Part 1-Replacing Crystal & Bezel insert on Seiko SKX173 Divers Watch

  • Taking a shot at replacing the scratched glass crystal on my Seiko SKX173 Watch with a new sapphire crystal and a new Ceramic bezel insert.
    The watch features Seiko's well proven 7S26 automatic (self-winding) movement with a day and date display, highly luminous Lumibrite treated hands and markers, a large screw down offset crown, uni-directional bezel, scratch resistant hardlex crystal and a solid etched, screw-down case back. The watch winds with the movement of your wrist.
    Watch Features:
    • Movement: Seiko 7S26 Automatic (self-winding)
    • Case: Brushed stainless steel, 43mm x 13mm thick.
    • Back: Engraved screw-in back
    • Crystal: Hardlex Mineral
    • Band: Stainless steel bracelet, deployant closure. 22mm.
    • Water Resistant: 200 meters
    • Warranty: 2 Years

    The rubber ball makes it really easy to open the backs. I don’t torque them down too tight either.

    Awesome video!!! I can't wait for the next part. :) BTW a swiss army knife and a small rubber mallet will pop the bezel off very, very easily.

    Double dome crystals always look awesome. Some people complain about the a/r blue throwing it off but, never bothered me. Stick with the ceramic black bezel. Keeps the classic look, and you know how durable the material will be.
    Like I said in the other video, this watch is begging for that Bond Nato strap😎

    Just a heads up I believe you're not supposed to use the cotton gloves once you open up the case back, they create too much dust so you did the right thing using rubber gloves. Thank you.
