Noise Reduction, DNR, Contour, RF Gain. Use these features to fight noise with the Yaesu FT-710. Audio, NR, Ham radio, amateur radio. Receive, Receiver.
I know this is a year old, however this was a great help (just got this radio about 3 months ago) and I am trying to "dial" everything in. The "parametric" and "p parametric" appears to be one of the hottest topics here on CZcams. Thanks again for making this video, John!! BTW, great name... -73 KQ4KIO
The 10 and 710 are in a different class than previous radios. Use RF gain, contour correctly with slow AGC and there's virtually no background static. Good job on showing how you can change the contour settings. That really matters. Turns it into a preamp without any static increase. Same thing on the 891.
Great informative video. So many hams just don't understand how to use and when to use the RF Gain Control. Even Yaesu has no clue. From the factory, my FT-991A came through with both pre amps on for every band. Yes, even 160 meters where you would never use a pre amp and surely cut back on the RF Gain. DUH ! Thanks for posting, nice job. Barry, KU3X

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. My FT-710 will be here tomorrow. Looking forward to getting it set up properly and on the air.
I use a Contour of -6 at 900 Hz to reduce people's sibilance. Nice feature!

Does the 710 have a 3 band EQ on both TX and RX like the FTDX10
Yes
I don't hear any changes.
