Calamity is my favorite Critical Role game besides early arcs Campaign 2. It was such a tightly woven narrative and hit so many satisfying dramatic marks for me. IMO it's the most cinematic Exandria story they've played and if they ever adapt anything for a live-action movie, Calamity should be it.
I would beg, borrow, steal, and sacrifice on dark altars to see Calamity get animated. And as much as I love Titmouse and Phil Bourassa's designs? Give me Calamity in full-on Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust art style. It would be PHENOMENAL.
It should have an animation inspired by the charcter art from the episodes.
The love Brennan have for Matt and their shared need to tell stories is a great thing to listen to. I love both d20 & CR for the stories they tell and it has been a pleasure to see the two factions bleed into each other.

I love that you can really tell how Larp/especially running Larps at camp for kids has influenced his DMing and player-character style. There's this Larp community saying "play to uplift" which is basically "choose whatever will help everyone around you create the best story rather than focusing on yourself because that helps everyone and you."
I love the way he talks about character vs player motivations as far as how characters want to get to the end goal, but as players you want that conflict, and thats definitely a lesson you have to learn early on in Larp that losing in fiction usually is winning in storytelling
I feel like Crown of Candy would have to be stop motion to be realised with the beauty and the silliness of the show itself

Damn, I wish I could turn off the analytical part of my brain more often. To be able to flip between a writer's perspective and full child-like suspension of disbelief like Brennan describes is a real gift.

Caitlin clearly knows their stuff, asks good questions, and is actually excited to know more about TTRPG. That's why I'm begging ScreenRant to get her a decent camera, microphone and lighting. This looks and sounds like a school project.
It's not a school project, it's a zoom call. This is what D20's lockdown seasons looked and sounded like. I'm sure it would be of a much higher quality if they were filming on set, but I doubt Brennan has time to drive down to a studio for a 30 minute interview.

The Bahn Mi call back during a Neverafter Adventuring Party just reminded me what I loved about the Zoom stuff. There was no logic to be had, and they were obsessed with food ^_^

My personal immediate fantasy of these seasons as adaptations:
Unsleeping City as a half and half adaptation like Cool World OT or Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Crown of Candy animated closer to a Hannah Barbarra production but updated and cleaned up.

I really love watching Brennan. What an awesome person. I am so glad he and Critical Role are doing these crossovers. I hope we get to see more of Brennan's projects and he eventually comes up with his own game system and we get animated series for Dimension 20.

I couldn't believe nobody mentioned Starstruck for animation! Obviously the marvelous Elaine Lee would have to be consulted & have to approve, but you can't tell me we don't all want to see that show!
I could see a first season with either Starstruck or FH, then jumping to the other end of the spectrum with Neverafter or CoC, then ease back to Unsleeping City. So... I guess i just agree with Brennan, give us all of them 😅 - especially the sidequests like ACoFaF, Misfits & Magic... just all the D20!! ❤❤❤
Always love the energy that Brennan Lee Mulligan brings to all of his projects. D&D players just make incredible story tellers, whether its Ed Greenwood or Matt Mercer.

I don't have any friends who have also seen GoT, HotD, CR Campaign 1, EXU Calamity, Crown of Candy, but what Brennan about it feeling like all the threads coming together with Ravening War resonated 100% with me

I remember in CoC Ally telling an NPC that Liam thought they could 'really pack it in'. and Liam told Annabel Cheddar that his family would spread her 'like cheese on a cracker' but when did Liam say 'slam it down big style?' Anyone with major CoC knowledge of lore remember that one? When Matt said it in episode 1 I fell on the floor. So good. Great interview!

i would pay real money for a live action unsleeping city tv series, styled like disney's sorcerer's apprentice; i love animation just as much as anyone but i do think some of the campaigns are rooted enough in "reality" to be an incredible live action piece

Fan Theory: With CR releasing, not 1 but 2, new TTRPG gaming systems...AND having already announced a new ongoing campaign with one of them... I expect Campaign 4 to switch systems and begin using the other (Daggerfell?). That would mean far too much work for 1 "team" of players to continue to run multiple weekly-series campaigns. With all the collaborations that CR and Dimension 20 are doing with multiple cast members, I'm predicting that the Dimension 20 cast will be joining CR on their channel in perpetuity for the start of Campaign 4. They will be able to run 2 independent campaigns across multiple TTRPG platforms and mix and match players for each, as well as continue to run one shot's or mini campaigns to break up the main stories.
TL;DR: Prediction: CR+D20 join forces to form one super TTRPG channel for content.

Cuz it's a zoom call and his mic is probably on his headphones or at best the laptop so those kinda suck. Idk what's the deal with the interviewers mic tho cuz I can't see it. It sounds like an actual mic that got distorted from the zoom call tho the levels are different than a computer internal mic. But that could also just be that her acoustics are weird cuz it sounds echoey in that room (analyzing this way too much lol)
