Hoki Ward has been a community constable in Maraenui for the last five years and his mission is to stamp out synthetics. It’s a personal mission too. His cousin’s death is believed to be linked to the drug and he has other family members who have been, or still are, addicted. “It’s an epidemic to be honest... It’s destroying this community.”
