Before I retired, I was a bank property manager. I was visiting one of my locations when an irate customer was making a scene at the teller line. I was in the manager's office and she asked me to walk out with her when she spoke to the customer. I had my nameplate on and the customer zeroed in on me instead of the manager. He cursed me out for about 5 minutes and then said the magic words, I'll just close my accounts. The manager spoke up and said no problem and headed for her office. The guy was back peddling and apologizing but it didn't do him any good at all. The manager closed out every account he had and told him she would refund all his money once any checks written prior to that day had cleared. You should have seen the look on his face.
What do you mean the apple didn't fall far from the tree? That apple didn't even leave the tree
As someone who has made cocktails their entire life I can safely say this : a trained monkey can make cocktails. It is one of the easiest things in the world to do. The only thing an expert will be doing differently is looking cooler while they do it and being faster, also generally better at making special orders. Take glass, fill to top with ice. Prepare alcohol mixture, fill half of glass. Fill other half with juice/soda mixture. Use less or more of alcohol mixture depending on customer's preference or when otherwise specified in the recipe. You're done. A robot could do this. In fact, there are places in the world where robots do this.
There is a fine balance in customer service between giving a one-time credit or refund and doing it every time a customer calls in. At some point you have to draw the line - I see it all the time. As to the teacher, if the mom cannot be bothered to check work every night or once a week, it is only the child's fault along with the parent. Period.
@Marilyn Newman good on you! 😂👍
@Marilyn Newman oh god my least favorite words were I'm volunteering you.
Bank customer service story: that was so enjoyable. 😆😂😆😂😆😂
The night manager and the OP got a bonus.
The first story brings a smile to my face. We had a customer who was not happy about a returned item. No need to get stupid. Just ask for the fees back. You never know you might get them back.
That shocking moment when parents realize, they have to be involved in their kids life! 😱
so true, and sad :(
As a teacher, I approve the last story 😂😂
As a teacher, I don't approve the last story. While OP stopped Diva's mother from being a pain in the ass, (s)he failed at getting her help and as a result Diva didn't get better. Not that bad for someone starting their teaching career, but I still wouldn't count that as a win. In almost all cases parents aren't your enemies -- they want the best for their child, and the teacher wants the same (only for all the children in a class). If you make parents your friends instead of enemies, it can be surprisingly effective (though not a panacea of course).
As a teacher I do approve. Some kids are way beyond helping.
Maybe, but the OP didn't check whether this particular kid was one of them. We don't even know the age of Diva, many kids can become more (or less) disciplined when they age. And working against parents instead of working with them wastes one of the more effective ways to help a child.
Алексей Воропаев Did you not listen to the part where the mother did absolutely nothing to help her own child? She probably expected the teacher to just pass her kid without the kid actually putting in any work. That’s not fair to the other students and a breach of integrity as a teacher. It’s not up to the teacher to raise that child and if the child won’t bother to do the work required to be educated, that’s not the teacher’s fault or responsibility.
@@AuskaDezjArdamaath, it seems to me that mother at first was simply overestimating her daughter's work and later switched to blaming school for "not telling" this to her. It's bad, but happens relatively often with parents of children with problems. Often you can still work with them with some success. Such parents are better than the ones who don't care about their child's learning at all.
And I believe that motivating children to learn is part of the job description. They are not adults, you can't just give 8 or even 14 y/o a book and expect them to learn. And you should try to motivate ones that are not motivated already too. Sometimes they can and do become better!
_When you want to do some malicious compliance but in your job it could end up killing someone._
Out of curiosity, if you don't mind me asking, why is this the case?
@@Graystripe000 I'm I construction equipment operator. I operate things like excavators and bulldozers. It is very easy to kill someone with these things.

Dammm dude. How/what the hell do when you have a dickhead boss??
You're channel is why I use ad blockers
I have a chrome extension that lets me fast forward up to x16 speed.
It works on ads. I barely even notice them anymore
I work in a customer call centre and they all have been waiting to get through for hours. One of the classic ones was waiting 13 hours. wtf? This was 2 minutes past 8 in the morning. We had opened at 8. Pointed this out that as we closed at 6pm the night before...we had actually been closed for 14 hours and he must have been listening to messages stating we were closed and to call back during office hours.
Thing is, immediately after this one, at 12 minutes past 8, Note I had been waiting for a call to come in for 2-3 minutes the next customer claimed she had been 20 minutes to get through. Again I pointed out that this was not possible. Cmr accused me of calling her a liar. I said not at all and again pointed out that we had only been open for 10 minutes and I had been waiting for a call for 2 of those minutes. Soon shut up
I've dropped banks due to creative fees. Had a low balance in checking. Picked up bread and milk on the way home. $30 overdraft fee, Not declined. picked up a beverage at convenience store the following day. Another $30 overdraft fee. Made a $200 deposit. Spent $160. Got another overdraft fee. Never notified me. Requested they not honor overdrafts and decline the card. Sorry can't do that. Gladly closed all accounts. Cascading $30 fees for a $2 overdraft. Banks don't decline small purchases. It's a business plan. Sorry, no thanks. Moved to a credit union. End of that. 90 bucks in charges for a milk and soda. BS end of business with them. In the story the 10% early termination is again a crazy consumer unfriendly move. Plenty of money in the bank and getting dinged badly for a late payment. Customer should have been mad about the fees, but glad to never do business with them ever again.
Sounds like why I hate Bank of America. Account was low, but not at $0, deposited pay check of $500+ (inside, not at an ATM), then about an hour later made three separate small purchases and got dinged with overdraft fees each time. This was when they charged increasingly larger fees each time you spent more than you had. (Back in the late 90s / early 00s.)
@@Zuraneve Common practice. Post deposits overnight or end of day and draws immediately. Tough way to learn your deposit was delayed.

Yo, these ads are way too excessive. As soon as the story gets rolling I’ve got to pause my interest to listen to some irrelevant ad. 🙄
What device are you on?
"Stiff Ling Laughter"
Or they might be stifling their laughter. You decide.
No, it's old Chinese emperor Stiff Ling famous for laughing quietly when something is amusing but is socially wrong, fucks sake do people not know anything these days....
6:00 10% fee for early access?!? I'm going to agree with the customer here: the bank OP works for is a bloodsucker.
Only ever use a credit union. Better service, usually no service fees. Still insured as a bank is against loss of your funds. WAAAAAAAAAYYYYY better.
Cocktails can be pretty complicated or even just messed up even if you're a little sloppy. With their work ethic it sounds like the "experts" weren't hired for their expertise.
It is amazing how many experts don't know anything.
Time to call John TAFFER that bar rescue
The apple never left that tree, it was too lazy.
Heard Bar Story before, and I still shake my head in disbelief at post-its (or whatever) of cocktails in the prep area.
What I think hurst him most, is that he suddenly has no more Bank Account. And there is no way for him to Recover this account at that bank.
Not having a Bank account, really hurts your Business.
In the bank story. He may have asked for the account closures, but if a bank could just remove money from a savings/checking account upon closure to pay off a different line of credit no one would have credit cards and bank accounts in the same place.... (Not a lawyer, but that may be legally questionable at least)
It's called a setoff and is indeed legal, at least in the US (though states like California do have restrictions on it). The bank is taking the money it owes you (checking/savings) and offsetting it with the money you owe them (credit cards).
@@nathanaeld.striker7191 according to the Wikipedia article a "bankers set off" cannot be exercised if one of the accounts is a loan account. They took his savings to pay off a credit card. I would think that constitutes a loan.
Yes, cocktails are not easy until you have been trained.
I think that this has to be my favorite video of yours so far. 💕
was he wearing the relevant safety equipment while making the cocktails? its very dangerous work. if you arnt properly trained you could potentially get a spinal injury
M loving it
THx for the video’s mate
If he told me to kms i would say: "I would do it gladly but can you help me because i've tried and failed"
Oooo I had a thought, for like a large milestone or somert make a complication of the best stories....
Man your voice just brings out so much joy. Keep it up with these videos!
tentacle rape.... ok
Haha, "stiffling?"
Eh, my issue with the cocktail one is this sounds like an illogical manager. So would have just fired the OP on the spot for back talk.
Love a great bartender story. I have almost 25 years of these stories. LOL 🍻🍻🍸🍸
Please share if you think that we will find any of them funny and you are comfortable with sharing.
@@amadkmimi1144 I'll try to get them to you. I take care of an older gentleman (another source of stories) so after bed time your on. Thanks for asking.🙂
Same. 22 years in Hospitality industry has taught me to be patient under pretty much any circumstance. I have also indulged in a little MC.
I hope that b&$t&@d's club in the second story went out of business...If you don't give your employees a chance to learn how to do more tasks/jobs as they work, leave a *very* important job to a handful of people who don't even show up to do it, and then scream/yell at your employees when they take the initiative to do the important jobs when they *clearly* have the skill to, you deserve to go under!
Especially in circumstances where you're overwhelmed, and understaffed....That kind of treatment, not just towards his staff, but to his customers, is a *surefire* way to get low customer ratings, customers who don't come back, employees who quit in droves and *loads* of people who want refunds on their orders!
Actually bartending , especially when it comes to mixed drinks and cocktails , is an art form and someone who doesn't know what to do can mess things up, even basic training in mixing drinks isn't enough for the more complex drinks
No, no it isn't
Only problem is that he said the cocktails offered were all very basic and had instructions at the station, plus he had previous experience mixing drinks from other jobs but the manager wouldn't listen.
@@FoxDren are you a bartender? Did you go to school to learn how to do it properly?
I'm not taking about pouring a beer or pouring a shot because that is basic stuff that anyone can do.
No I'm talking about actual mixed drinks and cocktails, that takes several ingredients to make, things you don't see in your average corner bar.
My comment was towards the person reading the stories because he mentioned how easy bartending can be.
I know what was said in the story and personally I feel like the manager was an idiot, because the OP knew what to do and was actually helping them make money.
Cocktails in a pub Vs cocktails in a high end bar. I guarantee pub goers will get what they pay for if the mixologist can read.
6 ads? Really?

Oh yeah. Love the cocktail story
The cocktail story reminds me of grand blue... That anime is amazing

Most cocktails are easy as fuck. Some are difficult to get right.
If that is the case ill take a black velvet.
I never pay $30 in interest. Usually mine comes to about $5 - $6...I'd love to know how much he owed...

I love your videos! New subscriber. I have noticed a few mispronunciations though.. maybe read once more before recording. Example: Stifling pronounced as “stiffle-ing”. At 18:00
Maybe I’m too picky but when there’s dozens of reddit youtubers out there, I’d like to lean towards the ones with better grammar.
For the bar one you need certification to handle alcohol and a food handlers depending where you live, if he had those or given it to his employer then it's a different story. Lots of reasons why the manager would say no to that.
He was already serving alcoholic drinks though?
He said he was serving pints, vodla red bulls and wine so the manager had no excuse.
@@Yos115 exactly, it sounds like the _specially trained_ cocktail _experts_ were hand-picked and likely selected more for their appearance than their skill or experience mixing drinks. The _special training_ would have been an in-house thing meant solely to keep those that didn't fit the image management wanted at the cocktail station away.
Well I know some places won't let you work at a certain station or serve if you aren't qualified or certified in house for certain things which I'm not saying is right but it does happen or could be the manager is an a hole who knows
Like #500. Better than any asmr
There can be legal reasons for having to be trained to make mixed drinks in some states. So either manager being butt at beginning or breaking law at end.
Not just that but you have to know by sight you just poured 2 oz or 1 shot or whatever without precise measuring or either they won't get what they're paying for, get way more than they're paying for or have the recipe taste off
making cocktails are rely hard to make bartenders make it look easy but it's not

Barely any comments sucks
The principal probably ordered her to do that because he knew this thing will happen.
Actually cocktails do require intensive training and experience and depending the complicity of the drink there are some that require decades of experience and training and even then there is high possibility that they get it wrong... for instance the Commonwealth with its mere 71 ingredients, or the (perfect) rainbow where you layer different sugar content liqueurs to form as rainbow, but the hard part comes with getting layers to stay unmixed. Other cocktails cant take days to prepare like classic Bloodymary, or Empellón cocina's FAT-WASHED mezcal.
Cocktail making is not much of a profession but art form and chemistry lesson on how things interact, hence its not simple.
Sure you local middle class customer based bar can wip out some great drinks and even the not wanting to walk in crappy bar, but you wont be getting any of these high end fancy drinks from there.
Hahaha ive done the "ill be closing my accounts" before but it was because they were trying to fuck me over and i would have cancelled it but i didnt really want to.
I ended up better off than i was initially. Although i was really nice about it so they actually wanted to help me 😂
Being a bartender is a lot more complex than just following instruction. Yes there are bartending classes.
