Best gaming console ever, no doubt. The graphics were improved but they still focused on gameplay. The games weren't too complicated and it was on the last systems with cartridges. Something magical about those days I just remember my neighbor had the SNES a yer before us and it was bittersweet because i wanted to play this game at home so bad.

I mean they put so much money, energy, workforce into games these days. But the games of the late 80s and early 90s were just iconic. So much love was put into them. Even the scores. It was just a unique era of video game design!
i mean with all the Hardware limitations they really had to get creative to get some games running. Now a day you really feel that most games are just shat out in to the market to make a quick profit. Im not saying all 80-90s games where great. I just wanna drive home the point that the good games from that era have a Legendary Status for a reason.
In my opinion, the creative era of games ended around when the DS released, It may be only me but after that most non-indie games felt a little too samey. But yes, 90's were Golden if we speak about creativity
@@schizophrenic_rambler It's because the games in the 1990s evolved with their limitations, and the choice between making a game on Genesis or Super Nintendo wasn't console market share or gambling on which would be more popular, it was the strengths and weaknesses of their hardware. Want a graphics and sound intensive game? Super Nintendo. Want an extremely complex game that needs a lot of CPU usage? Genesis. Multi-platform games were a lot rarer, simply because a lot of the time developers needed something that wasn't on one but was on the other.
Reminds me of my childhood. Those days when you got a new cartridge and could not wait to get home from school to play a single game. The magics gone these days, everything had to be fun and playable, and the creativity was off the scale with awesome soundtracks. I miss it ❤

Ironically, the devs behind burnout games, were going to create an fzero game, a new on on the wii u. They had scheduling conflicts or some shit. That saddens me. The burnout games are amazing.

I've never played an F-Zero game. However, I am a music enjoyer, a longtime Captain Falcon main in Smash Bros, and also a Mario Kart 8 player. Mute City and Big Blue are not only my favorite tracks in Mario Kart 8, but also have my favorite themes in that game. Of course, I love the originals, but the themes from Mario Kart feel like a true extension of the songs, almost what the songs were supposed to be if they weren't limited by the technology of the time.

Remember when we were all floored when a game console achieved the ability to scale, rotate, flatten, and perspective correct a bitmap pixel image? The jump from 8-bit 3-color 8x8 or 16x16 sprites to full real-time bitmap transformation on 16-bit hardware was a revolution. Gaining the ability to perform Ray-Tracing Lighting looks rather pedestrian by comparison.
It's because ray tracing doesn't affect the ways you can play a game, it only really changes how the game looks. The ability of the N64, PlayStation, and Saturn to run 3D engines with full polygons changed the way their games were played compared to the SNES and Genesis, while ray tracing just makes shadows look better.
I just bought a modded virtual snes with over 100+ classics including this one.... being born in 1992 I never realized how ahead of time these games were conceptually... from the storylines to games scores. I remember walking into my uncles room as a kid and it being a Nintendo gold mine. He had every system, NES to Wii set up and ready to play, with an insane amount of games. This was one of the first games I remember vividly falling in love with as soon as I heard the soundtrack.

My dad raised me and my brother on the SNES, even to this day it’s an excellent console and the OSTs from almost every game are incredible

I remember walking into my uncles room as a kid and it being a Nintendo gold mine. He had every system, NES to Wii set up and ready to play, with an insane amount of games. This was one of the first games I remember vividly falling in love with as soon as I heard the soundtrack.
