How wonderful that you got to go to such a fabulous place for a fantastic experience with so many like-minded folks! I have not painted in such a long time, Steve, but I am determined to get back to it. I had a rough few months healthwise, but I am getting better, I hope. I plan to participate in World Watercolor Month in July. I have done so since 2016, and this year my 15 year old grandson is planning to participate with me. That will keep me going for sure. I am really excited about it. I can't wait for a tour of your new studio. I hope it will be exactly what you need. I am glad to be in mine again, and I am doing a cleanup getting ready for July! You are my inspiration and my teacher!

Loved this whole video, but my favorite part was that Justin Donaldson saw your studio tour and that you had some of his art up! I''ll bet he got a huge kick out of that! Glad you got to meet him and so many other like minded people. Hope you have an amazing time next year, too! Happy painting.
I am so happy for you Steve! That was a wonderful experience. It was fun to see your response to meeting some of the people you admire, but I was thinking about how many people there who were so excited to meet YOU! Thank you for sharing this with those of us who couldn't attend. I look forward to your upcoming videos that will come from what you learned and saw this weekend.
Your videos have gotten me hooked on watercolor and plein air painting. I had no clue there was a convention near Ashville. And so close to my home. Dang. You will love Lake Tahoe. I spent many weekends there camping, skiing, biking. Stayed at Circus Circus $4 a night and awesome breakfast bar before ski all day.

Thanks for that recap. I was the Associate Publisher of PleinAir and Fine Art Connoisseur for nearly two years. I had the opportunity to attend a couple of PACE events in Tucson and Santa Fe prior to that as the General Manager of Legacy Gallery. I see that you have a video discussion with Emily Olson... going to listen to that. She and others have inspired me to pick up the watercolor brush after a 35-year hiatus and begin painting. You might just see me there next year painting rather than on stage. Impressed with the work you showed. I will check out more!

Steve, I mentioned to my husband where the 2025 convention will be. He has been to tennis tournaments there. He said to tell you that your expenses probably will be higher there and just plan for it. But at the same time you will enjoy the trip.

I live 30 mi east of Reno. Our area encompasses scenery stretching from our big skyl deserts to breath taking alpine magnificence. It will seem like a another world apart from the beautiful Smokey Mountains.
Haha, I am in the Carson City area and grew up there. Maybe I'll bump into you next year!! Sounds like a great trip you had. Hopefully next year's will be just as fun. You'll be painting in my backyard!!
I have several friends that are tremendous plein-air artists! I am just not so good at getting about these days. I went to a local groups meeting here and I was stuck in the parking lot! I simply couldnât find a way out to go work! Yeah the wheelchair has rather wicked limitations. I have enjoyed getting out in the landscape there are quite a few trails that are wide and smooth enough for me, but some places are just not accessible. Thank you for sharing this sweet experience with us. It did look rather accessible, but you might be surprised at what can tip you up or over! Take care Steve and thanks!
Iâm sure itâs quite a challenge. There are some plein air painters who paint from their car. I have on rainy days. Just sayin! đ
What a nice surprise this video was. Honestly, I have never heard of PACE so this was a real insight for me. I'm surprised the gals at the sign in table had to ask your name; I thought everyone interested in art would recognize Steve Mitchell!
I enjoyed your "tour" including many of the nice people you met, and the vendor display area looks like a huge temptation. It looks like a wonderful gathering. If PACE ever comes to the upper midwest I would love to go. Thank you for taking us along :)
Your conservatory painting is my favorite; beautiful and captures the feeling of a sunny day.
Not that famous actually. And Iâm glad. But I would say I was recognized at the convention by around a dozen people.
In my mind, you could be giving a workshop within this Plein Air convention!

I wish there was a convention for all the CZcams watercolor artists I love. ⤠I would go for sure! Plein air is a struggle for me. I did two recently. But my eyes canât zoom in! lol
There's WatercolorLive each January. It's an online event, but it has opportunities to meet people and talk to the artists.

Yes Steve these events are a great way to connect with artists from all over the world. I have attended 6 of the Urban Sketchers Symposiums and teaching my fountain pens this year in Buenos Aires! Dinner with people is my favorite part! So glad you attended and connected!,
This was a fabulous recap. Thank you for taking time to bring us along! Iâve always dreamed of going to PACE. I even booked a trip to the one in Colorado but that got cancelled due to the pandemic. I am so tempted to go to the Reno one but Iâm not sure I can swing it. Anyways I loved watching your experience. Your sketches were wonderful!

@@dalecochran4418 the main thing is to determine which artists demos you want to see. Itâs impossible to see them all. Theyâre all on different stages. Watermedia being one of them. There are some relevant ones common to all artists regardless of media.
