Paul, thank you so much for the idea and exercises. I'm still building my playground in the country garden. I have a lot of my own hand-made sports equipment there, now I will make the equipment that you demonstrate in this video!

I saw on your app that you have some progression videos for certain things but do you have, or are you planning on making, a progression guide for someone completely new and out of shape? Would like to get into calisthenics but coming from a desk job and not working out for over a decade it's hard for me to know what is best for me to start out with and the frequency of workouts and sets to progress quickly and efficiently.
I started BJJ a while back and had to stop for about a year because I started experiencing really sharp stabbing pains between my shoulder blades, which was almost unbearable when someone would put their weight on top of me. It really highlighted that my back is weak and that I need to correct that soon. I'm almost 40 and now is the best time to get back into shape before it just get more difficult the older I get.

      Start with:
2x times a week for about 30 to 60 Minutes . Warmup first, Pushups, Pullups, Australienpullups, Dips and a leg excersise. About 3 sets each.
Get better. Control, form and reps. That takes a lot of time!
      Have fun. Thats all.
Can work for the next years.
Don't overthink. It is just sport. More comes with experience and dedication.

For the pain you need a doctor.
Don't train the movement, when you feel pain.

Pretty similar situation here. Started 2 years ago, at 45, overweight, not moved a limb for ages, office job, 198cm tall, therefore lots of deficits and related pain (mainly neck and shoulders)
Started with lots of cardio type body weight exercises (jumping Jack, Burpee, squats, push up, plank walk,...) in different variations. Check out "all blanc TV" here on YT for ideas. had to really get creative to make the standard exercises easier since it was all too much at the beginning.
After that did classical weight/resistance training for a while and now I am at a point where I can say that I'm pretty much at the beginner level of the calisthenics journey.
Still overwhelmed by most stunts people on YT show off and in urgent need for lighter progressions - and progressions in between: e.g. the exercises in this video are too far apart. I can do a few push ups but they are not easy. Dips are too hard. Do I better train elevated push ups? Banded dips? Do I just try to increase volume on regular push ups (lower rep count, higher set count). All of the above? None? And that's just one exercise path of many that all are interesting have to be prioritized...

It is very good that you take care of your health. On my channel I upload just such short videos that are useful for office workers and the AT sector. I'm not a professional like Paul and I'm learning a lot from him, but I'm 60 years old and have a lot of experience staying young and healthy at this age. Wish you luck!

Which brand are your P Bars and how much?

They are the lebert parallel bars. Expensive but very high quality and no wobbles. I tried them at my expensive gym and bought my own as a result.
