- In this week's portrait painting video we explore the topics of color & light. I aim to guide you along the development of this painting while talking a bit about using color in portrait painting to describe the light. The flesh tones develop in conjunction with the background color, and each large area of color is examined in relation to one another.

Yupari, for all my subscribers requesting a quick tip for painting portraits, I'm sending a link to this video rather than do a tip myself. Of all the portrait painters on CZcams, you rank tops for sound teaching, masterful painting techniques, clarity and integrity and excellent presentation as to filming. Thank you for sharing your process.
Thank you for your kind words!!
Brilliant tutorial as usual Yupari, love your videos! thanks!!!
Great demo and commentary - thanks for showing your work - cheers
You are really fun to watch, a very talented teacher and soul
Very cool, I didn’t think you would pull it out at a couple of points but your experience and painting philosophy has enabled you to overcome most all situations... that’s a great place to be so style, individually, truth, etc can come out more and more as dedication and honoring real craftsmanship gleaned from the past masters, sheds that glorious light on the the future path that leads to the ability of a new maestro. Keep slugging and your vids a much appreciated my friend.
Wonderful 🤩
Terrific tutorial. Thank you so much.
You should have more subscribers. Thanks so much. 😇❤️✌️
Hello Yupari, you progress your style very fast and i love your videos. Now you are more relax and comfortable. You are going to be young Sargent. Best wishes.
very nice black and white value painting but color progresses to very dull flesh color. Not really Sargent-like at all. However.....nice attempt but not quite there.
Thanks very much for the great video, it always amazes me how dark the skin tones are , I’m just learning but it seems I always paint too light !
Thank you for continuing posting these every week , they are very informative.
I just want to ask is there anyway to save a painting if you got the initial value off. It seems like the more you fix/add colors to lighten it up, the lower the chroma becomes and the more chalky/muddy it gets while painting alla prima.
you so crazzzy, love your vids
Fantastic portrait painting video. I've learned a lot. Thank you!
I like your portrait tutorials it is very direct and easy to understand and your pallet is what I like the most not to many colors thanks I really enjoy watching your video
Hello, Yupari!
This is very helpfull. Thanks alot. How many years have you been painting?
Congratulations, you are the best artist I have ever looked on the web. Is this technique you're using called "alla prima"?

Who make the cool blue you use in this video?
As a self taught "artist" I struggle a lot with portraits when using paints. I can draw them with pencil but it's like I over complicate things when it comes to painting. Any tips?
thanks
Boa tarde sou Brasileiro. Gosto muito de ver seus vídeos a prendi muito pena que eu nu entenda o que você fala mais só pelo jeito de você pega no pincel eu a prendo.
