LMAO! DJ JAZZY SPIGUYVER! That was fresh and dope! You need to start rapping all your videos!
Haha! Totally out of character for me to do something like that, but I just felt I needed to!
OMG, love the rap song. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud a bit when it first came on. I guess I gave myself away that I am watching CZcams videos at work during lunch.
That's funny!
Looks like a cool ass trail..the Midwest delivers again.
Yup, great location!
Just saw Restless Outdoors video and I definitely missed this gem. Now I'm going to watch the whole video.
LOL, I thought this one died a long time ago!
@@SpiguyverBackpacking1 it has been given a new life!
Not sure it needed that! LOL
@@SpiguyverBackpacking1 I have to disagree lol
Me and a few friends just camped about 2 miles south of where you did, and had ATVs driving through our camp ALL NIGHT. I feel your pain there buddy....
Yeah, that has been the experience most have talked about from that area. Last time we were out there we stopped earlier than that, along the river and it was perfect, no ATVs!
The large holes is probably the work of a great bird....the piloted woodpecker.....crow size and sound like someone is working a jack hammer on a tree...great bird and you can usually get pretty close to observe...and they typically work down low like you saw....also, go to a birding website were they have recorded the calls ...very loud and distinct call...
Awesome! Thanks!
Ooops....I did not review the post....here is what probably made the holes you described....BTW: the link has the sounds that this wonderful bird makes and when you hear one, be sure and take the time to view....they are pretty common in Ark....www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Pileated_Woodpecker/id
Love the Butterfield Hiking Trail! My buddies and I just hiked it this past May. Would love to go back after the leaves have fallen.
It was a great trail, I'm going to be hitting some others in AR pretty soon.
The North Sylamore trail is another good one down there. My buddies and I are also section hiking the OHT.
Those Cliffs were sick!!! Nice camp spot also.
I was pretty impressed by them. If you do the loop counter clockwise, that camp along the cliffs would be at mile 10, so it would be a great spot!
Glad you made it to Butterfield. Love that whole OHT area. Man those fall leaves! Too bad the rowdy bunch showed up. Really liked your chair, might be something on my test gear list soon. Enjoyed the video!!
Thanks! Yeah, the colors on the video don't do it justice, and you can't really see what the views from the overlooks really showed. Sometimes you've just gotta be there! Thanks for checking out the video!
Very entertaining
Arcana73 Thank you!
Great vid as usual!! Those rock chairs and fire pits look like the campsite on the foothills trail right before you get to the top of sassafras !!
Thanks. I didn't make it that far on the Foothills trail, we jumped off right before heading up Sassafras.
Very good fall trip!! The Ozark's has been on our future trip list for some time. I've met a few at campfires and sometimes it's nice to hang around with other backpackers. This weekend I was planning on a trip to the Porcupine Mountains, MI in our area. They already have a foot of snow in the higher elevations with another foot of lake effect snow coming tomorrow. I'm waiting to hear back from the park to see if the roads will be open. Cool rap song!!
Thanks! Wow, that's a lot of snow already! Good time to test some cold weather gear though.
Thanks for sharing.
Arkansas has some beautiful places for sure.
I remember doing the Talimena Parkway a few years ago and being totally surprised.
Sorry your family wasnt along for the sharing of the beauty.
I have some other trips planned that will take me back into Arkansas. Thanks for watching!
I did that trail back in January. Had Junction camp all to myself, both creeks were flowing.
Hike to camp was sunny and low 60's. 2:00 am thunderstorm rushed in. Broke camp about 6 and hiked out in low 30's and heavy rain. But still had a great time!
No ATV's during your visit? Great spot!
Nothing but silence! Yes great spot.
Some gorgeous spots on that trail! Sorry you didn't get much sleep. Sometimes I have that happen to me as well, but I never had an ATV come through camp!! Thanks for the share!!
You're welcome, and thanks for watching!
Looks like a cool place!!!
Yeah it really was!
Great video of one of my favorite trails! The river section towards the end of your video is covered with redbud and dogwood trees and is absolutely gorgeous in the spring when they're blooming! My only complaint is the same one you had -- the ATV-ers! They've come screaming through my campsite too at 1am. According to the park ranger I spoke with, they're technically banned from the national forest (no motorized vehicles allowed); but there's no practical way for them to enforce it. Great job on all of your videos.
It's a great trail, too bad they can't keep the ATVs out of there, it really does suck when they come tearing through the camp area at 1am! Thanks!
Hey Mark I really enjoyed that trek I'm liking the A.T Ultra-light to lots of people asking what it is... THE RAPPING was spot on good PITCH N ROLL true woods poetry ...hope yous are united soon...........regards Dave
Thanks, and glad you're liking the pack!
Great Video... Now Im super bummed I didn't go Hiking with Kris that weekend!!!
You should have gone, it was a great weekend, and lots of great colors!
Great video, and it was nice hanging out and chatting with you. If you ever need a trail partner hit me up!
You too Kris! Thanks for sharing your campfire with me!
You should check out the Ozark Highlands Trail, The Buffalo River Trail, and the Ouachita Trail. Really anywhere around the Buffalo River. I live in Northwest Arkansas and have done several trips on most of the trails.
eric fiorello All of those are on my list!
Spiguyver Backpacking let me know if you want a tag along. I usually start hiking just after deer season ends and stop about the end of March and start floating.
I would love to set up a car drop/shuttle for the OT.
Great looking trail. Not to far from me in Tennessee. May have to check it out.
Yeah, it's pretty nice, not a huge amount of distance, and I would recommend not camping in one of the established areas.
Super hike, just a shame rude people had to disturb your night. I really enjoy your hiking vids.
Thanks! It happens, overall it was a great trip though!
at 28:50 was that a whitetail deer that came in behind you? (right side of video frame in between the two trees). Nice video, looks like a cool place. I thought you might have lived in SC from a video I watched of yours recently, guess you moved though. I live in SC. Want to hit the Foothills Trail in the future after seeing your video.
I'm going to have to go check, not sure I noticed it. The Foothills Trail is pretty awesome as well!
That was another hiker.
Second!
Thanks!
Yay! What camera are you using?
Stephen Escallier GoPro Hero 5 Black and Hero 3+Silver. Did you watch the whole thing?
Spiguyver Backpacking 4 minutes in! Watching on my big TV! It's almost like we are on similar wavelengths and both have a bum foot. haha
Going to have to come up with your rap name before the hang this weekend
Right, haha! This weekend is going to be good!
How were the bugs on this trip.
Great Video.
Not bad, some small bugs and a couple mosquitoes, but no ticks!
Thanks!
