I love the chapter where Djikstra travels to Kovir and we get the backstory to the land. I'm glad you told it, Kovir is fascinating and has lots of potential for countless storylines.
Ngl that chapter sucked. I didn't mind the world building but it has no place in a mainline book. It was tedious and completely irrelevant to the greater novel.

Even though if it was ever adapted into a serial then it wouldn't be that great to watch at. I would combine it with Yennefer chapter.
The coldest place in the game is apparently Kaedwen, where School of the Wolf is located. My guess? It's about rebuilding a new School after the Wolf fell in Witcher 3.
I doubt that someone would make a new witcher school after the 3rd game, since witchers canonically went extinct after that period and modern people of that world don't even believe that witchers existed (as a mutant monster hunters). They think they were some druid cast xd

I'd love to see a Witcher game set in Nilfgaard. Or if not the main setting then it should at least be the subject of a dlc. Kovir is a definite top pick as well. Getting to see Zerrikania would also be pretty sweet.
Nilfgaard could very easily be based of Italy, Spain and France like Toussaint is, it would be cool to have an entire open world map look like Toussaint, it would also be cool to see the capital cities f nilfgaard and the royal palace, I bet it puts northern cities to shame

Very interesting video. Thank you for keeping the torch alight Witcher George. Personally, I would like to see Mahakam, Kovir and Poviss, Ofir and far south, as well as the Nilfgardian Empire. However, it would have made me very happy to see a redeemed Dettlaff assisting Geralt.
Still could happen if they went with Geralt as main protagonist and those Ofieri Royalty succeed to subdue him second time thus lead him to be smuggled to Ofier in the next installment.
Yeah I've never been a fan of snowy landscapes in games. Or deserts. Rdr2 probably came closest to making them viable and even then it was used moderately
If Ciri is the main character, or one of them... Could you potentially travel to another world as/with her? Maybe into the world With Galahad? Would be cool to be able to switch between those worlds.
I really hope they introduce stealth combat and mechanics to Witcher 4. Would add a great new dynamic to the series.Makes sense for school of the Lynx to be stealthier too. A middle ground between Wolf and Cat.
If you romance Triss, Geralt tells Ciri he plans to go to Kovir with her. So it’d be interesting to see if that becomes the case in the Witcher 4 depending on your decisions

My fear is that they get carried way and try to do too much... Witcher 3 was big, but not overwhelming big. Just keep it interesting to explore and not running repetitive little things around on an empty open world... like they did with Cyberpunk (before the updates).
WItcher 3 map is way bigger than Cyberpunk and has more repetitive encounters (all of the point of interest basically). Cyberpunk open world even before the update has a higher concentration of content and the point of interest are often more interesting than the one in Witcher 3 (you can get unique weapons, cool stories and there are tons of secrets). 2.0 update didn’t change the world map, it mainly changed the systems of gameplay.
@ni9274 It's hard to accurately explain why cyberpunk feels so empty. But to start id say enemy respawns are a huge problem with it. To get the same depth of content that Witcher 3 provides in cyberpunk, you more or less need to be a completionist and go out of your way. The main quests felt too disconnected from the side content. There were tons of things that just felt sidetracked and shallow.
Kovir seems likely to me. They have talked about it enough in previous games that it has just enough lore to be interesting, and have already piqued players' interests. It seems very logical because there is just enough lore to base something on but not so much that you can't create anything you want really for a new story without plot strings.
This is the only valid location in my mind, based off our time in Witcher 3 and all the narrative details and key figures being directed into Kovir. I am so glad I am not alone in thinking this is the next setting.

3 things I want from the next witcher game #1 Nilfgaard based with Empress Ciri (great way to include her without having her as the main focus) #2 Vampire main plot (can't do the wild hunt they're gone) like a vampiric elder is sick of humans #3 Multiple combat styles like Letho's dual daggers that shits just cool and would make for more customizable play styles
I would absolutely love travelling through Zerrikania personally since we always hear about it and it's just completely different from the other lands, but probably unlikely as a main location for a game.
I've been anticipating at least a DLC or game section in the future that takes Geralt to Zerrikania. The region and its culture get relentlessly referenced throughout all three games and the more desert/near eastern type of setting described in it might give the game an atmospheric feel similar to Assassin's Creed, which would be interesting. Especially given Geralt's enhanced abilities and mutations.
I think kovir would be the easiest place for it to be set it's one of very few locations on the continent that wasn't really effected by the war with nilfguaard and the north so they wouldn't have much work to make it work around the different endings to 3
Flotsam. I want to see more of that place. Who ever came up with naming that place needs a bump in their pay! It looks like Geralt might not be in the next trilogy as the main character unfortunately, but the first game is getting a remake so all’s not lost for the white wolf fans. I would love to see And be able to go through more unique locations from the books: Thaned, Cintra, Temple of Melitele, Blaviken,.Sodden, Brokilon.... Obviously excited about the whole new Witcher game, cant wait!
Imagine if this was like a modern day witcher world. That would be crazy. But theoretically, even if this game takes place 100 or so years after W3, we could still encounter Geralt because we find him being able to warp to the future at the end of SoS. So Geralt could show up as a side character or easter egg even. That would be awesome. I would love to be able to create my own witcher, especially if it's a new school we haven't heard of before, it seems like the potential for that is really high.
Kovir would be a nice new location to see 😮 One of my favorite places in the witcher game's was flotsam so im always hoping we get a huge open world map like in the one's in witcher 3 cause just imagine flotsam the size of at least white orchard.
I've recently been getting back into your videos, and I saw this one and I remembered your video talking how it might be a good idea for us to make are own character and choose a school, or we can create are own character for the new school, you might have covered this if so I'm just dumb, but in the witcher you don't really get to choose what school you go to so what If it's something like we create are character who gets taken by a witcher via law of surprise and are taken to the new school
I can see The School Of The Lynx being established by the Koviri crown as an instrument of the realm. It could be a collaborative effort from remaining witchers who travelled north to Kovir to keep the practice alive. We could see some Wolves, some Griffins and even some Cats (Lynxes are essentially a cross between a wolf and a cat... maybe the two schools are attempting to converge?). A really nice touch would be if the some of the schools founders and some of the mages who helped establish it are people we're familiar with (Eskel, Lambert, Triss, Kiera etc). I would also like to see a time jump of about 100~200 years. This would allow technology to flourish, especially in a place as wealthy and resource-rich as Kovir. Perhaps we see rudimentary firearms or other advancements like a repeater crossbow with silver bolts.
Not sure about the time jump, but honestly a time right afther witcher 3 might not be bad, since you will be dealing whit the fall of Novigrad and Redenia as it developes and your protagonist coud be Eskel sinse he said he wont be coming back to Kaer Morhen and is more reasonable than Lambert ( more of a chanse to agree to a new school ). That being said Lambert coud be the man since he had a friend from the Cat school and Keira is whit him and coud help.
Im fairly certian that there is dialog with Keira and Lambert that happens after Vesemir's funeral where Kiera states that they could theoretically create Witchers using magic and would no longer need to use the Trial of the Grasses. Canonically, she and Lambert leave together, so there is a good possibility that this is how the Linx School is formed.
+1 to nilfgaard. Theyre the most magnificent of all the kingdoms as well as the lead antagonists, I feel like we're owed a little exploration and mischief
I didn't know that there is another school named "Lynx". I searched it up and it turns out it's actually canon to CDPR now. Too bad not in the books. Anyways, I am so excited for this new Witcher game. Hope they don't rush this out.
It is a shame that the witcher 3 haven't got a decent ending it deserved, i mean there's plenty loose end in my opinion specially the death of the prince of ofieri in the sewer. That incident could lead to a new map and new expansion pack with new possibilities, but CDPR seems too afraid to squeeze the maximum potential of the witcher 3
CDPR teased in December that Geralt will return in this new trilogy. I, for one, am grateful for that. No mention if he will be the protagonist, but c’mon. His presence alone takes center stage when he’s in a scene. I always thought Beuclair was a terrible way for Geralt’s story to end. No Witcher has ever died in his own bed.
I'd be ok with any setting as long as it has a fixed & established protagonist like geralt. Imagine how much less interesting witcher 3 would be without geralt. I don't want another "create your own character" scenario like cyberpunk and skyrim.
This is what I sent them years ago for what I wanted....I doubt it'll happen lol So I know that Geralts story is supposed to be over, but it just cant be, it just cant be lol. And I know you guys are busy with cyberpunk, but for a couple of weeks Ive been daydreaming about a new DLC, and I thought I might share it. Im no writer but here it is. So obviously it starts with the narrator talking about the things Geralt has been doing for the past couple of years in retirement. Then the cinematic opens at Corvo Bianco, where a full on battle is waging in the fields by the vineyard. Geralt is fighting dozens of enemies, progessively getting more and more tired. As the last enemy falls, Geralt falls to his knees, he looks around at the dead enemies, his gaze falls to the ground. In the distance we hear the Majordomo "lunch is ready sir", Geralt looks up to a bright and hot midday afternoon. Instead of bodies lying around, its weeds, lots of weeds. He grabs a rag and cleans the green goo off of his sword and walks to the house. They eat lunch on the porch, play some gwent, and drink some white wolf as the hours pass by. As the sun starts to set beautifully over the estate, Majordomo says "This is a nice life" Geralt responds "Of course it is, you keep beating me!"gesturing to the cards. Majordomo chuckles and takes a sip of wine. Geralt leans his head back, closing his eyes says "yeah it is a good life, a nice quiet life." He doses off and a dream sequence starts, hes hunting monsters, fighting bad men, saving damsels, relishing in the glory and excitement of the chase. He jerks awake to the sound of crickets in the darkness, hes alone, finishes his glass of wine, and mumbles "starting to feel too quiet". He walks into the house, softly closes the door and the screen fades. In the morning, he decides to make a trip into town, to get out of the house and to have a master blacksmith sharpen and clean his sword after the yardwork he did with it. He does this, and walking out of the shop over hears "Im done! I quit! I cant take it anymore!" Another responds "Well how will I get to skellige?" "I dont care! In fact I hope a centipede gets you right here in toussaint!" Geralt is intrigued and goes to talk to the guy being abandoned. He ends up accepting a job offer to escort the man to skellige. Upon arrival, he hangs around for a little bit to visit with old friends. He keeps coming upon various mysterious contracts. People and animals keep disappearing in the mountains. Sheep and cows taken from the fields, travelers and farmers taken from the path, but all leaving no evidence behind. Even cyclops's are being driven into the town causing havoc. He starts to believe its all connected to some flying beast, but what could it be to be causing such problems. He investigates and investigates, sets traps, waits and waits, but nothing works. Finally on a very stormy night, hes asleep under a tree, waiting for his decoy livestock to attract something. Something shakes the ground and awakes him, thru the thick rain, and wind, and clouds, he cannot see anything. He draws his silver sword and takes a knee, waiting for something to appear. He thinks he hears....a low grumbling...laugh? And then a MASSIVE stream of fire erupts, engulfing the live cattle and wooden and spiked decoys alike. Above the sound of the storm he hears the rushing of large wings and then nothing. "A dragon? Couldnt be." Through more events and investigating we learn that a young mage had fallen in love with the daughter of a disciple of lebioda. Clearly this would not be approved in the family. A bunch of drama goes down, maybe the daughter ends up dying? And then the mage turns himself into a giant dragon to wreak havoc on the area. Of course in true CDPR fashion, there would be multiple possible outcomes of the story. So I know youre probably rolling your eyes right now haha, I know the likelihood of this being a DLC is low, but I just had to share it, get it off my chest you know? Thanks for all that you guys do! And thanks for reading this, I appreciate it. Now off to see if Im going to win those gwent decks on ebay! Oh and P.S. if you guys came out with a classic console styled gwent for android, I would most definitely pay for it. $10 or more would be well worth it! 😘😘

Been trying to spread the message but wherever it’s set we will see a return to gaunter o dimm id guess the trilogy will leave up to game no3 as gaunter the final boss. There’s a shite ton of evidence in the Witcher 3 that says the devs are having him as a background character outside of hearts of stone were not meant to forget about him. There’s a reference to him by the dwarves in white orchard at the end of the game, blood and wine he cursed the spotted wight, also he isn’t in the books he is a new character of cd project red, I’d bet my life savings gaunter will play a role in the new trilogy

The company is too big to not follow the latest trends and they seem very Americanized. I don't think they can do anything better than W3, but it won't be as bad as Ubisoft games.
@@aurelien5747 I should clarify, I know in the Witcher, lore there are other continents of humans that doesn’t look white. My thing is, don’t have a mix group of people and not explain it. Every time I watch the Netflix Witcher it sticks out like a sore thumb to me. At least Game of Thrones when there is a minority character. They explain quite well. That’s all I ask.
@@aurelien5747 Well the biggest trading city in the game is Novigrad and you had only eastern european white people ( to be exact Polish ). We had arabs in the game who are from Ofeir and afcore Elfs, Gnomes and Dwarfs. And that is it really, medieval europe didnt have contacts whit black africans or indians. We coud see asians since the Empire of Nilfguard falls sgortly afther it counquers the north to a Mongol invasion.
Everyone knows the witcher world is full of disgruntled, poor and very drunk white people doing shady things for pompous nobility while the horny heroic white people having vanilla sex every 5 seconds save the day. It's not that they even need to explain it honestly, I don't give a shit if people call it racism but that's culture, it's inspired by real history, and it's an aesthetic that doesn't need to be emulated by other cultures who had their own history and aesthetics. It's like corporations are saying if you're born white your identity is wrong. They can suck it till the day I die: my ancestors had the best folklore and a solid taste in art, and I love fucking around in these fictional universes they inspired portraying them.
I'd think if it does take place in Kovir, roughly a short while after the Witcher 3, then there should be an effort to show that Kovir is beginning to enter the industrial revolution. Kovir is the richest northern kingdom with its economy based on industry and finance. It would be a huge breath of fresh air, seeing Kovir as more modern and tech advanced than the late medieval setting we are all used to. We can also have access to new toys such as early firearms and experimental gadgets.
Is there anyone else worried about the fact that they announced a trilogy of games (this doesn’t happen often or at all). This worries me because it could mean that the open world they make in the first game is not as massive a reach as The Witcher 3 and they might be trying to tell us to be patient until the 3rd game in the trilogy to get the biggest world possible. I just hope they go all out for each of their games instead of trying to give us pieces of a trilogy. I have such high expectations for the Witcher game after The Witcher 3.
I hope so too. It would be nice to have a cohesive story across 3 games (the Witcher 3 dropping Iorveth and many other characters was annoying but the game was so great it's hard to complain) but if the quality suffers overall that would be frustrating. Let's wait and see!

In my personal opinion, I do not expect that we will play as ciri because the story of The Witcher, I mean the game, in all its parts, revolves around Gerald and his adventures in this open world and developing himself in order to be stronger. It would not be logical or enjoyable for us to play as ciri in this open world in the fourth part of the series. I expect that The fourth part will be about the end of Gerald's story, entitled THE WITCHER 4 THE END OF THE WHITE WOLF

I mean don't get me wrong, they absolutely killed it with their world design and lore and it could certainly support spin offs, and the witcher franchise has already over achieved in what they've created, but let's be real, if it's not broken don't fix it, I liked Geralts story and games so much that I'd be pretty worried about them not being able to recreate that magic in a new character
Since we're off to explore a new witcher school, which (from what I've heard slipped off the tongue of somene in CDPR) was founded by Keira and Lambert, I'm all for creating our own witcher. Maybe even seeing older, Vesemir-age Lambert as a grand master of our school. CDPR proved they are able to create personal story for a new character made by the player in CP77, so I'm excited by the possibility of them polishing that even more. Imagine just finishing up your witcher trials, going on the path for the first time. They could implement seasons too, so that you'd be able to get back to the school in winter, like, 3 times during the game, as you slowly gain experience, scars and fame. It's just my childish dream, but hey - although it wasn't perfect - I got my much needed Harry Potter massive game last year.
I just want to be apart of a functioning witcher school. Not to just stumble through old ruins and texts that tell us how the schools use to be when they had lots of witchers and mages living in the castles, but to actually have a thriving school. See first hand the witcher trails and how it's performed on the children and confronting that morality first hand.
We already know that won't be the case. It'll either be a new protagonist or a create your own witcher. There's also a slight chance it's geralt again but that's unlikely.

When did they confirm the School of the Lynx? I thought it was still a rumour. Regardless I've been iffy about a new school because the others still haven't been explored but if it's set post Witcher 3, maybe at the turn of the century I'd be more accepting i think. Running with the consequences for the 2nd Conjunction of the Spheres. Also a second continent is discovered is discovered in the early 14th century so that could be a cool DLC or something. Maybe a venture to the Far North too

A melding of all the school styles to give the players full freedom if we aren't playing as a previously seen character. Interested to see what they do.
@@tomjones8859 Player original character is the last thing I'd like to see in a witcher game. Witcher franchize stands on it's characters and how complex and intresting they are. Protagonists createf by players are usually bland, often speakless and boring. The exeption is V from Cyberpunk because that character had an actual backstory and some kind of personality even though the player is the one choosimg it. I hope for the New character as a protagonist or maybe some other witcher like Eskel or even Ciri would be nice.
@@olafmikoaj3121 I'd definitely like to play as Eskel. He's almost on-par with Geralt when it comes to swordsmanship and plenty of room to be fleshed out. While I'd like to play as Ciri I'd prefer for that to be in a spin off. Ciri can't cast signs or drink potions so the core gameplay would be different for her.

Lambert had a friend in the Cat school and Keira is whit him so she is the mage they need. And as someone mentioned a Lynx is kinda like a Wolf and a Cat mixed.

I’m not really on board with a sequel to the Witcher 3. Now a prequel trilogy during the golden age of the Witcher schools, I’d be more on board with that. Even prequels also present their own sets of challenges. Also: Learn from failure that is suicide squad kill the justice league. Entertainment in general nowadays has a problem when it comes to respecting legacy characters.
Call me insane but i really want a witcher game kind of like hogwarts legacy, choose your school and certain schools will basically be like different classes and the tutorial is finishing your trials
I hope its not set in Zerrikania, I doubt Western writers will take the leap to portray a middle eastern themed society in an interesting way. It would be far too sanitized. The Zerrikanian merchant in Witcher 3 was fine but I wouldn't like the whole region to get his demeanor. Hell, I even doubt that Warhammer Fantasy would do Araby justice if they ever try it and that goes double for CDProjekt Red with Zerrikania. And of course there would be too much desert filler space.

What will make The Witcher 4 awesome! 1: Character Creation, rather than having an already established character like Geralt, players should have the option to create their character from scratch and have a selection of what school they want their character to be from, such as the School of the wolf, Griffin, the cat/lynx and so on, maybe even introduce a new school that no one has heard or encountered before. 2: Keep the REDengine, I like this engine and it makes the Witcher 3 look good and The Witcher 4 should be built up on the same engine, but with more improvements where The Witcher 3 left off. Plus some added new improvements and features to the game. 3: Bring back monsters from previous games and introduce monsters we haven't seen yet, the kind from the books that are not in the games. 4: Companions, like a fellow Witcher or even a mage of the player's choice, plus the player's character can have a relationship if they want to. 5: Finally, involving the character creation feature I mentioned, let players decide if they want to be Witchers or mages and have let them decide if they want to be something other than human, like being a non human like elves or dworves, this sort of feature could be fun to experiment with for those who love Character Creations.

Yeah I've never been a fan of snowy landscapes in games. Or deserts. Rdr2 probably came closest to making them viable and even then it was used moderately
Skyrim managed pretty well with that. In fact I think it had the most interesting location out of all the mainline TES games.

I really hope they introduce stealth combat and mechanics to Witcher 4. Would add a great new dynamic to the series.Makes sense for school of the Lynx to be stealthier too. A middle ground between Wolf and Cat.
If you romance Triss, Geralt tells Ciri he plans to go to Kovir with her. So it’d be interesting to see if that becomes the case in the Witcher 4 depending on your decisions

My fear is that they get carried way and try to do too much... Witcher 3 was big, but not overwhelming big. Just keep it interesting to explore and not running repetitive little things around on an empty open world... like they did with Cyberpunk (before the updates).
WItcher 3 map is way bigger than Cyberpunk and has more repetitive encounters (all of the point of interest basically).
Cyberpunk open world even before the update has a higher concentration of content and the point of interest are often more interesting than the one in Witcher 3 (you can get unique weapons, cool stories and there are tons of secrets).
2.0 update didn’t change the world map, it mainly changed the systems of gameplay.
@ni9274 It's hard to accurately explain why cyberpunk feels so empty. But to start id say enemy respawns are a huge problem with it. To get the same depth of content that Witcher 3 provides in cyberpunk, you more or less need to be a completionist and go out of your way. The main quests felt too disconnected from the side content. There were tons of things that just felt sidetracked and shallow.

Kovir seems likely to me. They have talked about it enough in previous games that it has just enough lore to be interesting, and have already piqued players' interests. It seems very logical because there is just enough lore to base something on but not so much that you can't create anything you want really for a new story without plot strings.

This is the only valid location in my mind, based off our time in Witcher 3 and all the narrative details and key figures being directed into Kovir. I am so glad I am not alone in thinking this is the next setting.

3 things I want from the next witcher game
#1 Nilfgaard based with Empress Ciri (great way to include her without having her as the main focus)
#2 Vampire main plot (can't do the wild hunt they're gone) like a vampiric elder is sick of humans
#3 Multiple combat styles like Letho's dual daggers that shits just cool and would make for more customizable play styles
I would absolutely love travelling through Zerrikania personally since we always hear about it and it's just completely different from the other lands, but probably unlikely as a main location for a game.
I'd love to have a game in Kovir/Poviss. From what I gather they sound so mystical.
I've been anticipating at least a DLC or game section in the future that takes Geralt to Zerrikania. The region and its culture get relentlessly referenced throughout all three games and the more desert/near eastern type of setting described in it might give the game an atmospheric feel similar to Assassin's Creed, which would be interesting. Especially given Geralt's enhanced abilities and mutations.
I think kovir would be the easiest place for it to be set it's one of very few locations on the continent that wasn't really effected by the war with nilfguaard and the north so they wouldn't have much work to make it work around the different endings to 3
i think it would be cool if there were some new big threat and you are a new witcher tasked with finding the legendary white wolf of rivia.
Flotsam. I want to see more of that place. Who ever came up with naming that place needs a bump in their pay! It looks like Geralt might not be in the next trilogy as the main character unfortunately, but the first game is getting a remake so all’s not lost for the white wolf fans. Imagine if this was like a modern day witcher world. That would be crazy. But theoretically, even if this game takes place 100 or so years after W3, we could still encounter Geralt because we find him being able to warp to the future at the end of SoS. So Geralt could show up as a side character or easter egg even. That would be awesome. I would love to be able to create my own witcher, especially if it's a new school we haven't heard of before, it seems like the potential for that is really high.

One of my favorite places in the witcher game's was flotsam so im always hoping we get a huge open world map like in the one's in witcher 3 cause just imagine flotsam the size of at least white orchard.
I've recently been getting back into your videos, and I saw this one and I remembered your video talking how it might be a good idea for us to make are own character and choose a school, or we can create are own character for the new school, you might have covered this if so I'm just dumb, but in the witcher you don't really get to choose what school you go to so what If it's something like we create are character who gets taken by a witcher via law of surprise and are taken to the new school
I can see The School Of The Lynx being established by the Koviri crown as an instrument of the realm.
It could be a collaborative effort from remaining witchers who travelled north to Kovir to keep the practice alive. We could see some Wolves, some Griffins and even some Cats (Lynxes are essentially a cross between a wolf and a cat... maybe the two schools are attempting to converge?).
A really nice touch would be if the some of the schools founders and some of the mages who helped establish it are people we're familiar with (Eskel, Lambert, Triss, Kiera etc).
I would also like to see a time jump of about 100~200 years. This would allow technology to flourish, especially in a place as wealthy and resource-rich as Kovir. Perhaps we see rudimentary firearms or other advancements like a repeater crossbow with silver bolts.
Not sure about the time jump, but honestly a time right afther witcher 3 might not be bad, since you will be dealing whit the fall of Novigrad and Redenia as it developes and your protagonist coud be Eskel sinse he said he wont be coming back to Kaer Morhen and is more reasonable than Lambert ( more of a chanse to agree to a new school ).
That being said Lambert coud be the man since he had a friend from the Cat school and Keira is whit him and coud help.
I'd really like to see Nilfgaard, I want to see more of the culture and inner political workings

The amount of stuff they can add to the game could be a very peak game but we will see eventually
Im fairly certian that there is dialog with Keira and Lambert that happens after Vesemir's funeral where Kiera states that they could theoretically create Witchers using magic and would no longer need to use the Trial of the Grasses. Canonically, she and Lambert leave together, so there is a good possibility that this is how the Linx School is formed.
And lambert was homies with a cat witcher maybe thats how he got the name lynx

It is a shame that the witcher 3 haven't got a decent ending it deserved, i mean there's plenty loose end in my opinion specially the death of the prince of ofieri in the sewer. That incident could lead to a new map and new expansion pack with new possibilities, but CDPR seems too afraid to squeeze the maximum potential of the witcher 3

CDPR teased in December that Geralt will return in this new trilogy. I, for one, am grateful for that. No mention if he will be the protagonist, but c’mon. His presence alone takes center stage when he’s in a scene.
I always thought Beuclair was a terrible way for Geralt’s story to end. No Witcher has ever died in his own bed.
I'd like the School of the Lynx to be a successor to the Wolf. Maybe a school that takes inspiration from the other schools too.
I'd be ok with any setting as long as it has a fixed & established protagonist like geralt. Imagine how much less interesting witcher 3 would be without geralt. I don't want another "create your own character" scenario like cyberpunk and skyrim.
Would love a open world map with different stories on different nations I mean current gen PCs and consoles can definitely handle something like that.

So I know that Geralts story is supposed to be over, but it just cant be, it just cant be lol. And I know you guys are busy with cyberpunk, but for a couple of weeks Ive been daydreaming about a new DLC, and I thought I might share it. Im no writer but here it is. So obviously it starts with the narrator talking about the things Geralt has been doing for the past couple of years in retirement. Then the cinematic opens at Corvo Bianco, where a full on battle is waging in the fields by the vineyard. Geralt is fighting dozens of enemies, progessively getting more and more tired. As the last enemy falls, Geralt falls to his knees, he looks around at the dead enemies, his gaze falls to the ground. In the distance we hear the Majordomo "lunch is ready sir", Geralt looks up to a bright and hot midday afternoon. Instead of bodies lying around, its weeds, lots of weeds. He grabs a rag and cleans the green goo off of his sword and walks to the house. They eat lunch on the porch, play some gwent, and drink some white wolf as the hours pass by. As the sun starts to set beautifully over the estate, Majordomo says "This is a nice life" Geralt responds "Of course it is, you keep beating me!"gesturing to the cards. Majordomo chuckles and takes a sip of wine. Geralt leans his head back, closing his eyes says "yeah it is a good life, a nice quiet life." He doses off and a dream sequence starts, hes hunting monsters, fighting bad men, saving damsels, relishing in the glory and excitement of the chase. He jerks awake to the sound of crickets in the darkness, hes alone, finishes his glass of wine, and mumbles "starting to feel too quiet". He walks into the house, softly closes the door and the screen fades. In the morning, he decides to make a trip into town, to get out of the house and to have a master blacksmith sharpen and clean his sword after the yardwork he did with it. He does this, and walking out of the shop over hears "Im done! I quit! I cant take it anymore!" Another responds "Well how will I get to skellige?" "I dont care! In fact I hope a centipede gets you right here in toussaint!" Geralt is intrigued and goes to talk to the guy being abandoned. He ends up accepting a job offer to escort the man to skellige. Upon arrival, he hangs around for a little bit to visit with old friends. He keeps coming upon various mysterious contracts. People and animals keep disappearing in the mountains. Sheep and cows taken from the fields, travelers and farmers taken from the path, but all leaving no evidence behind. Even cyclops's are being driven into the town causing havoc. He starts to believe its all connected to some flying beast, but what could it be to be causing such problems. He investigates and investigates, sets traps, waits and waits, but nothing works. Finally on a very stormy night, hes asleep under a tree, waiting for his decoy livestock to attract something. Something shakes the ground and awakes him, thru the thick rain, and wind, and clouds, he cannot see anything. He draws his silver sword and takes a knee, waiting for something to appear. He thinks he hears....a low grumbling...laugh? And then a MASSIVE stream of fire erupts, engulfing the live cattle and wooden and spiked decoys alike. Above the sound of the storm he hears the rushing of large wings and then nothing. "A dragon? Couldnt be." Through more events and investigating we learn that a young mage had fallen in love with the daughter of a disciple of lebioda. Clearly this would not be approved in the family. A bunch of drama goes down, maybe the daughter ends up dying? And then the mage turns himself into a giant dragon to wreak havoc on the area. Of course in true CDPR fashion, there would be multiple possible outcomes of the story. So I know youre probably rolling your eyes right now haha, I know the likelihood of this being a DLC is low, but I just had to share it, get it off my chest you know? Thanks for all that you guys do! And thanks for reading this, I appreciate it. Now off to see if Im going to win those gwent decks on ebay! Oh and P.S. if you guys came out with a classic console styled gwent for android, I would most definitely pay for it. $10 or more would be well worth it! 😘😘

Been trying to spread the message but wherever it’s set we will see a return to gaunter o dimm id guess the trilogy will leave up to game no3 as gaunter the final boss. There’s a shite ton of evidence in the Witcher 3 that says the devs are having him as a background character outside of hearts of stone were not meant to forget about him. There’s a reference to him by the dwarves in white orchard at the end of the game, blood and wine he cursed the spotted wight, also he isn’t in the books he is a new character of cd project red, I’d bet my life savings gaunter will play a role in the new trilogy

The company is too big to not follow the latest trends and they seem very Americanized. I don't think they can do anything better than W3, but it won't be as bad as Ubisoft games.
@@aurelien5747 I should clarify, I know in the Witcher, lore there are other continents of humans that doesn’t look white. My thing is, don’t have a mix group of people and not explain it. Every time I watch the Netflix Witcher it sticks out like a sore thumb to me. At least Game of Thrones when there is a minority character. They explain quite well. That’s all I ask.

We had arabs in the game who are from Ofeir and afcore Elfs, Gnomes and Dwarfs.
And that is it really, medieval europe didnt have contacts whit black africans or indians.
We coud see asians since the Empire of Nilfguard falls sgortly afther it counquers the north to a Mongol invasion.
Everyone knows the witcher world is full of disgruntled, poor and very drunk white people doing shady things for pompous nobility while the horny heroic white people having vanilla sex every 5 seconds save the day. It's not that they even need to explain it honestly, I don't give a shit if people call it racism but that's culture, it's inspired by real history, and it's an aesthetic that doesn't need to be emulated by other cultures who had their own history and aesthetics. It's like corporations are saying if you're born white your identity is wrong. They can suck it till the day I die: my ancestors had the best folklore and a solid taste in art, and I love fucking around in these fictional universes they inspired portraying them.
I really want it to be a prequel when all the schools were active and the trial of the grasses was in full swing.

I'd think if it does take place in Kovir, roughly a short while after the Witcher 3, then there should be an effort to show that Kovir is beginning to enter the industrial revolution. Kovir is the richest northern kingdom with its economy based on industry and finance. It would be a huge breath of fresh air, seeing Kovir as more modern and tech advanced than the late medieval setting we are all used to. We can also have access to new toys such as early firearms and experimental gadgets.
Is there anyone else worried about the fact that they announced a trilogy of games (this doesn’t happen often or at all). This worries me because it could mean that the open world they make in the first game is not as massive a reach as The Witcher 3 and they might be trying to tell us to be patient until the 3rd game in the trilogy to get the biggest world possible.
I just hope they go all out for each of their games instead of trying to give us pieces of a trilogy. I have such high expectations for the Witcher game after The Witcher 3.
I hope so too. It would be nice to have a cohesive story across 3 games (the Witcher 3 dropping Iorveth and many other characters was annoying but the game was so great it's hard to complain) but if the quality suffers overall that would be frustrating. Let's wait and see!

The change to Unreal Engine 5 which is an entirely different engine, has me kinda worried ngl.
Personally, the only reason I would still upgrade to a new PC is when the Witcher 4 is released (assuming it's at least as good as W3).

I hope The Witcher 4 is about Ciri, who is founding the School of the Lynx to bring Witchers back, and she bounces to all the corners of The Continent. She can teleport after all.
In my personal opinion, I do not expect that we will play as ciri because the story of The Witcher, I mean the game, in all its parts, revolves around Gerald and his adventures in this open world and developing himself in order to be stronger. It would not be logical or enjoyable for us to play as ciri in this open world in the fourth part of the series. I expect that The fourth part will be about the end of Gerald's story, entitled

@@user-wr8eh5to6jAgreed. It would be a pretty foul bait and switch to have us invested so deeply into the incredibly beautiful and deep life of Geralt of Rivia only to suspend it for Ciri. I mean don't get me wrong, they absolutely killed it with their world design and lore and it could certainly support spin offs, and the witcher franchise has already over achieved in what they've created, but let's be real, if it's not broken don't fix it, I liked Geralts story and games so much that I'd be pretty worried about them not being able to recreate that magic in a new character

Since we're off to explore a new witcher school, which (from what I've heard slipped off the tongue of somene in CDPR) was founded by Keira and Lambert, I'm all for creating our own witcher. Maybe even seeing older, Vesemir-age Lambert as a grand master of our school. CDPR proved they are able to create personal story for a new character made by the player in CP77, so I'm excited by the possibility of them polishing that even more.
Imagine just finishing up your witcher trials, going on the path for the first time. They could implement seasons too, so that you'd be able to get back to the school in winter, like, 3 times during the game, as you slowly gain experience, scars and fame. It's just my childish dream, but hey - although it wasn't perfect - I got my much needed Harry Potter massive game last year.
I just want to be apart of a functioning witcher school. Not to just stumble through old ruins and texts that tell us how the schools use to be when they had lots of witchers and mages living in the castles, but to actually have a thriving school. See first hand the witcher trails and how it's performed on the children and confronting that morality first hand.

We already know that won't be the case. It'll either be a new protagonist or a create your own witcher. There's also a slight chance it's geralt again but that's unlikely.

When did they confirm the School of the Lynx? I thought it was still a rumour. Regardless I've been iffy about a new school because the others still haven't been explored but if it's set post Witcher 3, maybe at the turn of the century I'd be more accepting i think. Running with the consequences for the 2nd Conjunction of the Spheres.
Also a second continent is discovered is discovered in the early 14th century so that could be a cool DLC or something. Maybe a venture to the Far North too

A melding of all the school styles to give the players full freedom if we aren't playing as a previously seen character. Interested to see what they do.
@@tomjones8859 Player original character is the last thing I'd like to see in a witcher game. Witcher franchize stands on it's characters and how complex and intresting they are. Protagonists createf by players are usually bland, often speakless and boring. The exeption is V from Cyberpunk because that character had an actual backstory and some kind of personality even though the player is the one choosimg it. I hope for the New character as a protagonist or maybe some other witcher like Eskel or even Ciri would be nice.
@@olafmikoaj3121 I'd definitely like to play as Eskel. He's almost on-par with Geralt when it comes to swordsmanship and plenty of room to be fleshed out. While I'd like to play as Ciri I'd prefer for that to be in a spin off. Ciri can't cast signs or drink potions so the core gameplay would be different for her.
@@tomjones8859 With Ciri they would have to make a new combat elementy because she can't drink witcher potions and cast signs. But she has her time and space Powers and normal magic. Maybe they can make her combine witcher combat with actual magic. That would be kinda cool.

I’m not really on board with a sequel to the Witcher 3.
Now a prequel trilogy during the golden age of the Witcher schools, I’d be more on board with that. Even prequels also present their own sets of challenges.
Also: Learn from failure that is suicide squad kill the justice league. Entertainment in general nowadays has a problem when it comes to respecting legacy characters.

I hope its not set in Zerrikania, I doubt Western writers will take the leap to portray a middle eastern themed society in an interesting way. It would be far too sanitized. The Zerrikanian merchant in Witcher 3 was fine but I wouldn't like the whole region to get his demeanor.
Hell, I even doubt that Warhammer Fantasy would do Araby justice if they ever try it and that goes double for CDProjekt Red with Zerrikania.

What will make The Witcher 4 awesome!
1: Character Creation, rather than having an already established character like Geralt, players should have the option to create their character from scratch and have a selection of what school they want their character to be from, such as the School of the wolf, Griffin, the cat/lynx and so on, maybe even introduce a new school that no one has heard or encountered before.
2: Keep the REDengine, I like this engine and it makes the Witcher 3 look good and The Witcher 4 should be built up on the same engine, but with more improvements where The Witcher 3 left off. Plus some added new improvements and features to the game.
3: Bring back monsters from previous games and introduce monsters we haven't seen yet, the kind from the books that are not in the games.
4: Companions, like a fellow Witcher or even a mage of the player's choice, plus the player's character can have a relationship if they want to.
5: Finally, involving the character creation feature I mentioned, let players decide if they want to be Witchers or mages and have let them decide if they want to be something other than human, like being a non human like elves or dworves, this sort of feature could be fun to experiment with for those who love Character Creations.
