Interesting video, seen wings like this a few times. I probably would have used a dual knockout box myself if I was doing that job. Fused spur for the heater, double socket outlet as a bonus! Cut the cable between the two. Would have saved the cable pulling
I wish I’d had someone like you guiding me on my first time. James is a lucky boy!
James is a lucky boy - Chris didn't have to use the lube so I'm sure James thanks him for it...
Nice build, great vid !
Geez you gotta get some racking in that van, looks like a teenagers bedroom
gonna be a crusty sock and a copy of Razzle somewhere in there....
Sat here at night watching this and it’s dawned on me that I’m just watching lads do the same sort of work I’ll be doing in a few hours 😂 brilliant but it is interesting and entertaining 👍
That new socket needed the top surface of the block scraped away with a scutching hammer, as the knock box was proud of the plasterboard. No need for decorators mate or caulking 😀
Nice job getting the cable pulled in, when you first started and James was pulling I had visions of the chandelier scene from only fools and horses with one of the other cables being dragged out.
Hope you removed the new back box and went a bit deeper for a flush finish rather than fill the gap which will look naff.
CJR this is the best channel keep up with the content I love your humour, I love your proper work & not some stupid rushed work, it’s proper work, keep it up 👍
Radials would blow a Builder's mind completely!
i sure have missed your uploads...great vid mate !
Nice work boys ,horrible working a an attic ,you are doing a good job well done 😀😀😀👍👍👍
We in the Netherlands put conduit in the walls and ceilings. Makes this so much easier.
And more expensive!
@@jonathaneastwood2927 that’s true but if you ever have to change wires for any reason. You just open the switch or outlet and pull new. And no need to reopen the wall or ceiling. Far less impact.
I think if you had enough slack to cut the cable ,there was no point in replacing it,or is it just me
Love the fact that you have (at the tine of writing) 212k subcribers, 2k more than Artisan with all the money they must pump into videos whereas you're still doing the same type of video you was doing years ago
Goodness - in the old days, we would just have clipped that Flex to the top of the skirting board.
Powered by Milwauke and lubed with KY.
Carry on sparks 😂
A team 👌
Top of the tree Chris & James entertaining straight forward channel although James did look slightly nervous when you mentioned lube 😂.
Margarine or butter?
@@myglaren 😂🤣
Ha Ha, I spent 15 min watching two blokes pull a cable thru a wall, great. You can get more than 4 cables into the back of a socket, I am sure you can, no need to bend the wire back on itself, its one of those ring lolipop radial star configs......... 🙂 Nice job on the CU.
0.27 r1&r2 on the shower circuit is really high! It looks like a 10mm. That cable must be 40-50 metres long🤔
Chirs you look more like Gordon Ramsay every day😂
Your body guys but definitely need some dust masks for 27:10 hate those fibreglass fibers, slight extra sundries cost but worth it, nice video
I agree with you James is 21 he’s old enough to get a mask out the van.
James looks the part....phone in one hand , other hand in pocket....noicey...
If he were given opportunity to actually do something other than fetch tools and be bossed around I’m sure he’d show more interest!
You were lucky the cable was in capping . Lots of cowboys don’t use capping or tube
Capping does make it easier I must admit when adding additional points. Needed behind dot and dab ? Not really but great to find on the day.
Isn’t it if you have the live and neutral in separate holes that’s how you have Eddie nothing to do with earth?
Yet another masterclass in how to fix somebody else's c*ck ups! Great video as always mate.
I can only find either new build work or house maintencance work as an electrician (while maintenance is only limited to socket/switch/light/extractor fans replacement). can any one guide me how to find work with electrician /company like Chrs is doing. I am fully qualified electrician based in Romford town of greater London area.
All those double entrederes 🤣
That skirting board below the 4 in/out is going to give me nightmares
Internal joint was crap.
Good builders aren’t easy to find anymore
@@Tokaisho1yeah true but youtube these days if it was a diy job would have got them close with a 45degree angle and a coping saw. I think most people assume a corner joint is just two 45 degree angles put together in the corner
surely a powder lubricant like teflon is better?
Thank you for not adding music.
"You've got better odds of it going in, with a bit of lube."
Ooh Matron. 😁
4 cables in a socket! That’s nothing. I had 8 elephants in my mini last week…..
I was called out to a problem and found a new extension had been wired out. Customer had plugged in a 3kw fan heater. Within minutes smoke appeared from the socket. I discovered brand new installation by the builders of the extension used , wait for it. Twin bell wire for the 13a sockets. Was connected to the lighting circuit. No earth nothing. Worst I have ever seen. I disconnected immediately and advised them to contact the builder.
An old Wylex wooden backed
lube always work never dry
That Red and black cable is obsolete now and has been for a good number of years.
Good job boys........but we are missing face mask and gloves.
Overkill !!
I'm an electrician in Brazil I want to work there help me
I see Adam, Nick Bundy’s apprentice has just passed his AM2, when is James going to come out of his time?
I think James has another year
I thought current UK regs say that the consumer unit must be 140cm from floor level?
Part m if new install yes this is not a new install bud.
Thats why pipes should be standard
whats this a milwalkie commercial
Ive got a dirty mind. Told one of my friends listen to comments two of our friends were having. Imagine they're talkin about sex instead of animation and engineering. So imagine a woman is telling a guy what to do from 10:46 to about 13:00.
Being serious now: thanks for the video about wiring. Did learn some information on electrical wiring in a home.
Why is earth sleeving so important. Surely if the live comes loose it has more chance of touching the earth wire without sleeve and therefore tripping the board making the situation safe?
Prevents the CPC coming into contact with terminals on the back of the accessory.
Spaghetti junction
you're going to have to ammend your voice over to coving & not arcitrave. Great vid as usual
That is nothing, how about sockets with NO earth and 20am rcd fuse for the hole house, that was a nightmare to fix
Your proper saucy like some curry
The only way I'd EVER allow the Builder to do the Wiring is if the one doing the work is a Licensed Electrician...
That by the way, is the only way the Builder COULD do the work without getting absolutely NUKED by the City Code Enforcement Officer here in Ontario Canada...
😄😁😆😅😂🤣
8:34 What's the matter? I can answer that question...
Like most young men, James's Mind is in or very near the Gutter and your Lube comment has induced some amusingly naughty thoughts in his brain...
😄😁😆😅😂🤣
Quero trabalha aí me ajuda
Coving not architrave 😊
Smug not helpful 😊
What was wrong with the rcd there
No need for it if you have RCBOs
well hes using rcbos for every circuit so it wouldnt make sense to have a main rcd aswell
@@Lennyhunt117 but what something happens in the rcbo
@@henrikostrov482 replace the rcbo lol
If there's a fault on one circuit, the whole installation will trip. Dodgy washing machine = no lights. Now, lights stay on with an appliance fault on a socket circuit. Safer.
He means to say dob't get the cheapest builders and try to negotiate an even lower price...
If you're trying to put it in dry you're not doing it right.
Why do you keep chucking your products around your installing?
Really. You must know all builders. I am a builder I did 2 years college, Done the Part P. Your heading should be 'Don't let untrained or non compedant people wire your property'. Not slag all builders off .
If your one of the good ones then you have nothing to worry about.
sorry but I have a dirty mind watching this
