    Front & rear mounts are hydrolic. Can get good set of aftermarket mounts from partsgeek for $ about
    $100 for all 3. I did it and works great. Brand is TRQ.u dont have to use oe parts for everything as some would like u to think.fir
    St stableize motor with low profile jack. Just touch oil pan before u do job, dont lift motor.

    Everything I’ve read online complains about how difficult replacing the rear mount is.
    But after watching your video (terrific, by the way) it seems fairly straightforward. Remove the strut bar, undo some bolts, move some wires out of the way, pull the vacuum line off, shimmy the whole mount out, and reverse all the steps.
    Time-consuming, maybe. But it certainly seems very do-able. Am I missing something, or is it really that simple?

    I just got my motor mount and as I’m looking at them my back mount just has a hole in it where the vacuum line is supposed to go where can I buy the mount that I should have

    This is what's kind of annoying about these cars Same with the Odyssey and Accord from the same era These motor mounts go bad It seems like all the freaking time And what I don't understand is why didn't Honda do a recall on all of these cars And just fix the problem entirely by engineering a mount that doesn't fail so fast

    My daughter just bought a 2006 Acura ,her boyfriend told her that while we are at welding the Y pipe , it will be a good idea to replace the mount , but this means removing the mount from under instead from the top , I knew he is full of crap .

    why do motor mounts need a vacuum line???

    • @JaboTheMechanic
      @JaboTheMechanic  Před 5 lety +3

      Active hydraulic mounts are like passive hydraulic mounts. In addition to fluid-filled chambers, active mounts also have a vacuum chamber. Engine vacuum is applied to the chamber, controlled by a vacuum switching valve (VSV). This enables the mount to adjust its stiffness, depending on the situation. At engine idle, the VSV opens, "loosening" the mount to absorb more vibration. As engine speed increases, the mount "stiffens" to absorb less vibration. Some active hydraulic mounts have their own controllers. These can induce a "counter-vibration" to further reduce engine vibrations. Because active mounts are expensive, be sure to check their vacuum lines and VSVs before condemning the mount, itself

      @@JaboTheMechanic WOW... I had no idea mounts were so complex. I thought they were similar to bushings in complexity...

      i ordered the rear motor mount for my 2006 automatic Acura TL and it did not have the vacuum hose pain. is it supposed to have it? I replace the front motor mount already and it had the vacuum hose pin
