    3. Catching 2012 WS
    4. Catching 2014 WS

    @jaybingham3711 Před 5 lety +3

    A big oversight. You should have packaged the 3 no-hitters he's caught as the No. 1 item. He'll probably have 5 before he's done...meaning he'll hold the record by himself. A no-hitter is as much a factor of the catcher as it is the pitcher. This tells you how great of catcher he really is.

  • @HKim0072

    It's hard to evaluate a catcher since the most important part is the relationship with the pitchers and game calling. Posey has always called a good game and managed pitchers well.
    Edit: And offensively for his position, obviously he's been great. I'm sure there some position WAR evaluation or some other stat I don't fully understand that explains positional offensive comparisons.

    I was in Milwaukee for my older son's graduation from Prep School and the Giants were in town playing the Brewers that weekend. I watched Buster Posey hit the hardest home run I have ever seen in person off the centerfield black wall drop off that hangs above the centerfield fence. He hit it so hard it hit off that backdrop facing about 3/4 of the way up. We were all sitting in the left field bleachers that night and everyone could hear it hit off that face of that overhang backdrop. That also happened to be the night that Melke Cabrerra threw out Aoki at the plate on a tag play from third base. Best throw I have ever seen professionally in person. Then of course the Melkman got a suspension for using banned substances. MORON.

IF you are that afraid of getting hurt, play 3rd base. No, line drives. 2nd? Nah, no arm. Short? Too many slides. 1st? Achilles damage possible. RIght? I think you get the point.

    What people dont like about Posey and what people like Posey kinda interject tbh. Posey is a catcher, ala Pizza, hit me 40 dingers.. Pizza was only a god catcher for min 5 years. but still hit, yes. Posey is still a bettter catcher in year 10+ coming. and when health still can hit for average. I think what writers and anaylist got wrong about posey, what they viewed him as a poser threat. and just me, i was there too read them :) but the did, when u get to see the BBonds gone hit a homer everday, ur gonna want to stretch the new prospec out a bit, to fil ur own agendy, which they did. Posey was the best bat the ball contact player if seen in a long time, tony gwyn style, he would just always put the bat of the ball, make a hit, foul. Posey was never a power hitter, the Giants front office, and reporters made him out to be. cause they needed someone to take the relive of the bonds situation at that time. Posey is healthy rn. ull see him hit some balls, like he did before. calling it, never underestimate the goat. hes healthy, and ready to eat, bet.
