It ALWAYS pays to be polite to the hotel staff. In so many ways. A little respect and courtesy greases many a wheel.
"I don't care if your stupid hotel is full!" How does this dude think that works. A hotel has a specific number of rooms. If the rooms are FULL, there are no more rooms. I don't... understand how he doesn't get that
Man: "I want that room!"
The Sickness one is good, but mine is better. I was feeling crap, leg hurting and I had some kind of rash appear overnight. So I called in sick for work that day. Booked an appointment at the doctors that same morning. Anyway 8.30am rolls around and I get a phone call from the operations manager, demanding that I turn up to work right now or face disciplinary action. I informed him that I would be there after my doctors appointment at 9.30am. He told me that i needed to come to his office when I arrive and explain why I had not turned up for work this morning and called in sick at 5.30am.
lol i see the name piccolo and all i can think of is piccolo from DBZ carrying the bags to the suite :)
Not having a fever DOES NOT MEAN YOU AREN'T CONTAGIOUS!!! They are not related.
OP was working at Chipotle, and kept getting sick.
Nobody going to explain what the 3rd bowl was for?
As a manager and front desk agent of a hotel, that is exactly how it happens. If you are polite, you might just get the upgrade. If you are rude, you get exactly what you ask for, sans discounts, and somebody else gets the upgrade.
I once worked at a Pizza Hut where the general manager pulled something like that last story. I was sick and called a couple hours in advance of my shift to say so, but the GM insisted that I had to show up anyway so she could see for herself whether I was too sick to work.

It's like the three seashells...
Never piss off the receptionist at a hotel. They are just like the stewards/stewardess, they will make sure someone else gets the privileges while the asshole customer gets nothing or shafted.
If a Man Argue with me and says "We want doulde sized beds and nothing else" i would move the double-Size beds outside and if they complain i will tell them thats what the man said.
I can second that Chipotle story. Calling off sick is like jumping through a ring of fire. showed up to work with a cold and flu a few times because I didn't want to get fired. Worked full shifts every time too. Left as soon as I could.
Is the Manager of the last story a Plague Priest of Nurgle because he ordered OP to show up to work contagious at an imperial food distribution center reeks of heresy to me. 🐺
When they said a piccolo I keep just picturing Piccolo from DBZ being the giant green Namekian that he is taking their luggage.
Screw a removable plate/retainer, back in fifth grade, my GF had her (supposedly not removable) palate brace (or whatever it's called, it basically tried to widen her mouth because she had a very arched palate) come loose. So, she looked like she was chewing gum as she tried to get it back in place without sticking her fingers in her mouth. As such, she was told to spit it out. She explained, principal insisted. Her response? "How about this: I'll pay you ten dollars, spit it out, and you pay me double what it costs to get it or a replacement back in my mouth. Deal?"
I worked at chipotle and that last story isnt wrong. I got food poisoning all the time after eating there to be honest. Our store brought in 60k a week, only about 6.5k went into peoples wages, and abut 20-30k for food and operating at most. They could afford to hire more people but that would cut into corporate profit. I also ended up doing the managers jobs because they refused to do them and insisted on sitting in the office facetiming their s/o instead of helping. Chipotle is awful, not fresh and the food can sit in the fridge for a week before it is used. Half the vegetables we got were rotten and we were told to use them, etc. I dont eat chipotle anymore
