People think that when you want to change your life, you need to think big. But world-renowned habits expert James Clear has discovered another way. He knows that real change comes from the compound effect of hundreds of small decisions: doing two push-ups a day, waking up five minutes early, or holding a single short phone call.
    He calls them atomic habits.
In this ground-breaking book, Clears reveals exactly how these minuscule changes can grow into such life-altering outcomes. He uncovers a handful of simple life hacks (the forgotten art of Habit Stacking, the unexpected power of the Two Minute Rule, or the trick to entering the Goldilocks Zone), and delves into cutting-edge psychology and neuroscience to explain why they matter. Along the way, he tells inspiring stories of Olympic gold medalists, leading CEOs, and distinguished scientists who have used the science of tiny habits to stay productive, motivated, and happy.

This book goes along well with mindfulness books such as "30 Days to Reduce Anxiety" by Harper Daniels. Don't give up on yourselves, ever.

Can't be that bad of a book if y'all took the time to read it. And the fact that you took the time to read it shows that you seek to improve your life but you also seek guidance. The craziest part is that no matter which or what variation of self-help book you're reading, the key and all of the answers that you seek are already within you. We struggle to remember the answers, or to truly know them. So we seek them in the words of others. There's nothing to learn here. only things remember. The author is reminding you.

I lost it at the admiring referrence to Scott Adams, a Trump enthusiast who spent 4 years telling everybody who would listen that Trump was secretly a genius. I know it's just a quote, but it's a a good example of the problem I have with the general attitude of the book. Optimize every aspect of your life so that you can become more X, which at the end of the day seems to boil down to making more money. Meh. The idea that habits are important isn't revolutionary, and I really don't like the packaging here. I'm not sure how this is supposed to make me a happier person.

This is a bad take. Too many assumptions about the intentions of the author rather than focusing on the content.
On the Scott Adams part, the book came out in 2018 & clearly wasn't written overnight. Scott Adams may have had bad takes around 2016 & later, but he really lost it around 2020.
The book isn't just about business or making money. There are many parts of the book that are applicable to your personal life. Further, to assume that there is a distinct & absolute line between work & personal life is a bad idea. For most people they are a loop feeding into each other & require a fine balance.
This is not a recommendation to buy the book. Please make your own decision in that regard.
