Funny enough, it's the other way around. We have binocular vision, while cameras use monocular. Simply put, our FOV is both rectangular and distorted by our focus. This means that objects look thinner. With monocular vision, FOV is circular (or close to such), and has no distortion from eyes focusing.
Basically, while, mathematically, cameras are correct and (mostly) keep proportions, our brains are already used to our sight.

Some context in the italian ambulances. While they are italian, they are specifically made for Capri, a beautiful island near Naples. The island is pretty hilly so the streets are really really narrow almost everywhere. They even have some narrow busses which look VERY sketchy to ride on trust me, especially near 200m cliffs
0:40 It's extra funny to me because I literally just went to a job fair at the nearby Tech college for Volvo. In case you didn't know, Volvo invented the seat belt in 1959 (of course I didn't know that till today) But it's really interesting that we watched a whole short video presenting the challenges that they've faced with people being angry at seatbelts , thinking they impacted freedom, and of course knowing what we know now about how important they are for our lives.

A few years back, a family friend was driving through canada with his family. Great guy, awesome family. They hit a patch of black ice and he was the only one not wearing a seatbelt. Got ejected from the vehicle and killed instantly, right in front of his 3 kids and wife. Everyone in the family completely changed after that. When his daughter got married she didn't get to have her dad walk her down the aisle.
Recently there was an accident near my home. It would have been a fairly minor accident, but neither of the 2 drivers involved were wearing seatbelts. They were both ejected from their vehicles, one was killed and the other was permanently crippled.
Statistics show that wearing a seatbelt reduces serious crash-related injury or death by 50% (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, n.d). Despite 90% of americans wearing their seatbelts, 47% of people who die in car crashes weren't wearing their seatbelts (IIHS, n.d). An estimated 15,000 lives are saved each year by seatbelts (NHTSA, n.d).
Just wear the stupid seatbelt.

I'm Italian and I rarely see ambulances like that, but i can see why they exist, Italy does have some insanely narrow streets inside cities and if the problem is so bad the person can't walk or be moved too much, that's so helpful.

I have a friend who's like this. I can't do much when she's in other people's cars but when I'm driving, even if it's less than a mile away, I will say "I'm not moving until you buckle up." She thinks it's funny but most accidents happen less than 15 minutes from your house. It's the familiarity and perceived safety that makes us lower our guard and get hurt.

I live in a country where people laugh at me for wearing a seatbelt. Probably mostly because the country is so poor there's usually like 7 people in a 5 person car and it's extremely unusual to wear one, even when there is room. But yeah, there definitely are tons of people who don't wear a seatbelt out of custom. It's quite sad since it comes from a place of poverty, but still inexcusable.

@@VelanaBlue He was having hair removed. By putting a wax into the nostril a little bit, inserting a stick into the wax and letting it harden, it can be yanked out to remove hair. Not a good idea in the nose as the hair is there for a reason, but lots of people do it. It's very painful, too.
