      I agree. But you can actually HEAR the playing. Very interesting. Changes the "feel" of things...but I always find crowds to be VERY distracting and ambient sound to be to "airy". I guess it depends on what kind of energy you want. Cool experiment. 😉

    Jason was fkn badass in this band. He always gave it 110% and it clearly shows in this live performance. He's so engaged in the song. He's not only killing that bass but the brutal emotion as he sings backup vocals during the chorus and various parts of the song make it that much more enjoyable to watch and hear.

      Gelato556 I agree. Jason's bass sounds phenomenal here! Overall the mix is really, really good! But, I especially love that bass. I have always liked a heavy bass sound. Whether it be Sabbath, Maiden etc. To me the bass is there for a reason. It doesn't have to be just a backing instrument.

      Gabriel Hernandez You are right. That's one thing that has always bothered me about Metallica. They have had some great Bassists. But in their live mix and even some studio, you cant hear the bass at times hardly at all. I guess James is well known for not liking to much of a deep mix. Its a shame because of the talented Bass players they have had. In my opinion, the mix here is the way they should always sound, because the bass sounds phenomenal here. Take care and peace.

      +Chris J The thing is when you have as much bottom end on the guitars as they usually do, they eat up the frequencies where a bass guitar would usually go. So the bass frequencies are coming out of the guitar 4x12 and the bassist winds up just filling a corner of the stage so it will look like a complete band.

    The four Horsemen in their playing prime I can’t believe this is 30 years ago. Once you realize that everything else just is what it is. Nobody has done or ever will do what Metallica has done. There is no concert to this day I would rather be in the crowd at.

    I was at that concert. They had been touring relentlessly for 2 years straight but the energy level was amazing. 2 years before they rocked at the monsters of rock in Basel in 91.
