My first ever job with Vanessa Mae, the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo. A-list celebs everywhere, this is the life! The Monaco royal family, Lionel Richie, Celine Dion in the front row. The sharp-eyed will notice this is a mime, but the concerts are very much live.

I remember this! This was around the release of the Storm album. I was wondering why Storm was not played instead.

This was in March '97, a few months before Storm was released. We started promoting that album in the autumn. All the artists mimed for the World Music Awards. Unfortunately, a lot of music is mimed for tv. I guess its easier for the tv sound guys if they don't have to mix a live band!

I'm sorry but world music awards are famous for artiste lipsyncin and well I don't know how to quite say this but Vanessa is "playing" playback...it is the exact version of the video! I came from watchin the live versions of this and those were totally different from video.
