It's a rough start but stick with the old gal, you'll be glad ya did
You have yet to steer me wrong.
You have the best Dead related channel on CZcams!! Thanks for sharing all these great slices of time with all of us.
I think it really picks up at the Jack Straw. The Eyes --> Big River on here is obscene
In Wall we Trust.

Jack Straw rips. This band is like oxygen to me. Can’t imagine what it was like to have actually been there.
Oxygen yes!
Wall of Sound is hands down the best source for excellent GD shows on CZcams. You sir, are a master!

Thanks Kris 💜🤙
I meet the Grateful Dead in the late 80's. 74 is so special, I love the one drummer , I love that lthe wall of sound was changing the way people heard and expected to hear music. I saw about 100 shows some Brent then bruce then Vince, I dont ever think I saw the band achieve lift off, but it was still the best thing going on the planet so I at the age of 14 went on dead tour. The ethics I hold today the things I believe were all things I learned from the music and the people. My parents were residents of NYC and AS THE 2015's -2020 rolled in I was in the city maybe 2 nights a year. one night my dog got all wild so I take him outdoor for a walk, I live 3 blocks from southerly's auction house, I decided to walk by see what was going on. A sign GRATEFUL DEAD AUCTION open. Hmmm I walked in and got to go see pieces of the wall and ram rods jump suit, I had not had a hankering to walk by that auction house in 30 years , but somehow that night I went. The dismantling of GDTS I was aware of and the arguments over if the band owned tiger ir Garcia did was not my thing. I knew all that was going on but I was not paying attentions and yet here I was in a room filled with parts of the wall and guitars. I started to cry, Its still happening the walll is still being magic, and doing things that nothing else can do, becoming me to it sale. Garcia Hunter pig-pen, Owsley. It's all still happening. I love this band and I am glad you do too
Recording starts off pretty rough but gets a lot better as it goes, and an interesting stereo take, all the instruments very distinct.
👍🥳🦆💨🚪LOVE 1974
six weeks before my first show , phenomenal run, three hour plus long shows , that's superdead !!!!!
High volume Saturday here we come!
I've been listening to this band for a long long time. I'm not sure I recall hearing anything so lucid, laid back, fluently voiced and astonishing as that Eyes of the World. The kind where you think. WHAT in the HELL did Garcia just blossom out of his guitar? and then, whoosh, it's gone. On to the next impossible riff.
And the bass lead in the middle....
I have an audience copy of this taped by Rob Berger which is quite good for that era. Should be interesting to hear the sbd. The Eyes-Big River is spectacular, long been one of my favorite versions.
WOS🎉 another beautiful surprise for me to enjoy. Blessings to you and your family. Thank you.🎉❤🎉❤p☮️🕊️

I just clicked through a bit of the show for now. 1:17:50 or so. MLBJ squeezed into a China>Rider. Sounds just like the one from Dick's Picks 12. I lost the first of the three discs witha similar sounding China>Rider with the MLBJ on it and called the Dead store and said can I please please please just replace this one disc and they said of course and sent me one for free. Btw, Jerry's guitar playing on this 6/16 show at about 18:20 is off the fooking hook. Thank you so much WOS. 🌹NFA 🌹

@@krissantos5170 Now and forever 💚
Yeah thanks man, because my setlist for this outstanding show doesn't show that great China Rider period... and then the order for the second and 3rd set is not the same as the setlist I have for it...? Maybe somebody got a few shows mixed up? Man Idk what is going on with it other than I was born in 72 and damn this era is really really dadgum good. Even with Donna Jean bless her heart ❤️
@@dougshelby939yup,Donna really went out of her way to ruin some good jams.damn that women for trying too hard
Alright !! I recommend this one to you a few months back !! Lost my cassettes a long time ago, How about the Eyes of the World>Big River jam !! Then that Truckin' jam !! Thanks

GRATEFUL DEAD
summer tour!
Some are Grateful, Summer Dead.
Wonderful! Excellent job once again
The WALL OF SOUND lives. ✌💚🙏😎
yeah but it's a soundboard recording anyway lol
@@PTMG If you don't know you don't know. Cheers.
Killer set lists
A longtime favorite of mine. Had this show on cassette back in the day.
I would just like to share my opinion with y'all's hopefully caring even it's just a little bit, that Owsely Stanley "Bear", was simply great, very talented sound system designer.
In addition to the one that taught everyone to treasure soundboard recordings.
Ohhh yeah, ol Bear wasn't an average chemist either...ya know?
👍✌️😎
He made the greatest potions known to man. He was an alchemist to the highest degree.
doug, truly a 🧙♂🦉
❤74 Thanks @wallofsound
Thank God for all the tapers! Imagine if the Grateful Dead/JGB shows were lost to time! Not a world I would want to live in lol
I really like this funky, relaxing version of Bertha. It's a real shame that the sound wasn't dialed in from the get go.
Thanks WoS... great jams. Shame about the bad mix at the beginning.
I can dig it
I had a tape of this show but it was umpteenth generation audience recording and it seemed to play at about 50% faster speed.
thanks for putting this out for the world of Iowa Deadheads
As an aside, I am trying to envision how the regular square Iowans reacted to all the freaks invading Des Moines on that summer day. I bet it was just fun time had by all.
Epic show..thank u, wally!
Thank you WoSw✌️❤️🤘
Super energized 74 LONG shows✌🏻🌞
this show is a 10+
Great way to start the day
Charlie boy you'll never fail .ur the goat god.hehe
Sending some love yur way
What a wonderful video thumbnail!
Love me some 74 always.
thanx WOS...this is some cool shit!!!
Sublime. I like the flaws. Keeps it adventurous. ⚡️
Ahhhh 1974...I stll had hair,,,great time for one and all
Thanks. Again.
Keith is going off on the organ in this one. I love hearing him so upfront. Amazing talent.
He’s not playing any organ. Agree on the talent.
@@danthegreat4245 he sure is my friend.
@@adamhaut6859Piano and electric piano. No organ to be heard
@@danthegreat4245 let's agree he tickled the ivories in a magical way. That's all that matters.
@@adamhaut6859100%. But Brent played organ. Keith didn’t.
I was 3, but hey, I still had a great time at the concert!😅
74 is the best
Running from dat window😅
Keith goes in on Deal
4 hour monster N.F.A 65-95!!!
I had a hard run
I'd love the music if I could hear it, all I can hear is Mickey Hart! But I guess it's a great show if you're into percussion
No Mickey in this period, just Bill
@@deweygill1973some of my favorite Grateful Dead 71 to 74 funky and jazzy.
Um mickey wasn't in the band from 1971-1974
@@cosmicslopass exactly
it wouldn’t sound nearly so good if it was just Mickey…🤷🏻true story. I love the GD as a one drummer band in this era. More fluid and jazzy and dynamic. Two drummers adds some power at the expense of dexterity, imho.
😂
This is a terrible bootleg
Obviously listened for 30 secs and then threw his dummy outa the cot.
The sound system was new, and the duty of monitoring tape levels was secondary. If you listen long enough, it gets better.
Can you post a link to a better copy of this show please? Love to hear it
I like
Great performance. Very jazzy Eyes 👀
It's just the first song that's messed up.
Be positive ❤
