Missed the best part of the Stock price is to high tweet. He posted that tweet on May 1st (5/1) at 8:11 AM. Tesla announced the 5:1 stock split on August 11th (8/11) to lower the stock price. He basically told everyone what and when but in such a cryptic way no one got his joke.

He is splitting the stock because he said he would. He tweeted that the stock price is too high at 8:11am PST on 5/1. So the announcement of the split happened on 8/11 for 5:1. He is truly the GOAT
He also split earlier than he first told us, which was an interesting move and part of what should have raised our eyebrows

Such a hard one to answer because they’ve gone up in price so much. I’d say buy if it suits your portfolio at any time. Fundamentally it makes no difference to their company, so invest if you want them in your portfolio

I think it’s a really clever idea and perfect for the times we are living in. But I haven’t researched the company or done a deep dive, so I wouldn’t want to give you an un-researched, detailed opinion. It might be one for me to look into though
I now after the stock has split today, only have 45 shares, so I'm not even close to buying a Tesla for myself and I have like 70% invested in Tesla.
The problem is that Tesla is so expensive in Sweden where I live.
A Tesla model 3 starts at $37 990 in the US, but in Sweden the same car cost in US dollars - $64 954 - How much less sales would Tesla have in the US if the price was as in Sweden? I mean if the price would be the same in Sweden as in the US, I would already own a model 3. It's so cheap in the US so it's not even worth thinking about any ICE car.

Exactly right, it is expensive, no doubt, but it's what lies ahead that matters. If you think about it, expensive compared to what? Also once it splits, it won't be expensive, that's the idea

@@joshuatirado99 I think Tesla could easily split again a few years down the line. I mean if you look at Apple, they've done a few splits over the last 30-40 years, so I think it's definitely a possibility with Tesla

I love the energy and presentation. FSD though is bigger than batteries. However, batteries must come first bcz FSD requires many miles which requires many cars which requires a huge battery supply. And FSD requires long lived batteries. So i see Battery Day as the stepping stone to the real big Kahuna, FSD. Getting to sub-$100 per kwh at the cell level will be bonkers. 250+ kw charging from empty to 90% is also a big must/Musk. I expect FSD to get priced in over the next 12 months because the last piece if the puzzle is now coming alive. That wil be the next big leap up that will carry the stock for the next decade (even while energy is getting added). This year is a taste of the growth to come.
The way I see it the stock split will bring the price down to 400 and the same people who piled into Hertz after it announced bankruptcy, will pile into Tesla pushing the price back above 1000

It’s so hard to say, but some bulls predict $7000. In nowhere near qualified to be able to predict that many factors that far into the future. What I will say is that I hope they’re right

Where is your math. Any math at all to show what you believe is a legitimate stock price? Here's my math:
Tesla sold 191,627 cars in 2018, 192,250 cars in 2019. Now, they aren't on track to sell many more cars this year than that, but let's just assume a massive pie in the sky number. Let's say Tesla sells double this year, or 384,500 cars in 2020. Now let's assume their sales double every single year for 5 years in a row. Yes, that is massively overestimating the capabilities of any company ever in existence at that level, but let's just say it's true.
At their current profit margin, which is completely inline with every single other car company, that means they'll make about $31 billion in profits over the next 5 years. Keep in mind, they only made $36 million last year, so this is still massive pie in the sky numbers, but let's just assume they outsell any company ever. We'll take that $31 billion as going to happen. There are 1 billion shares of Tesla outstanding. That means if they grow at the highest pie in the sky predictions possible, they will be worth $31 a share IN 5 YEARS FROM NOW. Which means if you want a return on your investment, you'll be wanting to buy it at half that amount today.
That's some actual math. Where is yours?
What about countries outside of the US? The 192 250 you have above is for the US only.

2019 sales - 367,849 (50% increase on 2018)
2020 sales during a worldwide pandemic - Q1 88,400. Q2 90,650 (so far 13.7% ahead of last year first half - again... during a pandemic)

There's a hidden message in the Tesla famous shorts picture. The price on the shorts are $69.420. Maybe the 5 to 1 split will start at 420 price per share

Very exciting video but are you sure the assumption the million mile battery happens in the future isnt already priced into current share price?
It’s hard to say because I think a lot of it will depend on what is spoken about. They may have more information that elevates their value further. But it could be priced in. What I don’t believe is priced in is the gravity of the lowered costs and the upcoming affordability of their vehicles over the new few years. People won’t understand the gravity of that until we start seeing their vehicles at low, affordable prices. Good question though Walnut and as always, it is very hard to say ‘absolutely’

“Roadrunner” running down the highway? Could it be a major increase in battery energy density? They could use a smaller, lighter, cheaper battery pack with the current range and lower the price point.
i predict the Maxwell battery tech. a full set (current quantity) will increase cars beyond 600 miles. but i suspect they'll reduce the quantity down so that the average is 400. the smaller quantity will reduce the weight and tear on the tires.
Interesting thoughts. Will be interesting to see which way they go

Here I was referring to the news in the last few days that China might be kicked out of using the US dollar, and will probably close its economy from the western world...That is the big factor I wasn't so sure about, and its potential consequences on Tesla as a company. Tesla is by far my biggets investment so im not just a hater, but... you cant say tesla is undervalued because of stuff like this. I heard nothing new and feel like everyone knows this so it might as well be priced in. How can you call something undervalued when you never talk about the valuation?
It’s a fair question, but I don’t feel as if some of those factors are priced in. I don’t think people understand the gravity of some of these transitions and when they see it play out, that’s when we’ll start to see the real boosts. And don’t forget, you may have great knowledge on Tesla and be following closely, but not everyone else is. This video is for people who may not have known these things or may not have pieced them all together

Um, yeah that is often true, but not everyone is capable of assessing information, digesting it and making decisions on a higher level. These matters aren’t always simple, they’re often complex, so I feel as if, it’s less about laziness and more about a being able to put all of the pieces of the puzzles together. @@dansplained42 It's never a good idea to go 100% on one stock no matter how good a company is. I am diversifying and only doing 15% portfolio diversification in TSLA. Thinking about going 25 - 30% due to their future growth and what they have achieved now. I am talking long term. 20 - 30 years from now.
