I liked your clear explanation. I prefer the original.
Nice and timing couldn't be more perfect. I just got Photoshop Elements in the mail today and have only worked w/ free photo editing software in the past. It's nice to know you my might be a great resource as I start the tough road of the "learning curve". Thanks again.
Have looked at one or two explanations now on high pass and this is the best and easiest to follow by far... Thank you....
Thank you for this video. There are a number of videos on CZcams demonstrating the HighPass filter. Your's is the first one I found that actually explains what the filter does and how it works.
Thank you so much Robert. Enjoy your new sharpening technique! :)
An excellent video as usual Marlene. Great timing, because I'm just starting to play around with Photoshop.
Just subscribed! So easy to follow your instruction on line! Thanks for the tip!!!

Hi Marlene, I want to thank you for this video. I don't know how many photos I just deleted because I wanted to sharpen them. You did a great job explaining it an allowed me to make a freeze frame good enough to use for a thumbnail. Thanks again. I was so glad to go to your channel and see you are still posting.
Cheers

Thank you, Marlene This was very helpful to me. Although all that you showed on your video worked, I think my image still looks blurry and just needs to be retaken. -Tracy, AZ
Yes, that happens to me sometimes too! You can only go so far if its too blurry. Thanks for watching.
You are the Image Maven!
you earned a subscriber :)
Explained brilliantly
Thank you so much! Cheers!
This is perfect for fixing my close up photos where I have just a bit of blur from motion.
Great to hear it. Thanks!
Very clear. But still having problem with brushing with white. Mine will not allow me to do this. Suggestions?
Awe, thanks Chuck, and welcome to my channel! :)
I did not see how you added the channel , You mentioned using it, but I did not see you click anything or talk about how you added it.
You saved my Santa photo with my 2 year old. Bless you!
Best comment all month! Thanks and Merry Christmas. :)
Brill 👍🏻
Your out of focus picture looks like my good work! How to fix a really out of focus picture taken with an 1970's instamatic camera! You zoom in and all you see are distorted pixels! Any suggestions?
I've had great success with Topaz Sharpen AI. But a good initial scan of the photo or film will also go a long way to help. Here's a link to Topaz and they're having a massive sale right now. Here's the link: topazlabs.com/ref/1313/ Download the trial version first to make sure it is compatible with your computer. Then start testing with your out of focus photos.
Thanks very much for your prompt response. I will try out that App!
Hi again Oscar.... I have a new video about Topaz, just out today. czcams.com/video/vLm4M_WI_C0/video.html
Marlene how to use high pass in photoshop 7.0...
I can't recall if Photoshop 7 had a high pass filter. (That's over 10years old software.) If it has this filter it should work the same way.
@@ImageMaven thanks a lot
How can you selectively sharpen without using a layer mask using high pass?
It's best to use a layer mask, so that it's non-destructive and editable.
@@ImageMaven thanks!
Is this elements 11?
Chris Nothdurft I think it's Elements 10 but now you can get Elements v.13. Thanks for watching.
I just bought elements and premiere12 for 40$ idk if that's a good deal or not
