Nevertheless, the U.S. Army declares the danger past, and American soldiers arrive to restore order and begin reconstruction. Refugees return to British soil, but one of them carries a deadly secret: The virus is not gone and is even more dangerous than before.

Who ever was running the district was at fault. Why was a civilian able to just walk to a restricted area, and interact with an infected individual? Where were all the checkpoints, guarded doors, locked doors? Why were all civilians forced into an unsecured basement without any protection? Why didn't they have a lockdown procedure, why were the infected able to run riot? Why weren't there any reinforced doors and windows?
It would make sense that the district was divided into sections, with checkpoints inbetween. The research facility should be limited access, with guards, fences, gates, checkpoints, locked doors and reinforced doors, walls and windows. If an outbreak happens, it wouldn't spread, or at least would be slowed down. Every inhabited apartment building should have their own protective measures. Have every building go into lockdown, nobody enters or leaves. If an infection starts spreading in one building, it is contained. Every apartment should be reinforced and should have emergency rations.
Why was district one in a place where securing it was so difficult? Why not put it somewhere isolated, easy to guard, anyone trying to enter or leave without permission would be seen right away.
Why wasn't the tunnel between France and Britain sealed? The virus was contained in an island, the only exits were boats, planes, swimming and the tunnel. Zombies cannot swim or use boats and planes, so the tunnel was the only weak point in preventing the virus from spreading out of the island.

If you're a pilot your situation is kind of ruined beyond all repair, i mean fuel is a thing you can find but there is plot, zombie movie plot will aim against you to make your survival impossible despite your attempts and abilities and skills, you're sadly not going to make it in most cases because drama seeking of zombie movie.

With and without being able to contact the higher ups?

Agreed. No quarantine zone. The soldiers are letting civilians in without fully cleaning or clearing the nearby region or daily patrols. The kids are allowed out of the un barricaded area where there would naturally or should naturally be guard posts and entrance checkpoints. The fact that the kids started the entire thing - and the fact they implied they spread it to france too
No, it's dumber than that. Mid movie you see the zombies run into a tunnel. That is the tunnel that runs under the English Channel. The French didn't seal their end of the tunnel or put a military installation to prevent the outbreak from getting through. Like two mounted machine guns and some fencing could have saved France.
@@Kevin7557 Thats not true at all, if that tunnel wasn't secured the virus would have spread into France much earlier during the initial outbreak. The reason why the virus spread to France was because Flynn flew the kids over the channel not knowing Andy was infected and his sister probably took a sip out of the same water bottle as him (or something similar), infecting her and therefore starting the cycle all over again.

@@SamFisher007 The Rage Virus spreads through bodily fluids, a single person in a remote area would not have triggered a full scale outbreak as the French, US, and likely an international coalition of forces would be on standby to reduce any area consumed by the virus to dust.
The virus reached France by people running into the tunnel and then infecting the major city on the other side. You are correct, that makes zero sense, but then again so does everything else in this movie. London would never be resettled because the virus would be in the sewers. The city would be fire bombed out of existence to cleanse the virus. Everything from that point on was one massive "that wouldn't happen" after another. Not one of these movies except maybe I am legend touched upon why these monsters are super strong - like what in the virus that makes their skin and bone super strong and resilient but ONLY when they attack doors and barricades and not when they are being beaten by a melee object 😅🤷🏼
Agreed. This trope annoys me too.
They can, actually. Getting infected means our human limitations are broken. Let's say we're a normal human, banging a metal door hurts us and we stop, that's our limit. Meanwhile, if you become a zombie, you get aggressive, reckless and relentless and don't care about getting hurt. We continue to bang the door even if our bones crack until we get what we want, you have no limit other than when you starve.

the military isn't the bad guy in the movie. Because lets say you're the general and there is another outbreak and hundreds of people start storming out of a building where the outbreak came from. You would have to decide between letting them go or killing random people to destroy the virus, I would choose option #2. Some need to be sacrificed in order for others to live.

Dom literally had the right mindset at the beginning of the movie. The survival mindset for a deadly infectious disease is to not get infected or die playing danger close with infected. I think the "immunity" here was the virus trying to self-preserve itself while maintaining infection which it expected an idiot human to come into infection range. It plays on animalistic instincts and won with the adaptation. The infected women herself was only harmless as long as the virus was contained and any bodily fluids were handled properly or sterilized, which would be wasted resources in a now limited community in a military lockdown. The irony is that this can actually be considered realistic situation in modern standards regardless of politics. A virus is meant to rapidly adapt unlike normal bacteria. It is not to be taken lightly by society.

It’s unlogical things like that that always make me hate outcomes of movies that could’ve been so easily prevented
this would legit be the WORST CASE situation indeed.... and beyond SCARY AF!!!!! like living through months of this.. would get tiring indeed
i think this one and the first are on of the most terrifying horror zombie movies ever made, they are just so scary.
They would have way more procedures in these kinds of outbreaks. I hate movie militaries.
Yaaa thats what happens when a writer needs to write military stuff ! The writer is a writer and has no real knowledge of true military logistics and operation methods ! Thus he goes to either guess work or cheap advisors that only advise on uniform and what not ! A pitty indeed !
@@eboranshard6220 Ye the writers should've dove deep into procedures and make things that could happen, happen. Like the military should not have missed all those shots from the apache and they could've gunned down all the infected easily.
Procedures are one thing, people willing to comply to them a whole other pair of boots.
Just look at the anti mask retards or people saying that there never was a virus in the first place.
You can have a bomb proof plan with countermeasures and what not but just a copule of kinda well organized idiots is enough to fuck it all up beyond recognition.
Edit: Not trying to defend the decisions in this movie, a chimp on LSD would've done better in this situation.
@@creampielover69 I'm anti mask. Doesn't make me retarded.
Plenty of research both ways.
But hey let's just generalize if it makes you feel smarter.
Tell me one thing.
In your researching into the feasibility of a standard mask to stop the virus itself, how well did the mask do?
I can tell you it's close to nil.
The virus also doesn't survive in direct sunlight to well either.
Locking people in doors seem counterintuitive to people's health in regards to this particular virus.
But hey I must be a retard because internet man doesn't agree with my research.
@@Kal-qn9rw don't bother arguing they're all braindead
Don is such a loser. I dont blame him for running for his life, after all don said we shouldnt let the boy in. And even though he left his wife she should have climbed out the window herself and run. He cant do everything for her or else shed die. However later on when he goes in to kiss his wife and infect her that made me mad. Literally killed the remenants of humans.
The lady that was looking her boyfriend was the one who let the zombie in.
@@panasit WSMB is referring to the young boy Don's wife let in, not the girlfriend who was being nosy looking outside.
At least the ones on that side of the Atlantic. America is zombie free in this situation.
One of the best intros in zombie movies. Super intense, great music
I love how when he said jaren the music stops
I feel pity for Alice. Her husband left her to die and now that she's rescued, she was brutally killed by his husband when he became infected cuz of the kiss. 😢😢
She was left to die because she made a stupid decision; it was on her. If she would have prioritized her own life over the life of some kid she doesn’t know, they maybe would have survived together without the whole infection part.
He let herself to die. She should not endangered her life for a stranger kid.
I say she got what she fucking deserved for choosing a stranger child over her husband.
She deserves no pity she was extremely stupid, for saving a stranger kind that was being chased by infected who was making alot of noise attracting them. Honestly the husband should have just hit her to stop her from doing stupid decisions.
These replies???? Seriously straddling the psychopathic fence
I still preferred 28 days later to this movie because this one just didn’t feel that scary due to it having more people which 28 days later made it seem like the Uk was abandoned
I preferred 28 weeks later as I love seeing the military getting overwhelmed by the infected and the napalm bombing scene. While 28 days later didn't interest me much till they met the remaing Uk army and they tried to leave the main character to die.
@@notimportant3255 yeah I did like the military scenes in 28 weeks later they were both good films
I find it funny how the sniper with perfect accuracy is literally Hawkeye from Marvel
Yup true it's him.
when watching both 28 days and weeks later it gave the creeps but so fascinating how they filmed it so good
Don was living his best life as a zombie. He was havin' some fun out there!
Now I'm starting to remember why I thought this movie was a pile of shit.
Dope movie I'm glad you did a recap
Too bad they didnt make a 3rd movie to this series, it was great!
I want the sequel to be a prequel titled "28 Hours Later" I want to see the mass panic of the people when the first infection is currently happening.
THIS RIGHT HERE! I would absolutely love that! Such a great idea!
And name it 28 Minutes Later.
@@darrenlai243628 minutes later would be nice to show the process of how 2 scientists developing a cure for anger control but end up making the Rage virus and 28 minutes is the time those activists whos become infected found the first victim after leaving the lab
It’s good to see the government actually being slightly competent in a movie I mean they have literally thousands of contingency plans and loads of reasources and the americas are isolated they would probably get it under control
one of the best intro on a horror and zombie sub-genre
When Don started gouging Alice’s eyes. God damn that shit fucks me up
Technically, it's the wife's fault. If she didn't insist on trying to save the little kid from the beginning of the movie, she most likely would have survived with her husband and ended up in District 9 preventing their kids from going out to see their old home causing all this.
Let's just say that the family as a whole are why everyone got fucked over
@@littlen8279 i agree, that family wasnot worth saving, cure or no, a whole district died. From the mother sacrificing the residents in the old house for a boy, to the kids running away with no consequences, knowing zombies are roaming, to the husband kissing his wife because he felt guilty and didnt want mom to tell the kids he left her. She chose a kid over her own life and the life of many others. Dumbest family ever😑
And i dont blame him for leaving her because in 2 seconds she had more care for a stranger than her own husband.👎
@@littlen8279 It started with the wife’s stupid decision.
@@littlen8279 well it started with the animal activists stupid decision but only worsened when the wife made her own stupid decision.
Not 'technically, Don IS the hero of the opening, and the wife is the main villain of the movie, joined by her minion Don, whom she used his love for her to infect and destroy.
Moral of the story: Never kiss your infected wife
also: Never leave the safe zone for "freedom" because it will only lead to disaster
This series needs a part 3
it's scary how quickly and aggressively they turned
You know. Everyone always asks: "Why did they have no one guarding Alice?" "Why does Don even HAVE access to that quarantine room?" "Why did they bus people in BEFORE every zombie was dead?" (Even though pre-existing zombies weren't the cause of the new outbreak) "Why did the kids even leave the city?" (Ignoring they're kids and also weren't present for the duration and were promised safety.) But no one ever asks "Where were all the displaced people even being held?" Like you're telling ALL the refugees found someplace in wherever they were displaced that just went "yeah sure we'll give you all the help you need!"
Europe's actually pretty good at dealing with refugees haha, and I also severely doubt that there were that many survivors from the outbreak unless every British dude can swim the channel
How come the infected mom didn't starve to death like all the other zombies?
she was eatint canned food and keeping count of the rations and days. She was scheduling and planning.
real question is how she was not killed by other infected yet her husband manage kill her
@@ericx6969 haha yes that is the better question you are right. Her husband attacked and never stopped. But when she was surrounded by 20 infected they bit her once and then let her go? Doesn't make any sense. The whole movie is one giant plothole after another
@@ziljin Maybe she also turned to a zombie initially so the zombies did not eat her.
Since she was older, her immunity must have taken some time to kick in?
As for the child, he already came in contact with the virus from his mother. So he had already built up some resistance, which is why he did not turn to a zombie at all.
@@daruiraikage the son also has the same eye condition as the mom
Don was like NOT ME,,, NOT TODAY!!! LMFAO😂😂😂
They really had the worst safe zone for those people. It was so unsecure and unsafe. Then completely plunged in darkness. Literally led those civilians to their slaughter.
Alice finds out she's immune to the virus but unfortunately not to stupidity.
We know now from whom the siblings inherit their stupidity, from their Dad😒🙄
And their mom lol she got herself infected in the first place
The sniper could have easily fired a warning shot next to the kids as they broke out the safe zone, but judging by their decision making they probably would have started flopping on the ground like fish
Watched the first movie ages ago, so don't remember where it took place, but hearing that military brings over saved Brits makes me wonder if Shaun and Liz are among them. XD
Movie is great , premise is Alr but rule #1 don’t worry bout yo bf in a zombie outbreak
