When Kamen Rider Shinobi's Rider Time Special was first announced, it coincided with an announcement for another Special, with more details to be revealed soon. Once Ryuki made a cameo in Zi-O, this special was revealed to be an extended tribute for Kamen Rider Ryuki that would feature the return of the Rider War between the 13 Mirror Riders. Was this special really that necessary? Was it even good? Let's find out in my review of Rider Time: Kamen Rider Ryuki.

Fun fact: Most likely the reason why Abyss replaces Femme is because Femme's original actress was pregnant during filming, along with the fact that it's gonna be another disposable Female Rider death if Femme showed up in RT Ryuki.

I think the guys who made the special didn't want the audience to see a female character die.

I'll explain: Woz said that Another Ryuga is unbeatable, even with the Ryuki Ridewatch. So Zi-O 2 is needed, because its connected to The Mirror World. Another Watches made by the Time Jackers, and Shiro was unwillingly revived. All of Another Riders, sans Ryuga, still needed to be defeated by the respective Ridewatches. The reason Ryuki and Knight Ridewatches were materializrd its because Geiz looks like Ren. Its a meme, don't question it.
I’m pretty sure the ridewatches were created was because Shinji is there, but also because he also had Ren’s advent monster which is what creates the Ryuki ridewatches.
The original Zolda died both in the TV and movies. His friend/employee knew he was Zolda and Zolda gave the rider deck to that employee to fight for him. So yeah

I think the reason this special was made in zi-o was to give ryuki season it's proper ending as the original ryuki season had multiple endings that fans could believe. So toei wanted to end it in a final way of settling things without any alternatives. But then zi-o's ending happened which makes things more confusing. Thanks toei
They did it to bring back Shinji Kido/do him justice along with his counterpart and commemorate the Ryuki series since it was the start of the Rider War (which would eventually lead to the War among riders in Decade) as well. Not to mention, Another Ryuki.
Also to bring closure to what defined the Heisei Era. Kuuga May have gave a rebirth to riders, but it was Ryuki that defined the riders moving forward. So this tribute means more than just its own series.

Goro being Zolda in Rider Time Ryuki makes sense, since Shuichi was dying of an terminal illness throughout Ryuki which takes place from 2002 to 2003, which means he would have been dead for a long time by the time of Zi-O.

I might have some explanation to all of this. It's possible that Shiro wasn't responsible for the Mirror world being brought back. It could be due to the Time Jackers since Another Ryuki exists. And they brought back Shiro for him to recreate the mirror world for Sougo to get the Ryuki ridewatch as a step closer to Oma day. Since Swartz all along wanted Sougo to gain the power of every rider to become king by stealing the power of Oma Zi-O. Plus like Yui, the girl who is dying, has a mirror version of herself so she brought everyone in order to see who is able to fight Another Ryuki. And the motive for Another Ryuki is almost like Another Fourze/Another Faiz the lives of others are so he could restore his loved one. And as for Ryuga, technically Ryuga and Ryuki are the same person so therefore both won. And the reason why the Ryuki ridewatch could be no match for Another Ryuga is because Ryuga came from the mirror world and that's where Another Ryuga was first created. The Ryuki ridewatch was created in the original world. While the Zi-O ll ridewatches consists of both the mirror world and the original world. Thus having enough power to defeat Another Ryuga. And that is my theory for everything in Zi-O involving Ryuki.
I always thought the reason for Another Ryuga's invincibility was that fact that Mirror Shinji was Ryuga, so they couldn't get the rider powers from him to make a ridewatch. Even if they went back in time to the "episode final" timeline, I doubt Ryuga would have given them the power.

Disappointed of no Geiz Knight Armor. Seems any Secondary Ridewatch Geiz gets outside of Genm's is used merely for Finish Time. Then again the cost and material for the armor pieces are a considerate factor.

i thought this was kinda unnecessary, it was nice to see some of the original cast back but i liked the original ending of Ryuki where Ren wins and Odin reverses time so all the riders come back and even though Shinji dies he eventually succeeded in stopping the rider war. So i prefer that ending over this one.

Ryuki got this special because he's a fan favorite. Don't believe me count the amount of times Decade turns into him....that's not real evidence but is a fan favorite I blame Dragon Knight.......and Decade because we must blame him for everything we can

From my understanding this takes place before Ryuga arc in ZI-O and also the mirrorworld was reopened because of Another Ryuki.

Rider Time Ryuki is just an excuse to get half of the original cast members of Kamen Rider Ryuki to come back for some TV reunion after 17 years since their show ended. Granted that Kamen Rider Ryuki premiered in 2002, so it's understandable. But, to be honest..it's just an unnecessary reunion special in my opinion.

I have a theory that it takes place after they first met another Ryuga which is why Zi-O didn't use Zi-O 2
That's what I was thinking. It would also make sense because they still wouldn't be able to use the Ryuki Watch because Ryuga is a different Rider
That's been confirmed in the last episode of Rider Time: Ryuki. Sougo comments on Shinji appearing since he last saw him in the previous episodes.

The Girlfriend of Another Ryuki didn’t have Mirror world powers , Kanzaki Shiro Used her Image , and tried to use Another Ryuki to Revive his sister , Yui , because she died again.
He was afraid that Zi-O and Geiz would defeat Another Ryuki , so he restarted The Rider War.
But Another Ryuki counted as part of the Rider war , so Shinji gave his place to Sougo , as the Ryuki Ridewatch.
And the Soul Of Ren gave Geiz the Knight Ridewatch.
So they Defeated Another Ryuki , And the Ridewatches Both Count And Don’t Count as Riders in the Rider War , meaning that Odin both Won , And needed to defeat Zi-O and Geiz , to fully win the Rider war.
But Zi-O And Geiz Beat him , Destroying the Odin Deck , so Shinji Won.
But he needs to hold his Ridewatch to gain the Wish.
I adore Ryuki so I’m biased but I didn’t really enjoy the special. It just feels out of place to me.

Since Rider Time: Ryuki came out around the same time as the finale of Knight Squad, I made an edit using that first fight in the special, some OP footage from Knight Squad, and the Dragon Knight Theme
I guess KR Gai’s name here took on a whole new meaning in this special….. :P
The reason KR Abyss is here is that at that time, they couldn’t get KR Femme’s actress, Natsuki Kato, as she was pregnant with her 2nd child.
Then again, now that I think about it, if they were able to replace the other Riders, sans Ryuki, Knight and Ouja, with new actors, why didn’t they get another actress for Femme as well? Just me thinking that it is most likely producer Shirakura’s sexism at work again…… (but now that I think about it again, I might have also blamed Shirakura for being sexist again should Femme have have nonchalant as well. But seriously, though, female Riders who are part of a KR series Shirakura produces don’t get that much of a good treatment at all because he tends to equate them with the fate of Tackle in KR Stronger)
