      It’s so wonderful of him, because this shows that there are many that are giving back, but the spotlight is on those who think the “paper” is everything. And they are the ones praising themselves, or putting another brother or sister down, especially in rap music. Will has grown away from that mindset for many years now. In the world sports they use to talk about the younger sister being so powerful in the camp. Richard is to be crowned for protecting and taking on all burden of hate for his daughters. Venus is one of the greats in women's tennis, but Serena truly is one of the greatest athletes of all time. Usually female tennis players retire at around 30. Venus is magnificent and one of the best tennis players ever; however, American Althea Gibson was the 1st Black person of any nationality to be ranked #1 in tennis in 1957. She won several grand slams from 1956 to 1958 then retired.

      Althea was "considered" number one but that was before the official computer ranking system. The actual first number one African American to be ranked number one by today's standard was Venus.
      Arthur Ashe never got to number one despite playing during the computer ranking system era, nor did Gibson because the computer ranking system was pretty much after her time. Gibson was considered number one in 1957. That system was very flawed and didn't factor in a lot of stuff.

      I am soooo, proud of these two sisters. Why! In the 80s, when I played in the National Junior Tennis League, there were some real good players but because of Funding, it was even harder for us. We played in the armory, Central Park, we played Tournaments throughout the five boroughs. Real fun times. When Serena and Venus came along I was so happy. Because they represented us. They have carried the Torch for American Tennis for the past at least 20 years. With all the adversity, naysayers, the untimely death of their sister, the health issues etc. They still kept it going. That speaks volumes. They play with Tenacity, confidence, also changing the game to more power hitting. Because of Venus, women are making more money after campaigning for it. Need I say anymore. Wish I could meet them just to tell them thanks for what they have done for the sport. Also thank their father for his contribution to the game. Teaching his daughters to be Champions. God bless the Williams family. 💖💖💖💖💖💖

    Hail for both of these Queens. They have served not just an icons but a role model to all who are keeping to continue whatever life brings. Serena and Venus touched so many hearts with all the battles they've been through with their respective careers & personal lives and I'm so grateful to have lived in their era where inspirations and aspirations have been instilled up until to this new generation.
    Their careers could be nearing to the final stretch but what their beautiful souls showed the world, will live forever. Truly an Honor to their Great Father, Richard.

      What I've always admired about Richard is his wisdom off the court to his daughters. He stressed education for other career options after tennis, & most of all money management. I'll never forget Serena was on either VH1/MTV type special yrs ago, in her early 20's, already a multi-millionaire she's with friends shopping, uses her credit card & its declined -- Friends are shocked, she explains I have a monthly budget & now I'm over, so can't get whatever item it was. They went to college while touring for matches & Venus was at or near a 4.0 GPA & Serena was like a 3.2 GPA - again while playing tennis & was running their clothing business. Richard put a lot into them & love in film clip about how dangerous a woman is using her mind. He may not have been formallly educated, may have been emotionally & physically hard on his children, but he appears as 1 of the smartest dads in sports & life lessons. Wisdom beats formal education more often than not. Will's smile doesn't quite reach his eyes these days & wish he & Jada stop explaining their marital good & woes to the public.

      @@zdogg8 naw bro you just can't see the real issues. It's not there edge, it's showing others you can be independent from the establishment and still flourish. It's alot to Ball's story that isn't seen in real time. Pretty much everything the NBA and NCAA is doing in the past couple of years was forced by Ball. But they will never give him his credit. When you say they have a edge your playing into the narrative of that their aggressive black men

    • @zdogg8
      @zdogg8 Před 2 lety

      @@brandonburns5365 Thanks for the response. First off, I don't have a dog in this fight, I'm just making observations. I don't "play into narratives." I see what he is, and I have no problem with it, in fact, I applaud it, to a point, but I can't speak/think for others and how he is perceived.
      On your other point: I'm talking about the idea of movies, his "movie" (rhetorically speaking, but also somewhat actual) is ongoing and more in the open than was Richard's --and that is mostly about technology, social media, LaVar being perhaps more media savvy, as well as LaVar's sheer agressiveness, and he IS agressive, again, nothing, per se, wrong with that. But he talks a lot of shit, and some of it he can back up, but certainly it is meant to be "over the top" (he could beat MJ 'one on one' and other outlandish crappola) and that is what I mean by edge. Some people like bluster, some don't. That's all I'm saying. I'm from LA, I understand his sort of shit talking. (not that you don't).
