      I don’t think you can go wrong with Apple. Safe and sound for many years. Obviously that doesn’t guarantee the future, but I’d be pretty confident

    Thanks for the clarity. After the split stock, does it mean that the dividend yield and dividend per share will remain the same?

    • @dansplained42
      @dansplained42  Před 4 lety

      Hi Keon, yes it will stay the same proportionately. Ie people won’t start earning more dividends, it will remain the same as it has been and will be displayed as adjusted for the split 👌🏼

    Apple is a good buy now i think. I read up in 2014 when they annouced the stock split it was 525. Just before the stock split it was 625

    Really great consistent stock for long term! It's a great opportunity for people to get into the stock if they couldn't necessarily afford before the split. But yes I agree it makes no difference really

    Buy the 5G Super Cycle. $500 in 6 months, $125 after split in January 21.

    Do you think it would be smart to buy it at $425 right now? Im thinking it would go up after the split considering the price it would be at. What do you think?

    • @dansplained42
      @dansplained42  Před 4 lety +1

      It’s hard to say one way will be right. But I think they are still an good buy. They’re just such a strong company and I love the look of them long term. I’m a long term investor so I would only invest in a company I’d be happy to hold for a very long time. If you’re the same, then I think they’re a good long term buy. I’m not a financial advisor though, so please don’t take my word as gospel

      Verrrry hard to say. I couldn’t pretend to guess. 400-500 wouldn’t surprise me. I would say more likely closer to to 450

    • @dansplained42
      @dansplained42  Před 4 lety +1

      I don’t know why they’d merge into Apple, but they want to be “the apple of the automotive world”. A very big call

  • @fernandotomaz2554

    Apple is paying 3.33$ dividend per share at 0.74% div, are they gonna keep 3.33$ per share and raise 4 times the % ? thats a very interesting buy for a div portfolio.

    • @dansplained42
      @dansplained42  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey Fernando. No, they will make it proportionately equal to what it is now. In every way the fundamentals stay the same. What changes is the look. So if you look through their charts and dividend history you’ll notice that you can’t see the changes made in the past. It is displayed as adjusted for the splits. But it’s a clever thought 👌🏼

      @dansplained42  Před 4 lety

      Correct. That’s why I speak about buying for the right reasons - because it can be confusing and we don’t want to buy expecting one thing and getting another. Treat apple stock as per usual

    No wonder they are as of yesterday the nr.1 publicly traded company on the planet by market cap at almost $1.9T.
    Very curious if they didn't do any splits since the beginning that means they would have had, what, let's say $4-5000 a share by now 😁

    • @dansplained42
      @dansplained42  Před 4 lety +1

      Yeah, pretty crazy stuff and yet I totally get why they’ve done so well. You’re right, the stock price could have gotten out of control. The downside of that is you get a situation like amazon where it becomes out of reach for many investors unless they buy fractional shares, which isn’t as readily available

    • @Glob3Tech
      @Glob3Tech Před 4 lety +1

      @@dansplained42 Exactly. It's a very smart move since it will apear cheaper to most people to afford which on paper it is but they make even more money. Since they did it so many time - so rinse and repeat. Yes my thoughts exactly with Amazon. It's like shall we watch a 10 hour movie? No, but we will binge watch a 10 episode tv series in one go 😁

      @Glob3Tech Před 4 lety +1

      @@dansplained42 I did the math Dan and even if I am half right, it's just scary!
      So if had Apple never split, it
      would be worth $23,800 per share today.
      2:1 - 16th June 1987
      2:1 - 21st June 2000
      2:1 - 28th Feb 2005
      7:1 - 9th June 2014
      Total 56:1 split × $425 as of last Friday = $23.800

    • @dansplained42
      @dansplained42  Před 4 lety +1

      Wooow, that’s frightening isn’t it. Although, I’m not sure it would have worked out as cleanly as that because the idea is that splitting allows more people to buy. Those people wouldn’t have been buying at the elevated prices. But nonetheless, very cool and a crazy number!
