I gotta say that part is both funny and feels meaningful, subtly poignant...even if still quite weird... it's like she's saying(unconsciously) if they(the society at large) are going to treat her in a particular way...she's going to mirror it...because that's what a society is basically... so the kid deserves the weirdness coming back to him...

You did so well with the Norwegian language film recap, and making the important, sensitive points about the so many levels of diversity that were offended ... colour, race, gender, when the film showed disempowerment's many nuances, starting with the Father who meant well and was hurting but still had the dark closet.
It mustn't be easy to handle a film like this with tact and diplomacy and to keep up with the cultural, the era and pronunciations.

A story about someone who had it rough, and this at no fault of her own, who despite this managed to persevere and overcome. No victim narrative, no intersection of grievances, no trying to steal moral superiority because life wasn't fair to her, nope, just a person who rose above and overcame. 17:27 A comfortable travel velocity of a kicksled is about 30 km/h (19 mph), in competitions, and downslopes, they reach much higher speeds.
Comfortable travel velocity by bicycle is about 15-25 km/h.
You can use kicksleds on both snow and ice (as long as your boot get enough friction for the kick, and the snow isn't really deep).
Seeing the joy of 80+ year old, fragile, seniors, kicking away in 40-50 km/h, is amazing. They are to old to walk or use a bicycle well, especially on ice or in snow, but many Scandinavian elderly can still manage to use a kicksled, just as well as they did in their youth.

@@msmcfly I grew up in a part of Sweden, where they have been puting sand and salt on winter streets and roads, since the 1960's, so unfortunately I missed kicksleding during my childhood, and for most of my adult life.
Then I lived for a couple of years, during the 90's, in a part of Sweden, where they don't put sand or salt on roads during winter time. Oftentimes they didn't bother to plough the roads from snow either. This because people would complain about not being able to ski or use a kickslej or snow mobile. It was amazing. In my native part of Sweden, the few kickslejs you could still see in use, was only used on icy lakes, and I had no idea what a versatile mode of transportation a kickslej could be. And there was a stark contrast how the elderly behaved during winter: in my native part of Sweden, most elderly is afraid to go outside during winter, because they are afraid of slipping and hurting themselves, many even hate the winter months, but in parts of Sweden where kickslej are still a viable mode of transportation, the elderly *loved* snow and ice, because then the kickslej made them as mobile as if they where young.
And I do recommend googling for kickslej videos. It's called "sparkstötting" in Swedish, "sparkstøtting" in Norse, and "potkukelkka" in Finnish. [ The difference in glyphs used, between Norse and Swedish, was deliberately caused by a Danish king, who didn't want to continue to use the same glyphs as was used in Swedish in Danish, but he didn't start this lingustic non-sens, the contemporary Swedish king did, when the Swedish king published the first Swedish Bible translation (The Gustav Vasa Bible), he deliberately choose words, and grammar, to use, often from obscure Swedish dialects, that was as different from Danish as possible, not the words and grammar most prevalent in, then, common dialects of Swedish. And nowadays, four centuries later, all modern Swedes have, more or less, adapted a spoken Swedish that is similar to the one in that Bible. ]

3:59 "Tidende" is a somewhat archaic word that means "the current events" or "the news". During the 16-19th century, it was very popular as a part of newspaper names in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. It still live on in some older newspaper names, e.g. Bergens Tidende ("Current events in Bergen"), founded in 1868.
A newspaper is called "avis" in Norse. The Norse word "avis" has a similar etymology as the word "avis" in French. A daily newspaper is called "dagsavis" or "dagblad". "Dag" means "day", "dag-" means "day(ly)", "blad" means "sheet (of paper)".

I heard that the true story of Beauty and the Beast was inspired by a man with the same condition and a woman of royal blood. He was actually taken in by the royal family as they were fascinated by the condition. The had doctors and scientists studying him who realized he was a brilliant man. The couple had children, some of them having the same condition as their dad.
He was accepted and loved because royalty loved him. People take their cues from people they admire. If a person like this was being bullied and ridiculed, it would only take a comment of a celebrity, praising the condition, to turn the bullies attitudes around. They'd suddenly be kinder to the person they had been so mean to.

Nah you got it all wrong, the royals were only fascinated in him bc they saw him as a pet, in fact as a child he was kept in an iron cage and they sold 4 of his children to other ppl who saw them as animals

In history it happened pretty often when child has been born all hairy but being born in poor family is a death sentence and damnation for long time misery. Being born in rich family it would be winning a jackpot.

It hurts to not be excepted by your own family for the way you look. I wasn't born with them, but by the age of 10, I've had like a billion freckles all over my face (even on my lips). My brother calls me "chocolate chip face", and my mom is always pressuring me to wear makeup to cover them up. I don't even care that I have them; my freckles don't bother me. I've never felt a need to hide them. Having issue with this girl's look is other people's shortcomings, not hers.

You made me cry!!!! Omfg that sounds like a lovely and Intense movie such great lessons that can be taught from here and many dynamic challenges that happen between father and daughter even with Eva non relationship with her mother she hurt an mostly probably wasn’t taught about her . When the recapped came where she asked him to draw her it crushed my heart ♥️. Then to find to out he drew her throughout her life until adult hood . This movie also covers finding your self as a person and being happy for who you no matter you shape or size , beauty isn’t just about how we see each other it’s about how we feel on the inside as well. If we don’t accept ourselves then who will . She learned to over come and love herself and found happiness doing things she loved and let’s not talk about how she hustle until she felt she can start her own way freaken amazing . And that lakeside kid was a creep he was wayyy to mature for his age how he started her and probably spoke to her made her feel self .Eva didn’t understand the meaning behind his touches ( let me explain her . Eva was shuttered through her child hood and shunned as a teenager she never saw another person or boys body she was curious on how his skin was smooth and hers not . His touches shouldn’t goes without saying as we see him with another girl doing the same he did with Eva )
Ps . Grammar police please b gentle (😂😂🤣🤣🤣)
