    Nice and timing couldn't be more perfect. I just got Photoshop Elements in the mail today and have only worked w/ free photo editing software in the past. It's nice to know you my might be a great resource as I start the tough road of the "learning curve". Thanks again.

    Thank you for this video. There are a number of videos on CZcams demonstrating the HighPass filter. Your's is the first one I found that actually explains what the filter does and how it works.

    Hi Marlene, I want to thank you for this video. I don't know how many photos I just deleted because I wanted to sharpen them. You did a great job explaining it an allowed me to make a freeze frame good enough to use for a thumbnail. Thanks again. I was so glad to go to your channel and see you are still posting.

      I've had great success with Topaz Sharpen AI. But a good initial scan of the photo or film will also go a long way to help. Here's a link to Topaz and they're having a massive sale right now. Here's the link: topazlabs.com/ref/1313/ Download the trial version first to make sure it is compatible with your computer. Then start testing with your out of focus photos.

    • @ImageMaven
      @ImageMaven  Před 5 lety

      I can't recall if Photoshop 7 had a high pass filter. (That's over 10years old software.) If it has this filter it should work the same way.

    How can you selectively sharpen without using a layer mask using high pass?

    • @ImageMaven
      @ImageMaven  Před 2 lety

      It's best to use a layer mask, so that it's non-destructive and editable.
