although we didn't get to ride it, we also got a peek at the progress on Indiana Beach's newest roller coaster, All American Triple Loop!

I definitely thought in my head that this park had much more theming than it does..I was shocked how carnival-y it feels. BUT the coaster lineup looks great & I loved the story about the locals you shared at the end!! Glad yall had a blast:)

Yeah, the only themed rides are the dark ride and the haunted house. But at the same time, it perpetuates that classic amusement park vibe. It comes across as a bit "gritty", but it's really part of the charm 🤪

I heard about this park last year and it looks really cool! From what I saw on another CZcams video, it seems to have an old school vibe and I love parks like that. I’ve been enjoying this series of videos from your Missouri trip, the Midwest has some great parks.

Exactly! If you love those old-school parks and don't mind that it's a bit unpolished, you'll have a great time here. And thank you! The Midwest really does have some cool places.

Glad you liked Indiana Beach, staffing is a little bit of an issue but they run more during the weekend. Yes, most coasters are on one train ops for different reasons cornball cant run two, locosumo can run two but its not very easy to run two (It goes down in any kind of precip too because of the lift tires at the end, it also received re-tracking in the middle of the season in 2023 for reasons i dont know), steel hawg is on one because its a prototype and its wheels are slightly different than the rest of the El Locos and they have to get them specially made. I'm not really a local, I'm just a massive fan of the park from not to far away suburban Chicago.

Fair enough! I’m looking forward to going back, so as long as I can get those coasters I missed last time I’ll be happy

I hope Gene Staples gives Niagara Amusement Park similar treatment to Indiana Beach! Would love to have something like that closer to home!

Me too! I feel like he's putting a lot of effort into IB now, but I can see Niagara Amusement Park getting some huge improvements once he's done all of that.

@AdventuresWithParker They already hinted on the Serpent getting ready to welcome guest but they didn't officially announced it.

The Galaxi coaster isn't new though. It's been there since atleast the early 90s when I was a kid.

There was a very similar (possibly identical) coaster that operated at the park from 1973 to 2013, but Cyclone was just installed in 2022! This one previously operated in Mexico as a travelling coaster 🤣

Is it worth it heard many rides were down due to staffing issues

    • @AdventuresWithParker

Great question, and I think that’s gonna have to do with how you approach theme parks. Despite a good number of rides being closed, we still had a great visit because we were able to enjoy the vibe and atmosphere of the place. We found it fun just to walk around and hang out on the beach for a bit. But if you’re really intent on getting every credit, a day like the one we visited might be disappointing. I do get the impression that this year will be better operations wise, but either way, if you go in with an open mind, it’s a fun place.
