- 2010 NISSAN XTERRA wheel bearing rear axle seal install
The HF Press was a good deal used it to press the bearing on no problem, I did not show us removing the axle or pressing the new bearing on the axle, due to there are many videos that show that, I could not find any info showing the axle bearing race it self being installed, except for one guy using a sledge hammer beating the shit out of a new bearing to show people how to drive it in.
My way may not be the best way but I have done countless bearings using this method, never destroyed a new bearing doing so and never had any issues with any new bearings or seals going bad with this method.
Why remove the race and install it separately? Everyone I know just puts the axle assembly in the tube, race and all.
The newly assembled axles (new bearings & seals) on my 2011 Pro 4X would not slide right in, regardless of how much finesse or force I applied. I had to do exactly as you showed in the video, or else the axle would not have slid in. Thank you!
Thank you for this video. This was the missing bit of info that I needed to fix my truck.
exactly what I needed to know thanks it was very helful
I bet this will work for my 2003. Thanks.
You make this look easy
Hey. I have a 2010 xterra 4X4 automatic.. and i have 2 new rear hubs. Not the entire axle . Will this be just like the fronts ? 4 bolts behind ? The fronts where easy to do and now i got a rattling sound when i let off the gas. I thought it was my driveshaft untill i seen a video with the same sound and it was the rear wheel bearing..
Great vid, it was super helpful. Do you know the part numbers for the bearing and seal?
I'm about to do my 2005 nissan xterra rear bearings, seal and I have not taken it apart yet but if I can't take out the old raise can I do this? Just take off the raise off the new bearing and it should work right?
Interesting, thanks for sharing this video. Mine is 2013 pro4x, looks all the same as yours. The difference is that i can slide the old races in and out of the housing by hand. Hmm?
Thanks for the helpful video. How hard was the race to get out of the axle tube?
Sorry for the slow reply Corwin, I used a slide hammer to remove the races, drivers side race came right out no problem, the pass side was a bit tricky, took a little more work but nothing major ... a trick I used on the race if needed you can glove up and run some dry ice around the race for several minutes it will shrink up the race as it freezes then should fall right out.
Did you have to use a slide hammer or anything to remove it? I have an 05 Frontier with the m226 rear and need to do this
This is my brothers Xterra he had it apart already, but but yes he had used a slide hammer with the hub attachment that bolted to the wheel studs.
You didn't show how to R&R the bearing and seal...
My 09 is different than this.?
Is this the C200k rear end?
Rear end is M226 off road, 3.36 gear ratio... Axle seal replacement process should be the same ... this Xterra is the off road model if that makes a difference or helps any..
@@rokmoto67 How did you pull that axle shaft out after loosening the four bolts? Mine seems seized on there!
@@Dennywayne23 you need a slide hammer
good video but you keep repeating what you said. peace
Put your race in the freezer and it will go in easier.
It stays fresh longer too. But yes, cold shrinks it a bit
Alcohol and dry ice works even better.
