Submitted mine soon after your Open Podcast this afternoon, Pat. Yay for me! :) I wasnât quite sure how best to showcase my idea, but decided to set it up more like I would the audio intro to the podcast itself (though Iâll tighten it up for the real deal later.) I have already been planning to start this in February, so your invitation came at the perfect time. you should have stated it is open to US residents only. i got so excited to learn about this contest, i even did it. it took all of my courage to do it and get it out there. if you manage to get a look at it anyway, its called living with epilepsy. good look everyone else. this is a Awsome this is a amazing idea.
Question for Pat, or anyone who has already submitted! In the video Pat says our audio file should explain what the podcast is about, who it's for, what would be the big benefit, who we might like to have on as guests, and a little bit about ourselves...BUT, I was reading the submission guidelines on the website and it says the audio file should be a condensed version of what an actual episode would be.
Pat also mentions 3-5 minutes in length, however the guidelines say no more than 10 minutes..
Any input from Pat or others who have already submitted?

As a subscriber and avid watcher/listener of the channel i got all pumped about this contest and was rearing to go, but then I read I am not eligible as I am not a resident. So disappointed. Love still from Trinidad and Tobago.
Just received an email stating that my submission was received but "locked" and I can't get a response.
I just started my podcast in November but could use some help. Could I pitch mine?
By submitting everyone ends up a winner, they made their first step, their first recording and that's scary.
I do have one question though, it says it has to be a new podcast, no episodes posted, but is that just at the time of submission or until the contest ends? Could I, for example, record an episode today and post tomorrow and still be eligible?

Hello Pat, quick question. My podcast is about my personal experiences and my question is am I signing over all rights of this podcast and potential earnings to you through this contest?
The terms of the contest state: "By completing and submitting the Submission Form, Entrant grants Sponsor a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, royalty free license to use the Submission and all audio recordings in any media for any purpose."
My understanding of this is that they can use the recordings from your podcast submission, but don't own creative rights or have any claim to future earnings.
Would love to hear from Pat and the SPI team on this as well!

Non U.S. are just not eligible for the prizes due to legal reasons unfortunately, but trying to work this out.

If I use my phone, and record on the voice Memos app..how do I launch that ? I am not tech savvy but I want to enter, I could use some help with how to get recording from phone to link.
Do you have a Google drive or a Dropbox that you can upload the file to? You just have to give us a link to that and thatâll be good!
In your list of recordings in the Voice Memos app, select the recording you want to address. You should see an icon right justified, little blue circle with three dots. That will open a menu where you can select Share. Share to your Mail app to include it as an attachment (this works well to test the procedure with a quick 5 second recording), Airdrop if you have a Mac (will go to your Downloads folder), or Dropbox if you have one setup. With Dropbox you can setup the file to be available to public and submit that link with your entry. This is using iPhone/iOS15, since you mentioned the Voice Memos app by name, hope this helps.

Problem is youâre focusing it on you: your voice, your questions that you donât know yet, etc.
Your podcast is not about you, itâs who itâs for. When you mail that and serve them, how your voice sounds makes no difference. You got this!
