A small fun fact. To anyone that doesn't know, this bike is also where the engine for the DS/JR80 came from. Suzuki just de-tuned it, heavier flywheel, different porting and shrunk the intake and exhaust to tame it down to make it more manageable for young kids new to riding.
We used to mount these engine in to Suzuki PV's in Finland :D I used to ride circles around the police with mine when they drove by and heard that it was no damn moped they just passed by lol
My best Christmas present i ever got in 1981 rm80 i am 52 now ,what a bike only place you could ride these back then was Sleepy Hollow PA in . I like to buy it and just hang it up in my basement, i came home 1 day and my pop says look at your forks.I thought i broke them at first all bummed out ,and he had tapped them and put air shocks on them i was speechless really for back then it was epic lol 😄 Thanks for showing this Kap
I don’t deny my son anything either my father said you want it go work for it so I did I pushed a lawn mower and weed wacker through the neighborhood every weekend did just that and bought my first bike!! 🤙🏻
I just restored a 1979 RM 80 N that has been sitting for 40 years Got a new motor sue to the old one is in pieces, and some minor stuff but other than that it"s all original, didn"t even need to change the wheelbearings after all these years.
My first bike was an 83 RM 80, I learnt to ride on that bike! To this day I still don't know why but it would not hit power band at all ever! Even when my mates older brother rode it, he could not get it to hit band! Probably a blessing in disquise looking back at it now 😆
@Fernando Capelinha when I had my 1981 RM-80 my pops rode it up the back alley and when he got done he said that little bike would climb a telephone pole if you could hang on to it.. that's a wicked little bike!
I bought an 80’s RM80 when I was in my 30’s to fix and sell. I ate shit on that thing in my back yard. They are not meant for 6’2 200+ adults. It wheeled over like a light switch.
My friends little brother used to outrun the road pirates on one of those ! They do rip. He used to fly sideways around the corner in front of our house spraying rocks with the pirates in chase ! He never got caught . Ever !
Nothing beats a classic rm80 the hotter thay get the faster thay go definitely will keep up with the newer bikes if not thay will rip past the newer ones nothing better than a classic rm80 or cr80 YZ80 great video sr this museum collection is nothing but dime pieces 💯🇦🇺
Badass and gorgeous. I remember you talking about Brad Lackey signing it, in an earlier video about it, about a week or so ago??? Bike is sick and looks like mint condition. The autograph .makes it even more desirable. It would be hard for me to part with a bike like that, but I also know that when you have a big business to run, and have so many employees, you gotta do what ya gotta do, to keep it running and afloat. 😂🤣 Crazy getting on that bike hard inside..Lmao, but when you have a showroom that big, anything can be possible. Lol
I can just imagine what it would have been like to own one of these back when I was 13. Instead of a Honda CT Trail 70. Which was fun also though. The only things better at that time were Honda SL 70s and the Yamaha mini enduro 60. Those little yamaha's were the coolest.
I had a 1981 Suzuki RM-80 and loved that bike! I actually put a down payment on Yamaha YZ-80 because it had the plastic tank & mono shock rear suspension but the Yammerhammer shop sold it to another buyer!, 😡🤬I wasn't happy about that but they delivered a new Suzuki RM-80 to my Parents house. I've pretty much owned Suzuki RM's most of my childhood & as a young adult.
Wow is that clean! Most bikes you demo I'd say to myself yeah it's pristine but I'd still ride it....that one I would have to park by the fireplace with crimetape around it because it's a crime to ride something that minty.
😈😈😈😈Hows those old bike s back in the day were the sh#t and extremely durable .. but the cr's just reved that little harder in ban and won on the world stage 😈😈😈😈
I love the vintage RM’s. They give me the warm fuzzy feeling of my youth seeing them.

I've had people warn me about scams like this although I'm sure the Kaplans are NOT scammers so sorry Ken & Family if this is not a scammer.
Got a used basket case I rebuilt a 1991 RM80 water cooled for my kids. Faster than my 1978 125 .
Awesome bikes. Never broke down ..
I had an 86 yz 80 when I was a kid and it was the funnest bike I've ever owned!
Thumbs up for the little RM good memories on that bike.
I always had a thing for 80's and 85's, there just so much fun to ride and sound so good. I'd take an 80 and use that as a pitbike before a 110
I bought an 80’s RM80 when I was in my 30’s to fix and sell. I ate shit on that thing in my back yard. They are not meant for 6’2 200+ adults. It wheeled over like a light switch.

There was a girl that had an rm 80 that rode at local sand pit. She was the boss on that 80 while we rode lowly ct 70's and xr 75's.
I have a nice 1979 RM 80 and many other 79, 1980 mini monsters., I just got a 1980 YZ 100!
Fuggin beaut mate!
You can make a track in there.Friday night mini series..NBC sports presents...We need more local track coverage throughout this country..
I'd dream of owning one way back when.
Sweet RM 👍👍
Talk about bringing me back, I got a brand new RM 80 in 79. Square fenders!
I think I may still have my Suzuki riding shirt, yellow with blue stripes on the sleeves
Hard jump the beat stomach drop soon as I saw that thing oh my Lord
Used to watch Brad Lackey racing in the USGP at Carlsbad raceway back in the early 80's. Sadly the track is now a business park.

Until a 2011 KTM-300 xc looked at me the wrong way so I had to make a move on that Katoom! Decent woods and single track 2-stroke.

That tank was on the 1979 model. The 1978 had a different tank.
A friend had one of these and it was a ripper.
Legend 😂💪🏻
I've always wondered if RM stands for revving machine...?
Not a zuk fan but, soundz grrrrrreat!!!
What year?
Probably never happen but please bring back the open class /500 cc class 2 stroke class.
Suzuki started doing the blue & yellow in 1979. The 125 was ugly that year. They had steel tanks for years. What year is this?
Hey hey Kenny how many times do I have to tell you you're not allowed to ride your bike inside the house😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
What year
Wow is that clean! Most bikes you demo I'd say to myself yeah it's pristine but I'd still ride it....that one I would have to park by the fireplace with crimetape around it because it's a crime to ride something that minty.
