- I am extremely excited to announce I have now got my own limited edition Gunman DeVilbiss GTi Pro lite, the gun itself is just a standard Pro lite but it has the Gunman logo on it. If you've ever just needed that excuse to buy one then this is it. Be quick though, there's only 25.

Gunny just to let you know I purchased a compressor for £283 that runs at 14.5cfm with 150ltr tank, that's about $530 aussie. It will run all aircaps up to hv25 without any problems. The only one it will not run is hv30. But it will manage two panels until the pressure at the gun starts to drop. Hope this helps you or any other fans. Cheers
Damn man, my Peerless (decent Aussie brand) cost me about 1100 aud and it puts out about 12 cfm, that's about as high as they go on 240v 15 amp over here, 14.5 is huge for something not on 3 phase.
@@Neishy4AGTE Dale you need better compressor makers. Mine is 14.5cfm 10bar and runs off a normal 13amp household outlet.

@@nickjoiner450 yeh ok, I dont know how your power works over there but we dont run anything over 15 amp outlet here. Stove tops are hard wired so they wouldnt make anything that runs over 15 amps single phase anyways. Like how do you buy a compressor to run off a "cooker" outlet anyways, wouldnt you have to run a lead from your kitchen to do that? Or do you get the a cooker outlet installed in your shed? Actually come to think of it I have seen 240v 32amp outlets in workshops, but I've never seen a compressor that's made to run off that here, only welders. That is 14.5 FAD and not just the swept volume right? You guys do get stuff cheaper though, too bad posting a compressor isn't an option.
I just had a look at spray guns direct and yeh, the compressors that are rated 13 cfm actually put out 9 cfm FAD so maybe that's where our lines are crossed mate.

The best feeling in the world is the first pass of clear over the finished basecoat.
I've always been told wide open on the tip. Always on the verge of runs or runs. Just needed a truck and did the two and a half turns on the clear. Much better. Thanks again.
Gunman, love the videos. I purchased the Pro Lite on your recommendation. Painted my motorcycle for a first time project and it made me feel like I knew what I was doing. I love it and there is just something cool about sprayguns. Wish I had more time to spray stuff. Lucky for me I have a pro painter who also gives me advice on some techniques and materials. Guys like that are hard to find.

I remember when the push for HVLP guns came around my area. All of the older painters hated the guns and couldn't get them to spray right. We had a spray gun rep come in to demonstrate the guns for the older guys because they refused to paint with the new guns. They were trying to use them at 60 PSI. Even after showing them to lower the pressure and use the 1/2" air hose (for more air delivery) they complained about having to use the bigger hose. Granted going from a 1/4" hose to a 1/2" hose is quite a step up. LOL I personally fell in love with HVLP guns after using it the first time.
My first HVLP gun was the Devilbiss GTI 600 with the #100 air cap. I used it for sealer, base and clear. It sprayed them all well. I would still spray with my Binks #7 conventional gun but only on silvers and pearls.
I don't miss the days of conventional spray guns or lacquer paint. I like to see what I'm spraying these days. The cloud of paint and clear would fog up the spray booth and it would make your hair crunchy. Those days we only had side draft booths and charcoal respirators.

The Gunman I usually go with a rp 1.3 which air cap would you recommend for base coat. Best finish possible don’t mind extra overspray?
Wish I could afford one to get a better gun. Trying to save up for one but bills first then that. One day I'll get one :). And a gunman model! You've been a great inspiration to me and tons of help. Just painted a very hard blended quarter panel. Was a gradient paintjob with 2 different Pearl's. Had to have my body guy give me a hand as he said that is a job most would turn down. Thanks gunny for all the help and teaching. I will get one of these hopefully in the next year or so.

Just ordered mine Gunny! Been looking to get a Tekna Pro Lite in the next few months, so I am proud to get one of these! I am in the US, so let's see how long it takes to get here. I went with the HV25 1.2/1.3 as I need basecoat water and clear all in one. I hope this does the trick. Congrats on getting this baby!

I just received my new GTI Pro Lite always wanted the gold finish. I'v just started painting what I learned so far is all caps & tips depend on the person spraying. Can not say one cap or one tip is better than the other cause some spray faster than others. The other reason is what type of finish the person is looking for. The person spraying will have to know what speed they spray at & what type of finish there looking for than choose the cap & tip for that job
Hey Mate HVLP means high Volume of air comes in and low Pressure comes out.... 2bar in and always 0.7 bar out!

Wow, I honestly started spraying because of you bro, I've sprayed a few of my own cars, a few of my families cars with my PRO-lite and eveyone hits me up that they want their car painted, but I dont paint, I just did it for fun, this gun paints like a pro, I've even had friends take their cars to the body shop and I do a wayyy better job just with the GTi and I just use U-POL clear.
Any apprentice learning from you would be well setup for a great career. Well done mate.

Hi Gunny! Obviously, you have heared some problems about the baffle behind the air cap.? In my gun, there is not this white cardboard baffle at all. In my Pro lite is just one plastic part behind air cap.. Do you have had any baffle issues with your Pro lites with baffles..?

wait wait wait wait wait...... ok, hold up.... ive been watching your videos now for 3+ years, Gunman, and now you decide to say that the TE10 cap lays gloss flatter than the T110?? But a few videos back (maybe like 24 :-P) you said the best cap for flat finishes was the T110 which prompted me to order one from the UK for like $100+. Ive always had the TE10. So which is it? The TE10 or the T110?
I live in Houston, TX, weather is pretty hot and can get humid from time to time.

CARLOS CLASSIC it’s not, they are two different caps, hence the TE10 and T110 part numbers......

So I found recently that they are so close it's not funny. I haven't had a TE10 cap itself for a few years but when I had the opportunity to get any cap I wanted I thought I'd get the TE10 so I can do some more trials and see what I think of it. T110 is probably going to lay it a little flatter but only slightly. They are quite similar but I find I preferred the slightly larger fan of the TE10 when did some trials recently, speed is a factor for me, if it isn't important to you then the T110 1.2 is probably the way to go for flat finishes. Sorry if it seems like I have contracted myself and hope it makes sense.

Do you think the FLG5 with 1.4 fluid tip does throw more material on to the surface than a Pro Lite with a 1.3 tip?
Or is the amount of material used with both guns quite the same?
You'd expect that a FLG5 is harder to use for an apprentice than a 1.3 Pro Lite because of the different size fluid tips, but I think the FLG5 is one of the most easiest guns to start spray-painting with...
Do you think it's because a difference in design or something?

Gunman how much air need this gun ? Hp , Gallons, cfm ? Probably not for one car completely, only for parts ! I like your sense of human men, and your art !
Nice gun and color. A brand of clear I use in the States (SPI) requires a 1.4 tip for their clears. They are polyurethanes, not regular urethane and great products but haven't tried shooting their clears with the 1.3 on my Tekna Prolite.

I put a T110 1.4 and needle on a PRI Pro Lite and it sprays the same.
