The History of Economy (GDP) Growth in Asia (1960-2022)

  • The video shows the timelapse of GDP growth rate in Asia from 1960 to 2022. The GDP growth rate compares the year-over-year (or quarterly) change in a country's economic output to measure how fast an economy is growing. Gross domestic product (GDP) is the standard measure of the value added created through the production of goods and services in a country during a certain period. As such, it also measures the income earned from that production, or the total amount spent on final goods and services (less imports). GDP per capita is gross domestic product divided by midyear population. GDP at purchaser's prices is the sum of gross value added by all resident producers in the economy plus any product taxes and minus any subsidies not included in the value of the products. It is calculated without making deductions for depreciation of fabricated assets or for depletion and degradation of natural resources. Data are in constant local currency.

    First of all, I very much hope that China and India can make progress together. I have been paying attention to India's economy ten years ago, but I have not been optimistic about India in the past two years, especially before the 2019 epidemic, India's economic growth rate has been three consecutive years. Lower than China, the domestic epidemic in India is still a big problem, and it will be a big problem for India's economic growth in the next few years

      Yeah also the fiscal deficit widend by 88 percent in this fiscal year combined with record low lending rates will cause sustained high inflation leading to slow growth in middle class consumption causing slow gdp growth rates in the upcoming few years i wish we could reach 10 percent again

India is the fastest growing major economy today and is expected to pass the UK, Germany and Japan to become third by 2030. GDP growth definitely matters if it is sustained over decades. Plus i hope you realize the size of a countries economy is heavily influenced by population size, that's why you won't see Switzerland competing with China, india and the US

      Yep. No way in hell it increased by that great a factor in a single year when the world - and China especially is recovering from covid
      It was funny seeing every nation's number going down simultaneously in 2020
      Also, seems like China has been on a real decline in growth rate. From 15-17% consistently to barely 8% now makes it seem like something's up

    • @epicvideos6227
      @epicvideos6227 Před 2 lety +6

      @@Mrityunjay7 China is the biggest exporter/supplier in the World, so its growth was greatly affected by the World's demand contraction due to COVID.
      However, its GDP is the one which better rebounded compared to pre-Covid rates. A lot of countries are talking about industrial sovereignty since their great dependance to Asian plants (and especially Cinese ones) have been put on light due to the crisis. Meaning they seriously think about relocating massively in occidental areas, but fact is the relocation wave will not be that massive at all because of globalisation's obvious advantages firms don't want to lose(including comparative advantages, fiscal optimization, pollution havens...). The real change will actually be made in the supply chain's stocks logistic, by constituting more stocks to gain some flexibily in case of crisis.
      Chinese strategy on the over hand, is to become less reliant on occidental exports, and to build its own interior markets opportunies by taking advantage of its 1.4 billions inhabitant, and especially farmers in the poorer areas gradually accessing to middle class's standards of living. The global Chinese purchasing power is about to rise to a scary level. Only its demographic crisis could eventually slow down or even stop this phenomenon.

      @@khoowaikeong indeed you're kind of right if we do only focus on that type of goods : demand increased for domestic PCs, microphones and even giant 4K televisions for example. :)
      ( Notice that demand for domestic eletronic products went up, but supply actually went down due to COVID restrictions in China. The rationing was made by higher prices).
      In a more global perspective however, world demand significantly decreased and not only in China, especially due to a slow down in occidental firm's investment, which observed economic contraction for a possibly indefinite period and then decided to reduce their spendings in production capacities in a more than proportionnal way. This economic phenomenon is called INVESTMENT MULTIPLIER if you are interested in checking it, and the multiplier can either be positive or negative. In that case it is negative, and is due to a combination of firm revenues reduction, bad economic anticipations leading to invest less, and finally a decrease in the already existing production factors due to amortizing in that same time. All those events lead to a contraction of production capacities which cannot immediately adapt to the pace when the economy finally rebounds, needing investment spendings back again and then implying a temporary wild boom in prices untill the capacities got ajusted back.

    My eyes were at the map of South Asia, when Every neighbouring countries were having negative GDP growth rates during the 2020 pandemic, Bangladesh was exceptional. Shame on those foreign NGOS and policy research firms who said the number of cases in Bangladesh would exceed 20 million after the second wave of corona pandemic due to over population and population density,We proved that population Isn't a burden rather it's a blessing to economy if you know how to use it in a proper way, Here in Bangladesh, 35k people died of corona virus and number of cases was less than 2 millions, 69% of total population have got second doses of covid vaccine out of which 50% was Pfizer. Thanks to 🇺🇲
    And yes, Fertility rate in 🇧🇩 is now lower that of others in south Asia.
    Well done boys. Good luck to others as well.
