I appreciate how respectfully the kelce brothers disagree with butker. I was always a success driven girl growing up. I wanted to be a vet or a pediatrician. I had kids young before I finished college and decided I loved being a mom and that's what I wanted to dedicate my life to. I have finished college but the career will wait. My babies are my focus. How i want it. I tried working and leaving them was torture. So I agreed with Butker that mommy is the greatest role there is. All women may not feel that way. All women may not want kids. That's okay too. I just love that everyone was able to speak respectfully. I appreciated hearing their opinion while they remained respectful in their disagreeance.

We need to treat homemakers as the wonderful way of life & career area that it is. It might not be for everyone just as any career area is not for everyone. Women who choose to be homemakers deserve respect in the same way that women who choose other careers deserve respect.

I felt his speech was clumsy, especially not mentioning that Men are encouraged to put career before family time as well. BTW I am Catholic and raising my son in the church.

Let's remember that there are two types of catholics and Christians. One type is loving to all and inclusive. The other type has hate in their hearts and hide behind their religion. I'm lucky that I only know the loving, inclusive type. You have a choice if you want to surround yourself with good loving incluisve people or people who have hate in their hearts. Just important to know that not all religious people are the same and they certainly do not practice the religion that Butker practices. Always choose love over hate.
People embrace freedom of speech as long it goes along with their narratives and ideologies- which is usually determined by their media of choice. Im glad some people are bringing a balanced view to the harmless speech

This is how we should approach our differences. You can and should love people with different views than your own. There is no one perfect way to love and lead a family. I’m not Catholic and I didn’t attend a Catholic University, so I don’t believe that speech was intended for me.

It depends on what you mean by embrace motherhood. I think the vast majority of women embrace motherhood. It's just not always _their own_ motherhood. Child free women embrace the motherhood of the mothers around them by supporting them and their children, both directly and indirectly. And mothers _need_ child free friends and family who are willing and able to give respite. And even people who don't like kids generally know they don't like kids, and their contribution is keeping their distance 😂

Guess I just don’t understand why he felt the need to even bring it up…had nothing to do with what they were all there for.
Not all women want husbands and families. Nobody is putting women down for wanting to be homemakers. He’s making an issue out of nothing. Women are individuals who are free to pursue the life they want. Not sure why he’s acting like that isn’t the case.
I stayed home the past 20 years to raise my kids, and I took heat and pokes from people because I wasn’t an earner. It is not an easy task raising children and keeping a family together. No one in recent history that I know of has acknowledged this publicly until Mr Butker did so. It sometimes felt like people treated me like a slacker or would disrespect my time. I did my job, my kids are functioning members of society and our family is intact.

Idk what type of people you’ve kept in your circle, but I have not seen that kind of ignorance surrounding my family and I come from a very liberal family. I don’t have any children, so I’m a working woman. That’s how I like it, as I personally do not want kids. These are important choices we need to have as women.
I promise you, Mr. Butker is most certainly not the only person to publicly praise motherhood. My issue with Mr. Butker, is that he decided to impose those views onto a bunch of women who just worked very hard to earn their degrees. Not once did he congratulate them for their hard-earned achievements. You can praise motherhood without telling educated women that their degrees are meaningless. Completely inappropriate.
Nobody is preventing you from being a stay at home mom. There will always be people who disagree with your personal life choices, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have the right to make those choices.
He is not some champion of women. He obviously thinks we should limit ourselves to making babies. We. Have. Choices. We can do both. Just as men can do both.

Ouch! I feel that very young inexperienced women that become wives and mothers having known nothing else, are often lacking in what they bring to the roles and/or are unhappy for missing out. They didn't get to experience any adult life before jumping into a role they just aren't ready for. I learned a lot from my grandmother who had 4 kids when she was widowed, and then became a teacher. She didnt plan to be, but her contributions to our community and to me were incredible because of her career. As a purely SAHM her contributions would have been limited to her immediate household. She was a perfect Proverbs 31 woman. (women don't need paid jobs to contribute to the community of course)

If men could be good fathers, we wouldn’t be having these conversations.
But too many men have failed; and girls watched their moms having to be the mom & the dad. All if the three “men” in my life were absolute failures as fathers; and my father was a genius. My stepdad stole my wealth, and the father of my kids (who begged for kids) didn’t care at all about his kids.

I hope you listened to the whole speech. He started with a narrative of how we as a society are losing certain values in life. He did not tell woman to go be homemakers but that may embrace the idea. As I express this , I too am choosing a view that may not be anyone else’s. Old media trick still in use,yet worse with technology and the people abusing it for there one gains. You still need the whole story.
As a woman, I don't find it offensive at all. As catholics I'm sure they didn't either. I'm not catholic but I am a mom of 5 who exceeded in school and was as success driven as they come. Until I had kids. I couldn't bear to drop my 6 week old baby at a daycare. And I didn't. For 18 yrs I've prioritized my kids over jobs. I wouldn't change it. When they're grown, ill still have time to work. But I can never rewind that clock to get back the time I would have missed with them when they're grown and I regret everything I missed to punch in on a time clock so I could buy Starbucks and LuLu Lemon.

Christian solar contractors in my town use their religion to gain customers, but they are notorious for ripping people off and performing shotty work. Christians vote for Trump who is a liar and a cheat and a fraud. Christians want to tell children in schools what they can and can't read. Christians don't want people telling them what to do when it comes to the virus, but they have no problems telling a women what to do when it comes to their body in the confidence of their physician. I was a single mom and hadcto work,be on food stamps, free school lunch programs because my ex " disappeared into a commune" after serving during Vietnam. I used my parents, relatives, kickstart, daycare and worked my butt off with two jobs. I was a mother first and always. If a family can have either parent be the at home/ children dedicated caregiver that's WONDERFUL! Most families cannot make it on one wage earner. The Kelce's parents both worked and Big Ed usually worked a second job to support the boy's athletics, food, mortgage and necessities.
I had cancer while my daughter was young and I had to be on welfare,food stamps, medicaid and was able to be with her at home for 2 years before I could work again. And that was actually so wonderful for us,even though it was hard times.
We need to support families more to have a home based parent if possible and also support families that need two incomes to provide for our children,who are our greatest hope for a better future & continud family structure.
Work together for families to be together,not attack each other because of different economic levels.
