    GREAT vid man, also that in-game tier board looked sweeeeeeet, and we finally got a death montage at the end of a video, after me asking for only 1 year, huzzah! 🤣
    Solid rankings across the board (heh) agree with the lot of it, and very well condensed and summarised considering the way many of us have been waxing lyrical about the new weapons and their subtleties and niches at considerable length. Now I'm extra hyped for the next video!

    i adore the krom and the slayer, ill give my thoughts on them, after briefly cross referencing what i think with the rest of waffles' thoughts
    waffles might as well be me in another life, because i agree with everything he says. he is objective and to the point, thundering weapons are objectively the best and they will be for the majority of players, especially if you struggle to handle mobs of.. mobs. for the more experienced players, its pretty easy to get an objective idea of what stone will work best on which weapon, fast hitting? thundering. aiming to push enemies back? primal. whatever the fuck the spear is supposed to do? thundering
    talking on the spear specifically since i loved them early game, youd have to change how you play to accommodate a spear, and given how expensive theyre becoming, theyre not the smartest investment. if primal had a 100% chance of rooting your enemies in place it would be THE pick, especially for players who want to use swords like krom and slayer but are less skilled, throwing your spear sets you up for a middle mouse hit which will do huge damage, especially on enemies like a seeker soldier where its weak spot is its backside
    thundering will however be your best bet since it chains lightning, or has a chance to at least. this could quite literally turn the tides of a fight, throwing this into a mob, getting that chain lightning hit. if you plan on using a spear proactively, thundering is your best bet, and depending on what you want from your spear, what your main weapons are etc, it will very likely be your best bet regardless
    touching briefly on the maces, he is again, correct, but if you main a mace do not take any of these weapons, stick with the frostner. a reoccuring theme with most of these weapons is that there will still be better primary options, the best mace, the klossen is more of a weapon youd switch to just to get enemies off of you than it is a damage dealer
    now, the slayer.
    Ive seen so many people who want to be the big sword player, but so very few have the patience for it. if that sounds like you, slayer the bleeding is your best friend, you players who are not the best combat wise so will consistently run a criminal amount of health. the slayer already does a great deal of damage, but with the bleeding variant, your impatience becomes a virtue and your damage output will rise noticably
    for players who are a little smarter but still unfamiliar with the greatswords, slayer the thundering will be your best friend, that chain lightning can truly rock any mob of enemies
    i use the base variant a lot of the time because i really like how it looks. dont be like me. be smart. pick the thundering or bleeding variant based on which of these two people sound like you
    dont use the primal, its bad here
    to make the slayer part brief
    for inexperienced greatsword players who really want to make it work but die frequently, use the brutal slayer 7 times out of 10, the only time id recommend you use the scourging slayer is if you are willing to move to at least 2 stamina foods and maybe carry stamina potions this allows you to stay in the fight a lot longer, making the scourging slayer a smarter investment
    for people who use 2-3 stamina foods, the scourging slayer will be for you and im sure i dont need to explain why. the scourging slayer eliminates difficulties youd have with krom when faced with a mob of enemies.
    do not, ever, make the primal slayer unless youre good with greatswords and simply like the way it looks
    to give a brief guide on these swords, ideally you are a player who almost never gets hit. i run the full fenris set, the ashen cape, 3 stamina foods and i carry stamina potions, this is what peak slayer performance looks like, heavy on the fenris set btw, thats how i made it work for me in the mistlands, especially with seeker soldiers, parrying them and getting to their backside was a pain until i started using the full fenris set again, if you havent tried it out, i emplore you to do so

    From what I've seen in general, players are a bit underwhelmed by the blood weapons (and I agree). One good idea I've seen is that Iron Gate could add life-steal to blood weapons, so that you regain health faster as you're losing it, making it easier to hover at low hp without always being one hit away from death.

    if you download the DPS mod and check the DPS on all of these weapons, the thundering berserker axes are So far ahead of any other weapon in the game its not even a competition. They have about 350 DPS. For example Dyrnwyn only has about 230~ and all the other thundering weapons dont even break 300 dps

    Especially the lighting spear as it will insta stun any asksvin it hits if thrown and from there you can kill it for free, only enemy it struggles against is the charred warrior.

    I keep trying to use the berserker axes like they were knives and they are very much disappointing in that regard. The alt attack only gets about a 7 from me compared to the run/jump(or float)/alt attack of the knives (skoll/hati and several VA knives), which goes to 11. One on one or if one can tank hits they are awesome but even drawing back one biome, the animation delay makes them absolutely horrible in a two+ up worthy foe fight (such as against a one and two star seeker). With a shield or knives one can block/parry/dodge roll precisely and maybe I should not be trying to compare them to knives but I have so much experience with them and they are the only other double equipped weapons, it is very difficult not to try to use them in the same way.

  • @mannemannen7211
    @mannemannen7211 Před 17 dny

    I find tthe berserkir to be a bit of a glasscanon compared to not having a shield, however if u play hardcore u can hardly block anything so id say the difficulty comes to play into all this. the mistwalker is still the most viable option due to its chill effect since it slows enemies down and hits multiple oponents, meaning its better then ashlands weapons.

  • @fairnooks7047
    @fairnooks7047 Před 19 dny +1

    I'd give every mace one tier less, it wouldn't be so bad if they kept the knockback static but it has been ridiculously increased for no reason at all, these are tougher mobs, they should not be getting knocked back even further than a metal upgrade warrants; I did notice that you qualified it's use to best in VH difficulty.
    Other than that...I guess! Pretty much only one style of melee fighting was on display, which will jostle things a little but based on weapon "output," OK.
    A special mention has to go to the Dundr when you get to it; that is a hybrid melee weapon! It blasts everything into submission, except maybe Valkyries, haven't tried it on them but pretty sure they are out of range most of the time for it to be effective. I do not invite 6 or 8 of them to gang up on me either; it is a weapon for an artist of movement, not blunt force trauma. I'm only running like 85 armor after all. Got my bubble? Umm, yeah, when I remember or have time to use it. Of course there is always some drawback to any weapon and personal armor and health/stamina is it.

  • @MultiNerevar
    @MultiNerevar Před 3 dny

    a decent list for the start. but there is some missinformation in the video:
    first off :
    there is not ALOT of enemies WEAK to lighting in the ashlands. there is precisely ONE thats weak to lighting : the morgen. and the morgen also just happens to be the ONLY enemy in the entire game with a natural weakness to lighting.
    so correct would be this statement : NOTHING. and i really mean NOTHING resists lighting dmg. in the entire game enemy wise.
    also lighting dmg has a unique property compared to all other elemental dmg types : it counts as PHYS dmg for the STAGGER value. no other element does that. and besides frost its also the only dmg of elemental that is applied INSTANTLY.
    due to this the lighting sword actually does 145 dmg in terms of effect and stagger value. except BETTER since nothing resists lighting unlike slash which some enemies do resist.
    meanwhile fire and poisen are dots only. fire dots stack. poisen ones do not. they are however effected by resistences of enemies.
    every single undead enemy is IMMUNE to poisen dmg. it resists it completly. due to this the nature weapons only real benefit is thier rootstun.
    funny little side fact : the staff of the wild applys the same root. FOR FREE. so if play hybrid build and need a root use the staff then go melee with lighting weapons.
    regarding badwyrm. yes thats its actual name imo. this weapon SUCKS. in every possible way. its not B tier at all. its actually D tier or even lower. its dmg is WORSE than the level 3 basic nidhogg which is already bad by itself. viewing this any other way is MATH DENIAL.
    first off. a (current) max level dynwyrn does 151 slash dmg. a lighting nidhogg does 141 slash and 10 lighting at current max. this means thier base dmg per hit IS THE SAME. as stated before lighting is direct instant dmg with a full stagger value. so the 10 fire is the only actual advantage.
    this advantage tough is ZERO in ashlands. flat out. as this is the next wrong information in this video : EVERYTHING IN ASHLANDS. EVERY SINGLE ENEMY RESISTS FIRE DMG. NO EXCEPTIONS. so saying "fire dmg actually works in ashlands" is VERY VERY terrible missinformation. every enemy resists fire by atleast 50%. the charred are even worse : they are VERY RESISTENT to fire dmg. means 75% reduction.
    fire is dot dmg applied over the course of 5 seconds. this means the dmg value you see on badwyrm for example is not 10. its 2 per tick. totalling 10 after 5 seconds. now couple this with enemy resistences and you end up with ONE DMG per second more over the lighting sword vs everything. even less on the charred. and this comparison ignores the CHAIN LIGHTING OF THE NIDHOGG ENTIRELY. 1 single chain lighting proc and the nidhogg jumps LIGHTYEARS ahead of badwyrm.
    do not use badwyrm. just. dont. its the same as when you see people useing yagluth power : you are dealing with an absolutly clueless player that has no idea how game mechanics work in this game. neither should ever be used if you care about actually beeing EFFECTIVE.
    badwyrm will also NOT be of use in deep north. its an optional task to aquire it and it wont be needed to access deep north either. the devs simply added it due to people begging them to not red rid of it since it has existed in the gamefiles for such a long time but was never legitly obtainable till now. its a leftover from the early days of the games development.
    i ran a test : even if an enemy is VERY WEAK to fire dmg (doesnt even exist in the vanilla game enemy wise yet) badwyrm is STILL outperformed by the lighting sword by a long shot over the course of just 10 seconds of hitting a target dummy. it was always worse dps. so even if deep north enemies where stupid weak to fire dmg this thing would still suck.
    its not A tier. its not even B tier. its straight up D tier at best. C if you wanna ignore the ashlands enemies resistences. please dont tell anyone ever to use this thing. especially not in ashlands. unless you wanna troll them....
    the blood gem is bad. flat out. in every case. the brutal slayer being S tier is just wrong. 200 hp missing? in what real gameplay situation would that not end up with your DEATH shortly afterwards? thats purely an on paper number. it never occurs in any controllable way in normal play. thus its fully irrelevant.
    also you see these archers and twitchers and voltures you killed with it?`they have 200-220 hp. this means the extra dmg from the bloodgem is ALWAYS useless vs them. they die in 1 hit REGARDLESS of it. so its a pure downside vs them. they get oneshot by the 1hand swords 2nd dary attack already. so youre giveing up speed and use more stamina for no gain as the higher dmg per hit goes to waste.
    overall the slayer is flat out worse than the axes or the 1hand sword in every way currently. worse dps. worse stamina use. slower attacks. this is not an S tier weapon by a long shot. especially in the bleeding variant. B tier as bleeding. at best.
    the rest of the weapons is spot on. no idea why you even listed the non gemmed ones tough as nobody should ever upgrade these. until you can gem them the mistwalker outperforms them in ashlands.
    ranged tier list isnt needed. lighting bow with frost arrows so so far ahead of crossbow its not even worth compareing these. bow was already better before but with chain lighting chance depending on speed and frost arrow on top vs ashlands enemies this gap just got even wider. not useing bow in ashlands over crossbow means youre beeing flat out ineffective compared.
    as for magic thats another no brainer. staff of the wild outperforms anything else vs ashlands enemies.
    wont count trollstav as a ranged weapon as its own thing in every way currently. its also great for mineing underwater rocks....
    side question for the video :
    do you use a mod for better lighting effects? as mine dont look like these in terms of colors and brightness. and i have every setting cranked to max under graphics with a 3080.

That's why I run light armor that reduces stamina usage and a bubble shield. • @BeezerGutlr
      @BeezerGutlr Před 18 dny +1

      @@vnixned2 I've tested out all weapons prior to the Ashlands and like I said, the Frostner is really only serviceable.
      It gets beaten out by the Silver sword, its damage is super low compared to Mistlands tier weapons and the only thing it's really got going for it, is the knockback and frost. Both of which do next to nothing against heavy enemies like Morgens and Valkyries because they resist knockback and slow effects. This means Frostner is really only effective at chipping down weak enemies in the Ashlands and imo there are plenty of other weapons that handle both types of enemies better than Frostner can, for example, even the Himmin Afl beats out the Frostner and it also has knockback.
      I think people are just really comfortable with using Frostner at this point and knowing how to use a weapon to it's full potential, is a big factor in what makes it effective. That does not correlate to it being the best however.
