  • On a overcast Veterans Day, me and my older brother headed down to the city of San Diego to film the San Diego Trolley in action. The lines in the San Diego Trolley system are the Blue, Green, and Orange lines. During the video, scenes from the cab as the Trolley travels down the tracks. A quick shot on board Amtrak 785 and a Metro Purple line departing Wilshire/ Vermont to end the video. As always, sorry for the shakiness. Enjoy.

      +david levine The Green Line was built parallel to the Santa Fe tracks from downtown north as far as Old Town. It splits off to its own trackage. The Orange and Blue Lines were rail lines in part which both have freight "window" at night (San Diego & Arizona Eastern) The Sprinter in northern San Diego County is a former Santa Fe branch from Oceanside to Escondido, with a new deviation to CalState/San Marcos, then returning to the "main line". There is a nightly freight on the line.

    I ride the Los Angeles metro trains and buses. On the San Diego trains I did not see the ability logo on the side of the train. Where do wheelchair passengers boarded the train?

    • @TheHandheldRecorders
      @TheHandheldRecorders  Před 5 lety

      The 1000's and the 2000's series has a lift on the first door. As of today, (2019) those models don't lead anymore as the newer models (3000's and the 4000's series) are much easier for wheelchair loading and unloading. For a wheelchair to board, it's the second door with a wheelchair logo button to activate the ramp.

    How many of those mixed consist trains derailed? The middle car looks so unstable, not to mention shorter with 3 trucks. Love the horns and scenery. Trolley racing automobile traffic FTW!!!

    • @jbc5877
      @jbc5877 Před 5 lety

      Very rarely do any of the SD Trolley consists derail, whether pure or not. Pure meaning all of the same type. All SD Trolley equipment with exception of the PCC cars on the Silver Line have 3 trucks. The middle older cars are Seimens SD100 units. They actually run very nice when they cooperate, pretty much they each have their own personality. But, when I ran the SD100s, I was usually more comfortable and they operate very smooth when you know how they work.
