Human ingenuity knows no bounds
There have been times I forgot to charge my Onewheel and had to carry it back home. I bought some thin survival rope, hopefully this leash techniques
Carried my board about 2km today over my shoulder while going in and out of metro stations. Gonna do this next time instead.
throughout the whole video, i was anxiously waiting for the part where you'd tied to rope just right to activate the foot sensors. i was a bit embarrassed lol when i realized it's meant to be OFF when you do it.
haha thanks for the great video.
I do actually have a version that has a leash on both the front and rear pads. It offers better control but takes longer to setup...and yes, only use it when it’s OFF ;)
Great idea! Can I highlight this in one of my videos?
ABSOLUTELY! I’m all about growing the sport/community and always willing to contribute whenever possible.
With so many new regulations coming down and the Onewheel getting wrapped up with the escooters, I think we will be running into more resistance moving forward so something like this can make it easy to maneuver the Onewheel around crowds and private property.
I walk through casinos and long convention halls in Las Vegas where riding is prohibited and that’s how I came up with this super simple yet effective solution.
Once people try it and see how easy it is, I think they’ll be more likely to commute with their boards and not be afraid to venture into different places.
I’ve gotten great feedback in only the few days that I released the video.
I’m honored that you like it and want to share the info. Thanks again!
Genius. Now I want my One Wheel. This was the only thing I was concerned about. Running out of battery and having to carry it. Thank you 👍🏻
Range anxiety and “hey, you have to carry that!” are literally my two worst fears haha. This solves both :)
Thank you so much for video whit vlad!) yoi are amazing bartender!
Dmitry Vorobev thanks! Hopefully we make some more soon 🤙
very nice, thank you so much for sharing!
You’re very welcome; happy to help 😊
Thanks for watching
Taught my dog how to "heel" on walks so I'd call it the "oneheel"
Haha I like it!
Clever
This is dope how does it work on inclines like hills
great idea! What's up Jon!
Fun fact:
John and I shot this video after having only met an hour ago
Oh and thank you! 🙏😊
I tried this and found that my one wheel kept tiping over when turning sharply. I changed the design a little so there were tight lines to both sides, kind of like a two handled kite, and now I can keep my one wheel from tipping over by pulling on the appropriate side when turning.
Nice adjustment! I have another version that also runs the leash to the front pad as well. It makes it very easy to navigate but takes longer to setup. Glad you like the idea and modified it as well
Please consider posting details on your way found better.
🤞
Can you make a video for a leash on the Pint?
It would be the same except you need to make the initial loop tighter so it grabs the rear pad better
Does this passively charge through regenerative breaking?
It unfortunately is hard to push/pull the wheel when it’s ON, and balance it at the same time. I tried and wasn’t successful lol.
I have seen instances where one rider tows another rider with a dead Onewheel (which you can use the strap for) and that was a better technique for regeneration.
