In my Korvold deck, Rancor has been an all-star. One mana, comes back when I sac it, and it helps a huge Korvold punch through for the win when an opponent has creatures with flying. Fortitude offers similar re-usability, regeneration, and a sac outlet for extra Forests.

      Corey Roberson
Rancor, Temur battle rage and tainted strike are my favorite finishers in korvold

I have been building my korvold as token maker and sacrifice with semi graveyard & battlefield control with black praetor and erebos enchantment...but i still lack of defensive in this deck!

Great Video! A few suggestions I have:
-Liliana, Dreadhorde General, while not a budget card, has insane value when Korvold is on the table
-The Gitrog Monster is a fun little sac outlet
-Eliminate the Competition is a fantastic way to take out a few of the opponents threats

Put a Chandra’s ignition in this deck. If you want to see an entire table explode in hilarious anger when korvold does 60 to everyone it’s a must. I’d Also recommend myrbattlesphere and nim death mantle. Easily goes infinite with sacs though be careful not to as you can deck yourself

I found the video super helpful! Something I've had in my deck for a while is animation module with Korvold and something like Thermopod, Ashnod's altar or phyrexian altar allows you to draw your whole deck and make Korvold huge alongside a bunch of death/etb triggers for your blood artist or purphoros effects. Ashnod's altar even leaves you with some colourless mana leftover.

I am currently building a Korvold deck and have a few key pieces. From the testing I have done so far (with a deck that is far from optimised) I believe Korvold to be completely broken. I managed to get him to 26/26 the turn he came down with haste. A genuinely great piece I have found is actually Turntimber sower to get back this sac lands. I actually think korvold may be stronger than prossh

    • @BudgetEDH
      @BudgetEDH  Před 4 lety +1

I think he is too! Very powerful commander! Puts a ton of pressure on your opponents to deal with him quickly, in addition to combo lines.

My stars of my Korvold EDH are
Purphoros, God of the Forge specially if you have tokens. Also Crucible of Worlds if you can sack lands like fetches or fable passage etc

    A few more suggestions:
    *Card Advantage*
Rishkar's Expertise, Life's Legacy, Momentous Fall, Catacomb Sifter, Return of the Wildspeaker and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician
    *Token Generators*
Mad Ratter, Field of the Dead (really nice with Scapeshift), Nesting Dragon and Eyeless Watcher
    *Miscellaneous*
Primal Druid, Cindervines, Act of Treason, Tunneling Geopede (Scapeshift synergy again)

Honestly I saw a lot of similarities from this deck tech and my own Korvold. The differences I would say is that mine is a bit more token heavy so I probably wouldn't add in things like Sifter of Skulls and Pawn of Ulamog since they trigger when nontoken creatures die. And same goes for Judith who I actually took out because I didn't find her to be as useful as other things. Also I'm sure others would disagree with me but I honestly don't think Skullclamp synergizes well with Korvold since Skullclamp just kills them and doesn't actually have the keyword sacrifice so Korvold wouldn't trigger, even though two cards is still pretty nice but I like to get Korvold as chunky as fast as possible. I definitely would also consider adding in Dictate of Erebos and/or Butcher of Malakir so you can really shut out your opponents from having creatures and also benefit from Revel in Riches.

Hey I just found your channel and I gotta say, I really like your videos since you actually include somewhat expensive cards. The Commander's Quarters is a cool channel but it's also nice to have a deck with some more commonly powerful cards too. Keep it up!

Yawgmoth, Than Physician is one of the backbones of my Korvold sac deck, mad ratter is also good due to the rat tokens how but try dragon Broodmother, with a lot of tokens you can get so many draw triggers so it helps to have a Spellbook or a Thought Vessel for the no maximum hand size but yeah this is very close to what I'm running, keep up the good work!!!!!
