really wish they would do something different with the turret movement sounds in this game. Get's kind of annoying. The sound in BF2 worked really well where it was a looping sound effect that got higher in pitch when you moved the turret faster, so it was a smooth sound instead of one sound effect player over and over.
Do you mean the turret stabilizer? That's the sound of an electric motor spinning an metal ring around the turret. The quiet rolling noise comes from the needle bearings.
When the turret is stationary the motor just comes on to spin the stabilizer in intervals to maintain an 'idle' imagine the choppy sound of a cammed V8.
As soon as the turret is under any movement the motor spins up and all you hear is the quiet sound of the bearings.
I guess the sound you meant is representing something different.

All the while you were shooting that T-62 and it continued to run, reminded me so much of Forrest Gump running through the jungle carrying Lt. Dan and getting shot in the butt,, yelling, "Something bite me".

I killed a CR2 with a BMP1 last night, 2 ATGM in the back, they never understood what hitted them so its not "invincible" if you use TTP's.
I hope they will add Bundeswehr in this game,especially the Leopard 2 Mbt and the G36C Rifle

It's funny how when we play we vehicles on Basrah we get atleast 1 suicide runner and 3 bikes with LATS hunting us constantly. Oh and yeah, let's not forget about the spg vehicles.

What are your graphics settings? Just got the game and have similar rig to yours but find the performance poor.
that was an epic tank battle.. this game is getting so much better. .. i heard one of the players mention its hard to tell if they are friendly or enemy unless you zoom all the way in. I have similar issues when i gun.. Do you forsee any fixes for that issue karma?

I had a game in the challenger where we were shot at I think 64 times and we only got hit 34 times and we only got down to 90% and we had lost both our tracks and we couldn’t die until a lat and hat hit us in the ass and killed us.
5 secs into the video and my boy Karma commits a massacre that will show up 10 years later in rediscovered letters back home
Challenger 2 is OP in real life too. Im ex military and ex tank crewman. I used to drive and gun that beast. Definatly the best in the world.... Maybe 2nd only to the German Leopard!!
in the game its not. the abrahms still is far superior overall.

Nemanja Redzic you would be incorrect. The chally has fine armor in the turret cheeks and upper plates (excluding the drivers hatch) and most tanks will not survive a shot to the side or rear. They aren’t designed for that. The challenger 2 has excellent protection against HEAT projectiles due to the TES upgrades giving composite and ERA including bar armor on the rear and back of the turret. The APFSDS is actually decent and can pen most Russian tanks from the turret ring or sides. The UK is in NATO so why would it be fighting against Abrams or Leopards?
Had a challenger stranded twice about 20 or so rocket hits we ran out of ammo before we died

I don't know what the default is, but in the options menu, under controls (?), command, there are a bunch of hot keys for stuff like that.
What happens if you use HESH against armour? Because it really ought to make short work of a T62 or BMP.
L27 CHARM is massive overkill for such old Soviet tech, even though that T62 around the 15 minute mark ate like 4 of them...

Love hearing the British accent giving commands inside the tank. Idk about how annoying the sounds are on headset but I like the tank sounds I imagine it can be immersive in game itself

Challenger 2 is a very good tank, with probably the best armour protection in the world. The 120mm rifled gun is getting a bit long in the tooth, but is highly accurate and with good rounds for use on buildings and softskins, etc.
Chally 2 was one of the best armored mbts back then,but not even close anymore

It can be penned probably from frontal turret from russian 3bm59 svinnets-1 apfsds and its firepower is just bad against modern mbts
@@nemanjaredzic1565 The worst that has ever happened to a Challenger 2 was a partial penetration from below the tank while it was climbing a obstacle that led to a driver losing a foot. Frontal penetration with full ERA armour add ons? I think not. But sure it needs upgrading, especially with active defence against ATGM's and I said the gun is getting long in the tooth. Hardly anyone actually has modern MBT's and even now the Challenger 2 is more than a match for anything up to, and including, the Russian T72.

Chally fought knock outs of polish already downgraded t72m that is called t72m1,iraqi producced.
Anything a bit modern could kill it and only thing it shared with russian version is design,nothing more.
And some of this info i read from one american mbt guy that comfirmed chally needs big upgrades in composite and to get rid of rifled gun.

The Chally 2 has the same weak spots as the Abrams only difference is drivers hatch and lower front plate. 2-3 shots and gg

The challenger 2 is one of the best armoured tanks in the world. Ignoring the lower front plates weakness, its exceptionally tough from the front. You shouldnt worry _too_ much about frontal damage
Tank warfare is much more complicated than that. For example, the Challenger II's sloped turret is made like that because of the way Russia's sabot rounds work. Russian sabot rounds are much more likely to bounce off the Challenger II than the Abrams, however the Abrams armor is so much thicker than the T-90s and Challenger II's so it doesn't matter. The Challenger II and the Abrams are equally as effective against Russian tanks. Now, when you put the two allies against each other (which weren't built to fight each other) the Abrams is the clear victor because it was made to penetrate sloped armor like the T-90s and the Challenger II happens to have sloped armor too.
I was the guy in the BMP first. It was bs, I hit him twice in the side with the atgm and he barely even noticed. Then I was the t62 who flanked around him. my gunner was an idiot and shot so he gave our position away.

Its Op in real life too, theres a story about a challenger in Iraq, it got into an ambush and took 27 rockets from rpg7 it got back back from repairs the same day and got back into the fight.
People ask for longer matches yet i assume they are less or equally to shorter clips.

Is the armour system in Squad pretty arcadey? Like every anti-tank weapon hit removes some of your health and you have like a health bar for a vehicle. For a game like this I would be hoping for a pretty complex system, kind of like Warthunder. I think it could be cool to see a correctly positioned MBT potentially resisting everything fired at it, and then see vehicles cook off from a single penetrating hit if the ammo is hit
This isn’t war thunder where you hit the smallest tank in the word with your entire ammunition supply for it to be all hits

it's not. its armor is very weak. Even a btr can damage it from behind (unlike the t72 and the abrahms). It has a very good muzzle velocity tho. i still think the abrahms is the best tank (by far) in the game. the challenger is between the t72 and the abrahms. trust me i only with play vehicles

Lower hull is pretty weak, other than that the armor is very good and on-par if not slightly better then the Abrams. I think it’s really good on the defensive
i hope it can be oneshotted in the drivers viewport like irl, there is zero armor there

It is known to be one of the best MBTs in the world by people who have no clue about tanks. By people who have a clue about tanks it is considered one of NATOs worst MBTs.

First off, the Greek trial was only attempting to measure the firepower and mobility of the tanks, not the level of protection which is what the Challenger 2 is so well known for. The reason why the Challenger 2 was given a slightly lower score was due to the build up of soot in the barrel. The ammunition that was provided to the Challenger 2 crew was old, out of date ammuntion that was never even issued by the British military for its tanks.
If you want to make the agrument that a smoothbore is preferable to a rifled barrel gun you could probably do that. Though, rifled barrels also have their advantages (better accuracy at extreme ranges, wider variety of round types, better at compensating for inconsistancies in the round). But to say that the Greek trial proves that Challenger 2 is the worst MBT is a delusional statement that only shows your bias.

We all thought that. Until that greek officer spoke out about the data they recieved. In fact the Challenger 2E was much closer to the Leclerc in terms of protection than to the M1A2 Abrams or Leopard 2I. Leopard 2I was the best protected tank in the comparison, followed by M1A2 Abrams. That is in accordance with the swedish trials.

A myth. Neither did the propellant charges exceed their storage life, nor did the L23A1 APFSDS affect accuracy negatively.

Rifled guns are not more accurate. And even if they were, it would only affect HESH. The APFSDS isn't spin stabilised, it's fin stabilised and uses slip rings to cancel out the rotation. Smoothbore guns have a lower internal surface, allowing a higher maxium pressure for autofrettage, resulting in a higher operating pressure. Furthermore the rifling increases friction, decreasing muzzle energy even more. But the lower pressure and friction isn't the only problem with the L30. The two piece ammunition design also severely limits penetrator lenght. On modern NATO standard one piece ammunition the KE penetrator extends well back into the propellant. That isn't possible with the seperated design. The british army wanted to replace the rifled L30 with the L55 smoothbore since 2006. Now they are finally doing it with the CLEP. You should really dig deeper into this than tabloids and wikipedia.

When i was looking the armor lvl of ptotection t72b3 was most overall balanced
While it has inferniot frontal turret armor in game to abrams,it has better protected hull than abrams
So if they fight and t72b3 shoots at abrams hull,than it will wintrade succesfuly

Now t72b3 is i think best overall mbt in the game cause its fast and small profile and have specialised rounds for everything(apfsds,heat,he frag,atgm) while abrams only apfsds and heat)
Biggest advantage abrams in the game has over t72b3 is optic maggnification
@@nemanjaredzic1565 trust me unless ls a long range engament medium to short range the abrahms shreds the t72. Taking into account that both crews are equally skilled. The ring zone of the t72 is weak af so unless you are having a 700m+ engagement the abrahms should come on top. The challenger is a little bit of a hybrid of both. I only play tanks with a premade crew. We 1v2 tanks all day with any of them so I know what I'm talking about
